Now the question is, what the hell?? , YOU ARE TELLING ME MY NS PUT UP SOME WEIGHT?. This Bajaj replied that it has made some improvements on last recent batches of 200NS, but actually media says it's a Bajaj's usual numbering tricks to make RS don't look too bulky or heavy...!!!

Suck Bajaj...!!! What a stupid move?....!!!. You are telling me a fairing + ABS + projector takes 20 KG?. Well, anyway I don't own any of them, so no worries.

Now, coming to your torque point, I just mentioned for a power ride, not for a drag. Your fact is right for acceleration. If you want to extract the fastest lap times, then consider this technique.

Always shift above the max torque, say if max torque is 8000 rpm, then try shifting 500 rpms (8500 rpm) above max torque so then in your next gear you will continue at 500 rpm less max torque (7500 rpm) so that your acceleration won't have irregularities and will continue to have a punch.
And this 500 rpm(for eg) i mentioned will be your (Max power - Max torque) value.

But until we have a track, this can't be practiced or tested. Hope to hit to track sometime.

Yes. Key basic thing for top speed is momentum. Drive at 60 kph in 6th gear. Try full throttle on open road and your chances of crossing 115 kph is very less. Now you can only dream about top end. So to get there, you need more momentum. To gain, you need to not lose when you shift your gears. As i said, if you follow up, then the momentum will not drop in between and that will help get you past 130+ (considering ducking). For full fairing bikes, it will be little easier. But anything against wind is not comfortable for any bike. End of the day, we can't win or defy against nature. Just obey her and enjoy the ride
Yes you are right.6th gear 60 speeds wil reach tk a max of 120may be.but I like AS shifting at 4.5k rpm.its a good rpm to rode in city[emoji5]

Yes, me too, except for some rare crazy times. It's for safety and mileage and for Bike's longevity...!!!

Wow! I didn't know about the weight issue. So what does the NS actually weigh (wet weight, full tank)? And the AS?

That's Bajaj's clever play my friend. If you check the Bajaj website right now, it says NS weighs 151 and AS about 153. All this is considering full tank+engine oil+coolant+brake oils etc (kerb weight).

In case of AS, only @2 kilos more, you get projector + semi-fairing (that's almost what NS has as tank extended, so don't see semi-fairing like Fazer) + windshield, this is how Bajaj advertises, while saying RS is just 12KG over 200NS(Didn't even mention about ABS/non-ABS). Because 200NS was kept as standard and all started to compare against that for AS and RS. But how come it just weighs only 2 Kg?. Isn't this looking like Bajaj cannibalizing their own product for new product promotion?. And the answer is yes they are and hence stopped 200NS today. And leaving most of the owners desperate for getting spares in a year or two.

But Duke 200 undoubtedly still weighs 138Kgs and will even weigh the same if KTM launched Duke 250. And the reason what Bajaj gives for extra weight seems silly(What improvements have they done for that 6KG?), like the answer they gave for RS wheel alloy issue...!!!

NS - 145 Kg (as per Bajaj (earlier) and as per my user manual)
AS - +8 Kgs more (Acceptable)
RS - +20 Kgs more (Too much)

I like about their other aspects, launching demanding products, supplies, cheapest spares, VFM products, etc but all ends up in a very short span.

Use a screw-driver to turn this screw and adjust the Idle RPM.
It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!

It can be done without screw driver.

yes, easier to do it with hands. But whatever you do, make the engine a bit warmer. Ride it for 10-15 minutes in 1-3 gears in nearby streets.

OK... so completed 2050 kms on my bike..! Is the "run in" completed or should I give it a lil more time??? N whats the safe RPM limit am I looking at for now?? And can I now take her out on high ways?? bcoz in the "run in" phase I avoided long high ways n kept the rpms moving..

Ideally the run in should be over.
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Yes after 3rd gear all R tall gears.
                              I think it's 5.5rpm at 80 and 6k rpm for speed of 100

6th cog is actually an overdrive gear
                                You can cruise @ around 75 kmph @ 5.5k RPM 6th gear

100 kmph comes a tad above 7k RPM 6th gear IIRC.
