Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
I'm well aware of that my friend. Ideally it's supposed to last that long, but it doesn't in many cases. For me 7100 lasted for 3800 kms before throwing up tantrums.Originally posted by GauravD View Post5100 on the oil itself tells you how long the oil is built to last...Its the fusion of a two wheeled machine & a human being which creates a true biker.

I got it changed under warranty for the same reason . But the new console also started to act same now after 6 months. I think , we have to ignore this problem[emoji17]Originally posted by Saurabh Tuli View PostAny solution for this..

I had the same problem. Mine was vibrating at 4500 to 5500 k rpm and at 6k rpm. But after a month use it has decreased substantially. Doesn't vibrates like crazy. Just minimal vibration. The tachometer is covered under warranty. Tell the SVC to change it.Originally posted by Saurabh Tuli View PostMy as200 rpm needle shakes at 4 to 5k rpm in every gear whats the problem

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
According to the article by nextgen, 5100 is more suited for Bajaj engines, since it is more viscous and suits the higher clearances of bajaj built engines. 7100 is more suited to high revving Yamaha/Honda (Jap) engines with super tight tolerances.Originally posted by Abhijeet Bhattacharjee View PostI'm well aware of that my friend. Some riders say DTSI is a good oil, some say its good for only normal speeds - each one is entitled to his own opinion based on their experience.
True mate. But i presume if i keep this oil till 10000 kms, the gears wont move past 1st!

5100 on the oil itself tells you how long the oil is built to last... so this lasts 5100 kms .. to be on the safer side atleast 4500 kms based on your riding. I run on 7100 and it lasts me a good 6,500 kms + between oil changesOriginally posted by Vicky_New_Guy View Post6,500 is a big number for Motul 7,100... I'm still on Bajaj 10,000... Will change it on my third serving to motul 7,100... Are you sure you change after 6500? What's your usage like and your riding style? Don't you push your bike?
I've covered around 3.5k kms. Can i take the leap to Motul from DTSi?

Never downgrade with engine oils. If you've used 7100, stick to it.Originally posted by vvk1999 View PostAfter using the 7100 for 3500km(end of life) , i switched to 5100 to give it a try . Any specific reason you say that?Originally posted by zequirkynetizen View PostNever downgrade with engine oils. If you've used 7100, stick to it.
[Edit:] My clutch wire snapped in the middle of nowhere. Kudos toh BAL ASC folks who had replaced my clutch wire. Now I'm thinking what I'm supposed to do with my bike.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
No specific reason as such. Just that 7100 performance higher than 5100. More pickup and less vibs. If you downgrade, you'll feel lesser pickup comparatively and may be few vibs. Though the vibs are not that big an issue.Originally posted by Abhijeet Bhattacharjee View PostAny specific reason you say that?

I for one have been using 5100 for a long time. Have toured a lot on it. It gives me that satisfactory feeling when I ride (The type you get when you hear your engine's noise and you know it's running perfectly). I'm in love with that oil.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
My bike's front end feels a bit weird. The wheel feels loose, while the handlebar is tight. The bike is following the smallest of tracks on the road (tramlining) and is being pushed off the chosen line by road imperfections.
Any suggestions? The cone set and fork oil are due for replacement. Should I get the wheel bearings checked too?
The Eurogrips have sufficient tread left, but I'm considering a move to MRF* anyway.
The bike has done around 13,000 km.
*For the front, I've shortlisted the FZ V2.0 and Gixxer's tyres. Same size as the AS200 (100/80-17), though I'll have to check the speed and load ratings (52P).
For the rear, I'm thinking of going with the R15 V2.0 (130/70-17).
What about the CBR150R's tyres? Both ends are the same size as the AS200.Last edited by deebee; 07-25-2016, 12:24 PM.

I am having similar issuea as Deebee, my bike is going in for second service now. It feels bumpy even on smooth roads, I have a grip and use an RE riding gloves but, still the vibes numb my palm. It's monsoon now and those who live in Kolkata know that we usually face with scattered clouds and rains. That means highly slippery roads. Eurogrips are holding well. Stock lights and bulbs are useless though in rains.
1. Should I change to Motul 5100 now?
2. The bike is now underpower and gives a choking feedback when moving up from 4k. Any advice?
3. Can't feel rear break anymore, no feedback.
4. Engine noise has increased considerably, no leaks though.
5. Fairing noise and vibes are prominent than ever.
6. The machine ain't moving past 130 kmph anymore.
The odo reads 4645.
Safe Riding Guys!

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
From yesterday, I'm seeing two issues with the my AS 200.
A. The indicator switch has its own heart and mind and will work at times and won't at times (mostly won't)
B. When I turn on the headlights, the lights at times fail to get turned on, even the LCD console lights. No lights get turned on except the bajaj logo. Then again at times everything gets turned on properly.
My question is, is this a battery issue somehow? If not, what else could it be?

Fuse brother, it's the loose fuse connection. Check the fuse box on the left handside (when on the bike) panel. It is a little painstaking process.Originally posted by zequirkynetizen View PostFrom yesterday, I'm seeing two issues with the my AS 200.

1. Take off both seats, rear seat first, then the front.
2. Unscrew the side panel, be careful the quality of screws are bad.
3. You will find a small box locked in the frame.
4. There is 15 amp (blue) fuse. There should be a spare too.
5. Check that the fuse is inserted properly.
That should solve the issue.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
I took my bike to Tungareshwar(Vasai)... I had to cross 2 water bodies 100m long and knee height water twice. Since then my bike feels sluggish or jammed... Both the wheels are free... There's no pick up at all... I had to stop in the water for around a minute...
What could be the issue??? Water penetrating somewhere in the bike???
