Not 5k. Five hundred. paanch sau.

Sir, ask SVC not to fill coolant upto the brim, coolant level should be at middle, and check whether coolant is entering engine area or not because 500 kms are nothing its a new bike.

Bike when new. with coolant halfway lever(half between maximum and minimum)
Gave it for first servicing after 400 km/ 45 days. The coolant was below minimum. (Lets say i used about 450 ml)

At the first service, the coolant was topped up to all the way up. To the very top of the glass window which is there for checking the level.

Now it is at 850 km(that is 400 km after first service). And the coolant is half way already. (lets say I have used 400 ml)

So total km run = 850
Total coolant used = 850 ml

An ml of coolant a km? No thanks, Bajaj.

Might even sell it off soon.

Selling off a bike is no solution. The bike is new. No bike is niggle free. Why not give the svc a chance to fix the issue or maybe try a different svc. Escalate the issue with bajaj customer care if svc does not co-operate.
Any equipment whether its an Ac or a car or anything has the highest chances of failure at the very beginning or at the end of its life. Dont give up that easy.

You are correct, my R3 is 3.5 months old and close to 5k kms haven't topped up coolant even once but i faced this issue when I had duke 390, in my case it was even worse, coolant used to come at empty level within 4-5 hours and at the end coolant was entering in engine. Write a mail to bajaj.

Changed my engine oil at 7000 but still get those vibrations. I have taken toh the bajaj svc and made adjusted the Tappet Valve Clearance which has lessened the vibration a bit but still has vibes. 😖
Get ur carb tuning checked... the vibey tacho can be replaced under warranty.

My coolant lasted for 8k kms and now topped up as it touched minimum mark. We both got our bikes on same day....

Coolant topped up at 400 km.Like all the way to the top. Above the maximum mark. All the way to the point where it would take no more.
Now the odo stands at 800 km. And the coolant looks like it will need a top up after another say 200 km.

And I park my bike for, like, days, and not a single leak. So its consumption.

I mean ****ing hell. Even a Koenigsegg doesnt drink like 700 ml of coolant in like 400 km.

                        we both = who?
How do you know when i got my bike? (Hint: 8th of March)

And your coolant having lasted 8K kms. Well, congrats on that. You have a decent bike, unlike the lemon that I have.

My bike has done 8k as well and still the coolent level is exactly the same. And my bike endures north indian summers of +44 degree Celsius were I live. Its just a chance that you got a defective bike.

I have taken the pictures below just before leaving work for home. The bike was parked for 11 hours, can you guys please assist me identify whether the engine oil color is ok? I noticed the coolant level dropping and I read in this thread that the bike's cooling valve system has issues. So, I am a little worried.
I have very closely observed today while riding back home that the vibration from the engine changes right at 5.5 rpm on 6th gear. It is strongly felt on the right side footpeg and the brake lever. Is it with all of you?

I can only comment on the vibration part. It is a well known issue, and all of the AS owners either downshift or upshift to avoid the dreaded 5.5K RPM vibrations.

There's no issues with coolant level. Usually it will only be half filled and it will stay there till next service. It will never get drained unless there is a leak.
