Given the condition of your brake lever, you are lucky to have your foot in one piece! Either the crash was serious or the bajaj quality has taken a real beating here. In my opinion you should be the one asking the girl for compensation. But in todays time of 'women empowerment', you were lucky to have the crowd on your side.
Do take care of your foot and look out for such idiots on the road. The streets are full of them. Good luck

Irony is that those idiots don't realise that they are actually idiots.
Regarding brake lever yes the quality used isn't that great. But then he was at around 80s I think. The crash guards still did a decent job I think

          Ohk.thanks for the correction
Anyways if the bike falls then yes the brake lever does bend .when I had as it felt from standstill(while parking) and the brake lever bent.considering the weight of the bike it is normal.although bajaj doesn't make the best quality parts but I still think those levers are strong enough

Yup.. That's the complaint... The bikes really front heavy.. The guard quality should've been better. I damaged my gear beyond use... Looking for an after market crash guard...

Yes it's very much front heavy
You can feel it while taking turns.use a better after market crash guard then .

Thanks sharadh and shadcool. Foot is a lot better now, maybe 30% pain compared to day before yesterday when the incident happened.

like vicky_new_guy already corrected i was between 40-50 kmph. i anticipate the girl was also at around the same speed and so the relative speed maybe 80-100 kmph.

i was quite happy with the unobtrusive crash guards on my AS200 as I dont like big crash guards. Although, after this accident i have had a change of heart. I think its best to have as much protection as possible for unanticipated events like these. I think the stock ones are designed well and they are good for protecting the bike, but i would want something better for protecting my leg and foot. Do tell me if you find good leg guards that fit.

I'm trying my luck here in Mumbai.. If anyone finds an option online please do let me know.. The guard no doubt helps... But after looking at your brake lever and my gear getting bent beyond use after a skid at barely 15kmph I seriously am looking at something more sturdy

Sliders normally go on full faired bikes. Don't really know if it can go on our AS.

got an almost head on collision today with an activa (was a gearless scooter dont think it was activa but something a little smaller). there was a bad potholed single road it was around 7:30pm and i was doing around 40. an activa was coming from the front and suddenly came to my side and hit me almost in the middle but slightly to my right. I dont know exactly what happened but i felt tye bike swirling and almost getting thrown off the bike but somehow managed to hang on to the handle bar. fortunately (and dont know how) i was able to balance with my feet and stopped about 10 meters ahead. Right foot was hurting bad. I got off the bike and looked back. To my horror a girl was lying next to the fallen activa. Did have an impulse to just leave because of fear but heart didnt let me. A crowd of about 30-40 people gathered instantly.
I walked upto the girl and she was fine. she yelled at me and i quietly heard it without responding even though i thought it wasnt anyones fault, she probably changed direction due to falling in a pothole on the road. she was fine and started to go and i started walking back to my bike. Then she suddenly came and asked me to pay for damage done to her activa. I agreed because i didnt want the matter escalating. Her front panel had come off. She called her uncle who supposedly ran a workshop and asked for two thousand rupees. I was about to give it but many people from the crowd started taking my side. They said it wasnt my fault and there was no reason that i sould pay. (I was really surprised and relieved to see this as i thought that crowd will be on her side since she was a girl).
I started to take out my purse and 3-4 boys stopped me and asked me not to give anything! Some of them even said that she was ripping me off and i should just take my bike and go and they would cover me! however, i didnt want to and said that ill stay. the crowd bargained for me and were trying to bring her down to one thousand. finally it was settled at 1500. i paid and went to my bike while some were still asking me to not pay and take the matter to police. I was glad that noone really got hurt and it was settled without any injury to the girl.

On going back to my bike my foot was hurting but i just wanted to get out of there. After going a little further i tried to slow down at a turn and i couldnt feel my foot brake lever. i thought maybe my foot was numb. i stopped to take a look and saw this:

the brake lever was completely bent!! like a U shape. after looking atthis i was really thankful that my foot was not hurt much. (touchwood)

Tells you the importance of wearing shoes and driving at a sane speed. I guess the girl was also coming at around 40-50 and due to head on collision the relative speed was around 80-100 Kmph which resulted in such huge force that it bent the steel brake lever.

Will go and get the brake lever changed at ASC. is there any other alternative brake lever that can be fit on an AS200 (maybe NS 200/RS200 brake lever) which is lower for comfort of the right foot?
Sorry to hear, hope you have recovered. Indian roads are not at all safe and the riders too, except some. You never know where it will be wet, gravel or pits....

Last day i was on an inner ring road, doing 65kph, saw about 200meters free road and not much traffic beyond that.... So raised to 90kph in few secs.... Damn, a water truck with water leaking all the way back which i never expected... The road was covered with water.... Ooh my god, at speed closer to 90kph, didn't know what to react on a sudden case like this (Bloody Indian water truckers) completely at road with a non abs bike.... Knew both brakes can't surely help..... So Used little breaking and more on engine braking by downshifting from 5 to 2 very quickly in less than a sec time,

oopsss ........rear wheel locked instantly.... And it was doing fishy tail...three times.... Ooh god, i thought it won't recover and i was gonna crash to the vehicle in front... But engine braking instantly dropped my speed from 80 to about 45.... And after speed reduction i applied brakes and slowed....

What i want to tell here is, engine braking on wet or gravel road will lock your wheels esp when you downshift way too low...

Ride safe guys... Every day we learn a lesson... Yday i felt the need for abs first time ever [emoji17]

Engine breaking in your case should have been one down then release then one down and release till you reached a safer speed to apply brakes. Never try doing what you did, that could break the gear since our Indian bikes have such a low tendency Tolarance

                                Hi,

It is nothing like that.. Be it any authorized service center thay have to do the servicing of the Bike.. They are not doing it for free.. You are still paying for it.. Post the same to bajaj.. Write an email to them regarding the same...

There is a Service center of Bajaj at Koparkhairane.. CP motors..
Mr. More.. He is the manager over there.. They do servicing in front of you.. I travel all the way from Bhandup to Koparkhairane for it..

                                Cheers 🍻
