Do post the experience with new bulbs if possible with pics.
If I remember correctly, a mechanic with very slim arms managed to change the low beam without opening the fairing/tank. But I could be wrong. I'll find out tonight

As for the high beam, the fairing will have to be opened. Even getting to the high beam adjustment screw is difficult, unless you have very thin arms. Or maybe you can change the bulb by just opening the instrument console?

My phone doesn't have a flash, but I'll try to get some shots anyway...

14.5V!!! That will surely damage the bulb. Could this be a warranty issue with the electricals, or will Bajaj refuse to admit its mistake? Or is this common on all bikes?

Someone in this thread mentioned putting 100watt bulb for extra light. If the reflector holds up without melting with extra heat then that could be a good option. How much did the xtreme vison pair cost?

Ideally, I wanted to use the stock ratings - 12V, 55W, H7. Aren't 100 watt bulbs (anything above 55/60W, in fact) illegal in India?

It cost me Rs. 1,500 for a pair of X-tremeVision 100%+. I fit one today for the projector, but it seems completely rubbish. Intensity and throw are both down on the stock bulb.

Truth be told, the mechanic was struggling to fit it properly, so it's possible that it's misaligned. Which means I'll have to waste yet another Saturday morning at the SVC for non-scheduled maintenance...

You can reach the low beam's knob easily, its on the bottom right side of the fairing, turn is clockwise to lower the beam. For high beam, you might have to remove the fairing..
It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!

Sorry for not being clear. I meant to replace the bulbs do I need that cumbersome task of removing the fuel tank and front headlight assembly. The mechaics are really ignorent and have to be reminded everytime not to scratch any part of the bike and to make sure they put in all screws everytime they dismantle the faring fuel tank. That is the main reason why I am double minded about changing stock bulbs to a better one.

If its anything like the 220 then you would atleast remove the fairing to get access cause there would be a retainer clip for the bulbs.

Last Friday I went for 10000 kms/12 months 3rd free service. After getting delivery by 6:30pm when I was about to leave I noticed head lights are not working. SVC guyz told me they followed checklist perfectly and it was working. Later they took it in and opened fairing, reworked and made it work. I didn't had any issues with headlights till now.

To change the bulb for the low beam (projector), there is no need to open the fairing at all.

I haven't had the high beam (reflector) replaced so far, so I don't really know if it can be done without opening anything. But I suppose at least the fairing will need to be removed, if not anything else.

Are the switches covered under warranty for water damage? My pass such gets stuck once pressed. I have to flick it back to the off position. My right indicator switch works intermittently.

No clue about the warranty bit. My indicator switch has also been sticky from day one.

The less said about Bajaj's quality control, the better. I rationalise my purchase with the thought that 23.5 PS @ Rs. 1.1 lakh - so, some compromises will have to be made in terms of quality

For pass switch if it gets struck use wd40.
it will take care the problem.
in rainy season it is a common problem and million Buck car also make creaching noise and it doesn't mean that it is behind in quality level.

It's not just about issues experienced during the rainy season (in any case, the monsoon hasn't arrived here in Calcutta yet). The question is of the AS200's overall quality - and I accept that I got what I paid for, so I should keep my expectations low. Simple.

I don't really want to get into an argument about this. I've faced enough issues with my AS200 in 12 months of ownership to form an opinion.

Maybe you have a different opinion of the bike - fair enough. Let's agree to disagree
