The bike has some problems, yes. But nothing that can't be solved. It's the most value for money bike I've seen.Originally posted by AmanZ View Postwhat about Maintenance and the Issues... Problems also depend on how you ride, if proper break-in was done.
So far it's been fine. Not that big any issue. Overall, very happy with the purchase.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Now that will shoot upto 1.9 or 2.0 for sure. I have tried that. At dead cold, my NS starts at 1.1K and after 40 minutes of normal ride, it rests at 1.4/1.5K, and for redlining the same time, it shoots to 1.6KOriginally posted by onlinesatish View PostIncrease it a bit, lets say 1.5k cold and see. Let me try that as well. Not sure how it is idling right now.
His readings appear normal. @guptavis, By the way what is the rpm at which the bike gets shut?. When the mixture is too rich, upon open throttle, the bike will shut down.

Yes, xbhp has a DIY post. But you need to be a bit expert in handling soldering iron too. You can search for it in xbhp DIY.Originally posted by zequirkynetizen View PostIs it possible to change the backlit color of the console?

Yes, what @marmiteminer said was true (If the media is). Also rumors are that, Apache 200 will generate more power and torque figures and compete H2H with Duke 200, as TVS follows BMW way of technology implementaion. Don't know how true.Originally posted by Harideep View PostHi,
This is Off topic. But I go through this thread everyday.
When does Apache 200 going to release?? Any idea? jbm_guy once said it may be mandatory above 150CC to have ABS. So apache 200 comes with ABS. Im waiting to buy.
Plus you get ABS, which is a great option to have. I remember some guys ignored NS and bought Apache 180 ABS just for ABS. This is a good move. Anyway the expo will spell the truth, unfortunately Bajaj isn't participating (Maybe they couldn't bring CS400 this year). But hope is 200NS FI is about to hit as well to compete with Apache 200. Let's wait.
Your wait for Apache 200 ABS would be definitely worthy.

AS200 is a wonderful VFM bike. At this cost, you can't expect too much on quality, yet Bajaj doesn't compromise much as well. Unlike RS200 or CBR250, you get too much from AS200 for the money you pay.Originally posted by AmanZ View PostThank you Biker...

If you like, go ahead and get one. Otherwise wait for feb Expo, you might be surprised.

I cant wait for it... If December Goes by My Hunk's value will drop down more.. So better buy it now... ABS is what i was more keen on.. but i m good without ABS as well.. Later on i can upgrade to a higher CC bike.. and budget is also Limited..Originally posted by jbm_guy View PostAS200 is a wonderful VFM bike. Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
I currently own CBZ xtreme, gonna pull trigger on P220F or AS200 in Jan/Feb 2016. I am 6.1 feet tall & weight around 80 KG's. Im sure you will fall in love with the AS200, thats guaranteed (I took a detailed test drive of both P220F & AS200) The AS200 is a hand tailored bike for tall drivers, super comfortableOriginally posted by AmanZ View PostI cant wait for it... Regarding the upcoming launches in Feb-April 2016 within price of 1.3 lakhs onroad:
1) Apache 200
2) Pulsar 200 NS- FI
3) Updated Karizma R/ZMR
4) Bajaj may soon update their AS200/RS200 & P220F with new dual paint schemes & minor engine refinement improvements (as always)
Even if all the above prove to be successful, AS200 still will be perfect bike which is well proven is NS200 platform for 4 years.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
I have read about the Karizma R discontinued, I know this news 3-4 months back, when I went to test drive 2014 Karizma-R, & dealer offered me 14K discount (88K on road)
There are these chances:
1) Hero might bring back the Karizma with updates (not likely, but still maybe)
2) Or If Hero is really confident on performance of HX250R, then they might permanently close the karizma lineup. (Major technical challenges lie ahead)
Tough call for Hero, aswell for all of us

I think hero will never come back.they are now into 100 cc segment and are happy with it.Originally posted by marmiteminer View PostI have read about the Karizma R discontinued, I know this news 3-4 months back, when I went to test drive 2014 Karizma-R, & dealer offered me 14K discount (88K on road)

Even if they do don't blindly go for it.there are much options in our country now with competitive price

So AS 200 is the final one... and has all the things i m looking for in my New bike..
I m planning to upgrade to higher cc and ride it with care for next 5 years..
Dual paint scheme will be good but Black looks classy anyways.. can customize it any way i want it... P220 is already in dual color and doesn't make much difference in loooks it anyways looks classy in Single and dual colors..
Carb is always Best..--

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Offtopic: Hero had ended up bruising badly after the bankruptcy of Eric since their acquisition. Well, till that time HX250, hastur, such concept models looked promising. Post that happening, the loss made them to shut things up. Now no news about HX250, and so is about the new ZMR. Their main focus as said by xplod566 right now is capturing lower cc as slowly Honda and Yamaha seem to dominate, exp Honda which already took 125cc segment from Hero, now with bikes like Fz,Hornet and Gixxer 150cc segment is again taken up from Hero and Bajaj. All left for Hero is less than 125cc. Once people stop buying lower cc, Hero will be gone, they must wake up.Originally posted by marmiteminer View PostI have read about the Karizma R discontinued, I know this news 3-4 months back, when I went to test drive 2014 Karizma-R, & dealer offered me 14K discount (88K on road)

Hope Bajaj isn't in this list. And they have a healthy profit in making KTM bikes and exports. TVS joins the same with BMW.
Let's hope for NS FI next year.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Since recently (around a week back), the bike feels kind of stressed initially, more actually past 4k or 5k rpm.
It had become much smoother after 1st service, but I feel it's back to how it was prior to that. It performs well, no issue with performance though.
Just that I feel it's really trying hard to pull initially.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
<<<<ALERT >>>>
Gentlemen, Please read these topics: They are about coolants & their maintenance (very important)
The conclusion is that Motul Inugel coolant is very harmful for the NS/AS/RS bikes. This coolant is damaging the important oil-seal at waterpump chamber, hence making coolant to enter the crankcase & mixing with engine oil, therefore silently killing the engine.
Another bad news is "maybe" few NS/AS/RS bikes came with default factory filled Motul Inugel coolant
So please check this issue by looking through your engine oil window. If you see any white milky bubble/froth or green-ish liquid, urgent attention is required!
