Bro... If u some how notice such issue in just a new bike then how can you enjoy ur ride.?

Keep count of all problem you faced and tell all during ur first service....

Engine knockings is also due to driving pattern of individual... Try to remember one thing its a machine make to perform... Dont worry just read manuals before riding her...

Try to change oil at 200km-250kmbefore first service,

Small burst is necessary but after 1st services i.e. after 500km odo...

Good, always wear Helmet irrespective of ride distance. Ride safe bro.

I didn't notice any problems bro... One idiotic mechanic teased me that... "this brand new bike itself has tappet noise... He ruined my happiness.... Even a small different sound from engine makes me worried 😓.... But I'm loving her... The engine is a gem

Don't worry much about tappet clearance or knocking at this time. Engine knocking as said by @jammbuster, is because of riding higher gears at lower RPM. Say, riding at 2.5 RPM at gear 1 and doing the same at gear 3 results in engine knocking, "Takak takaka" sound. Keep an eye on Speedo for shifting the gear as in manual. If manual says

            1st gear - 10 kph (you try at 12-14kph)
            2nd gear - 16 kph (you try at 18-20kph)

Following exact way as in manual takes more time to get used to. Simply keep an eye on tacho, make sure you shift from 2.5K and above for gear 1,2 and 3K rpm above for the rest. Also try not to exceed more than 4.5K rpm for time being. Ride safe forgetting small issues. After 1st service things should improve.

Hey guys i went for a 150km ride to clock some km for getting the bike serviced. Two problems did bug me. Same gear issue, could not gear down the bike after sudden breaking but that was just twice. Second big problem was my right ankle was killing me after 50 km because of the awkward position of foot peg and brake lever. Please tell me how to fix this issue anyhow. Half the time I was not using rear breaks just because of the same reason. Any diy for the same?
This is a big let down for me as I fsced accute pain in my ankle. I wonder if I use riding boots it will be even more combursom.

                            • Learning to live with pathetic Bajaj ASC

                              Hi all,

got my 2nd free service for my AS200 at 4560KM yesterday (what a way to spend christmas ). I went to pratap bajaj chandigarh for this service having been frustrated with Nitya bajaj, solan, from where i bought the bike and got my first service done.
But i was hopelessly let down again. Firstly, i reached at around 11:30 AM and im attended at around 12:15 PM! Work does not start (except washing till 3 PM).
Then they say there is some problem with the system and I will have to pay charges for paid service. I did not want to pay up and asked them to give it to me in writing. Then they ask me for first service proof and sale proof (thank god i had all the papers with me). I was shown that my bike's Chassis No was shown as still belonging to the bajaj dealer. They have to change it on their system when they sell it and all the service record is with them. But the solan dealer had not done that even after 6 months!! After lots of calls and headscratching they were able to sort that problem. The service guy then found two bolts missing on the front sprocket (probably done on first service).

The SA on the job card already mentioned that the bike will need engine oil top-up. I was doing the system thing when they filled 200ml of engine oil !! dont know why! It was already fine to begin with. The coolant was close to min level but above it, so coolant was also topped up.
Both engine oil and coolant were overfilled! The coolant was over the the max mark and completely filled the window, even the engine oil was 2-3mm above the max mark on the window. I pointed that out to the mechanic but he said its okay. I asked him again to remove some coolant. He reluctantly agreed. He opened some screw at the bottom and some coolant started spurting out. Then he said coolant is bad for engine parts and it will cause harm to the engine and rubber components. I let it be and asked him to just complete the service.

When i reached back home i could feel a burning smell and i looked at the engine to see a lot of oil around the engine for the first time in six months!! Was so sad and wanted to go back and whack them but SVC would be closed by the time i would reach.

Do i let it be now, or is it bad and should i get the engine oil changed?
What about the coolant? Even the SVC was not comfortable removing it, will a roadside mech be able to handle it?

Ive already ridden about 30KM. Can i wait and ride for ~100KM before looking at these things or can they cause harm? should i get them addressed immediately?

Hey mate, sorry to hear your woes on Christmas!
How much have they overfilled? Is it like over-flowing/leaking from the coolant box? If not, then I'd suggest you let them both be. Further tinkering by road-side mechs will only worsen the problem. Our bikes are not that common that the next Joe at the shop will be easily able to fix everything up. You never know what we might end up doing!

As for the engine oil, put the bike on main stand/hold it straight. Is the oil level beyond the window?
I too got a slight burning smell when the buggers changed/added oil. I dont see why you'd actually need to change your oil though. I'd say run it for another 100 kms or so, and let the bike settle itself down. Just my 2 cents, tho.
