Would be prudent to get valve clearances adjusted with a feeler gauge first.

It is of high importance that timing chain is lubed.
Otherwise it would seize on sprocket and damage whole valve and basically whole engine.

P.S : Timing chain can suffer lubing issues if oil pump malfunctions due to strainer blockage.

100% correct. Valve clearance also sounds like timing issue and is one of the reasons engine feels rough.

as per my knowledge, timing chain is lubed as it is inside engine surrounded by engine oil, if your engine oil is worn out then only it will affect the pistons, timing chain and other stuffs inside inside engine as it a new bike either its chain tension is not correct or not probably lubed or may be sprockets are damaged.. by damaged sprockets I mean if you see your bike running from behind you will find that the sprockets are tumbling its not in a perfect circular motion.. I faced this problem.. i used to get sound like Khadak khadak and heavy vibs while decelerating.. in my earlier posts I discussed about this issue..

Well its quite poss that my beast must be having any one or more of the above mentioned issues. As i redline her quite often and rev a lot too. Although i have changed oil at 500 kms and then at 2000 kms. Every cold start i leave it on choke for 30 secs or more. Will visit the svc and update here as to what was the issue. If you need choke start for every morning then you might need to fine tune the carb

Is this the regular amount that is charged?
I suppose I'll have to pay life-time road tax in Bangalore again?
Is there a dedicated thread for this stuff as well?

In bangalore you dont have to pay tax for 1st month for using your vehicle (legally) after that you can pay for 1 year tax ( you dont have to have NOC for paying tax)
1 year tax may cost 1200 bugs.
but you should take police NOC rather RTO NOC, police noc you will get from commissioner office (you can get this from agent)
better you apply RTO-noc if you stay in blr more than a year, later

take a vehicle report printout from the link below (which may help you all the time)

always carry: RC, licence, vehicle purchased receipt, proof of date on which you entered the sate (courier, train slips, petrol bills, toll bills etc)

                    Yes correct

Like i said only reason timing chain is devoid of lubrication will be due to faulty oil pump, but that would cause oil starvation to entire head assembly.
Chain tension is controlled by tensioner, which maintains tension of timing chain automatically by compensating wear , since its a new bike it wont even start compensating for atleast 4-5k kms.

by damaged sprockets I mean if you see your bike running from behind you will find that the sprockets are tumbling its not in a perfect circular motion.. You mean misaligned sprocket ? it happens only when there is improper torquing of sprocket bolts , therefore its said to use a torque wrench , if its not available then tighten each bolt by quarter turn in criss cross manner. You will find this tip in almost every service manual.

HI Guys just for your FYI people who are having issues with their rear brake lever and want it to be at a lower angle.there is a small thing that you can do without making it spongy or getting play.the rear brake lever is made up of iron(not casting) and can be tilted downwards after heating it up from middle.just go to any welder he can do it up for you and charge you up to 30 40 bucks.PS- silver color of the lever turns black due to heating. i got it painted by my mechanic he had a silver spray paint with him.
