Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Some tips from me. I had just completed 10000kms on Pulsar 200AS.Originally posted by SaneGuy View PostHello xbhpians,
I have completed 2400kms and I have some questions.
I did my first service at 645kms and after that I have not done any service of my bike.
They replaced the engine oil with Bajaj oil in the first service.
The second service is scheduled at 4500km or 240days so I am waiting for completion of 240days or 4500km.
Sometimes when I turn off my bike a loud sound comes from the engine. A 'Tak" sort of sound.
It happens every time I turn off.
Is this normal?
What is the top speed of pulsar as200??
Till date I have managed to reach the speed of 134km/h speedometer indicated.
I am getting an avergae of around 35km/L mostly with pillion rider
I mostly ride in the city.
I don't feel the rear disk brakes that much. It is not that punchy as like the front disk.
Quite often in my first ride of the day , bike turns of automatically while riding, when i release the throttle and it reaches around 1-1.5k rpm,
It turns itself off automatically.
I have to keep throttle up to 2k rpm to let the bike not switch off automatically.
The first gear does not give that much pick up at lower rpms.
I feel that pickup has reduced after 2000kms completion.
I reached from 0-60 in around 6seconds.
With a pillion rider(mine =100kg ,pillion =70kg weight)
Are there any issues that I need to take care about?
Thanks. Take Care.
1- Change the Engine oil every 3000-3500 kms. The Bajaj Engine Oil starts to lose its viscosity after that, starts to get thinner(my observation).
2- Sound coming from the bike when turning it off, that is normal. Happens with me too.
3- Top speed I had achieved was 136 kmph Speedo indicated. But after completing my 10000kms top speed has somewhat dropped. I could achieve 130 kmph now.
4- I get an average of 36 kmpl on Highway (average speed 80-90 kmph) and 32 kmph on city conditions.
5- Check the carb tuning for engine shutting down at lower rpm. My bike idles at 1300rpm and doesn't shut down. Check it.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Is the Leaning Left issue has been solved after the fork replacement. My bike leans too, but I have learned to live with that.Originally posted by vijacdblz View Post
After paying Rs 4000 for fork replacement, for the leaning left issue that almost every pulsar has, I now have to go through this fork oil leak. Not sure where the leak starts either.
I wiped it so it looks far better that it is , any advice guys?
P.S leaning left never got fixed stupid Khivraj SVC faggots.

1. Bajaj DTSI deteriorates really fast post 2k kms... of course it depends on the way one rides too. Too much high speeds and it loses viscos really fast. When i was running on dtsi I kept a change interval of 1500-2000 to be on the safer side.
5. 1150 is the ideal cold idle rpm and around 1400 for a hot engine. The carb CO optimally to be set at about 1.6 makes for a good pick up too. If the engine shuts off at 1150 the AFR is most probably whack.
Just my opinion...

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
My clutch cable was getting stuck between fork and the steering stem. I rerouted the clutch cable properly & that resolved the issue for me. Of course the clutch is expected to be harder because a higher power output demands stiffer clutch springs. Adjust the clutch play and engagement as well, that tends to help.Originally posted by AmanZ View PostHi Abhijeet, Even i m facing the same issue. My mechanic says it is because of rains and clutch cable needs to be changed. And usually NS and AS has hard clutch...
But after few weeks i m used to it now... Will change the clutch cable post monsoons.
Anyone tried using clutch cable other than that of NS or AS? If yes did that made a difference?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
SVC said the issue was bent fork due to a my mistake ( a fall, or bumping into a wall ), i was frustrated cause i know almost every as200 has it. I paid for the replacement still it leans left but i would say it got improved slightly.Originally posted by Pulseman View PostIs the Leaning Left issue has been solved after the fork replacement. Bajaj claims 10000 kms for this oil! I too felt that engine becomes really rough post 2k kms on the oil... are the SVCs really substituting the 'good' oil with something else or is it that bad?Originally posted by GauravD View PostWould beg to differ bro...

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
My AS200 is running on Motul 7100, the oil seems to have lost viscosity after 3800 kms. I'm facing hard shifts and I can't find neutral. The next service is due after some 1300 odd kms. I'm scratching my head as to what I'm supposed to do now.Originally posted by VaruaG View PostBajaj claims 10000 kms for this oil! What do you call that? There's something unusual about this engine or what?Last edited by Abhijeet Bhattacharjee; 07-20-2016, 04:55 PM.Its the fusion of a two wheeled machine & a human being which creates a true biker.

How many kms did 5100 last for you??Originally posted by zequirkynetizen View PostI've switched to Motul 5100 15w50 when my bike was 1200 kms old. Its 8356 kms old now. Drained and refilled same oil on 2nd servicing. So far this has been one of my best decision. Its the fusion of a two wheeled machine & a human being which creates a true biker.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Bro, I had questioned the service center manager on this very point. His reply was that you need to top up the oil every 1500 - 2000 kms however a complete change is needed at 10,000 kms...Originally posted by VaruaG View PostBajaj claims 10000 kms for this oil! Some riders say DTSI is a good oil, some say its good for only normal speeds - each one is entitled to his own opinion based on their experience.

5100 on the oil itself tells you how long the oil is built to last... so this lasts 5100 kms .. to be on the safer side atleast 4500 kms based on your riding. I run on 7100 and it lasts me a good 6,500 kms + between oil changesOriginally posted by Abhijeet Bhattacharjee View PostHow many kms did 5100 last for you??

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
6,500 is a big number for Motul 7,100... I'm still on Bajaj 10,000... Will change it on my third serving to motul 7,100... Are you sure you change after 6500? What's your usage like and your riding style? Don't you push your bike?Originally posted by GauravD View PostBro, I had questioned the service center manager on this very point.
