Yup, I always maintain 32. I'm heavy anyway, and I'll have a lot of luggage at the back

Any ideas about where I can source a quality jerrycan in Calcutta? And how I can tether it to the bike? I'll be carrying a Viaterra Claw, a sleeping bag+mat and a small knapsack on the tank.

Substandard quality control is no excuse really, not even for 40k scooter.
I agree. I just hope things get better in the long run... once the initial niggles are sorted out (my bike is 16 months old, and has done 17,500 km. I'm out of town for 4-5 months a year, and the bike is used very sparingly - and gently - by a friend during that period).

Incidentally, the rear disc got overheated and started clamping on its own last night. This is happening after any moderate-speed run (80-90 km/h). I have no clue why - mud on the pads? A pebble? Misaligned wheel? Worn out bearings? Misaligned axle? I'm leaving for a 2.5k km trip this Friday!

Each time something like this happens, I remind myself that... 23.5 PS, liquid cooling, monoshock, projector, disc brakes at both ends - all of this for 1.1 lakh. What was I expecting? Compromises will have to be made somewhere - itne paise mein itnaich milega.

Indeed, I own a P180 (2010 baught) and a AS200, The nut, bolt hardware quality is worst in the As200. My one rider seat mounting weld nut is already screwed. Also, the left side leg guard bolt.

That's really bad. I own a 2004 P150, and it has much better overall quality than the AS200.

compared features to other pulsars ns200 has less features but its part quality is superior to p220 . as200 shares same components as NS but i cant understand why cost cutting is more evident on AS200/150

Are you saying that AS200 has better part quality than P220?

Nope , NS 200 has better quality than P220. I own both .
But since AS200 is semi fairing version of Ns200 , Ao i thought it has same components quality . correct me if i m wrong.

                    1. Valve clearances.
                    2. Clutch plates.

i also think that valve clearance is issue. it is not done till now and bike has run 12k kms.

Bajaj Pulsar AS 150 & AS 200 Production On, Switching Over To BS-IV Has Resulted In A Minor Production Adjustment At The Factory

The AS twins haven't been discontinued as rumored. They are being updated to conform to BS-IV norms.

Hey guys. completed 4th service of the bike at 113600km. Bike was not ridden for two months as I was recovering from a severe wrist fracture. After the service the bike is giving cold start problems. Afr tuning was not touched in the service. If I try to accelerate even a little without idling the bike for 3 minutes the engine shuts off. I have been running on motul 7100 20w50. The air filter was completely choked. Does it mean i need to re-tune the afr to compensate the extra air being pulled in the engine after changing the air filter?

Also Would like to know if upsizing rear tyres to 140/70 reduce the acceleration significantly.

Anyone upgraded to 100watt bulb for the projector? The only concern is that I do not want to dismantle the headlight assembly just to change the bulb as it might cause additional rattles if not put together properly. If there is a way to do that without opening up the headlight assembly please do share how to.

One more thing, since AS200 and RS200 share a lot of parts is there any possible way to migrate the abs system on to this bike if we ignore the costs, is it feasible, technically?

Did a small DIY job at home to remove the battery saving feature. Now when I turn the ignition key on everything on the bike works including headlights, drl and console lights without firing up the engine.

That is good news, we wont have to worry about parts then in the near future. Although service centers are already scarce on AS200 parts. The screws on the console of my bike got scrapped off. The service centers in Chandigarh do not have any and have ordered them and will take like a month to come.

About rear Tyre, I upsized to 140 section Michelin and I don't feel any lag in acceleration. It does 53 in 4th and 63 in 5th gear for 5000 rpm
