I did consider it, but didn't actually go through with it

My friend adjusted the AFR screw on his Impulse, and it seemed to help a bit. In any case, his bike too struggled above 16,000-16,500 feet.

Hello! My Coolant Temperature light blinks within a few minutes of starting my bike even when starting for the first time in the morning. It then disappears on its own after riding for sometime. I've checked the coolant level. It's normal. My bike has crossed 5k kms and I've down 2nd free servicing

What might be the problem?

Getting self-ride permits for Sikkim can be a rather intimidating and complicated affair.

Hello Fellow Bikers,
It has been long indeed since I last wrote an update.
I am at 9000 km at ODO and have changed to Motul 5100 at around 5800 kms, at the same time I had to change the Sprockets, chain due to a bent caused by our careless, good for nothing SVC guys at Rolta Bajaj who, apparently on my 3rd service handed over my bike to a novice. He screwed the entire bike royally.
Now, I have a gem as a mechanic, this guy is simply awesome when it comes to performance bike mechanic. He had the bike for 2 days and boy did he worked wonders.
Now I feel the real feisty beasty between my legs ! I clocked 141 with him working throughout the suspension, brakes, handling, throttle, wheels and tuning.
Added a Bolt Charger and have changed the 55w Philips H7 stock to Osram Nightbreakers. The brightness is evident is better than Philips. I had been busy so could not take her for regular service and have over driven her now which is evident. The bike is giving me 32kmpl in the city with high revving and I am happy with it. It's a bajaj, it ought to throw some tantrums now and then because of some quality issues but, despite that it saves me the dignity when I get across a competition on the roads with R15, 220, RTR200 or Honda 150.
I am regularly cleaning the chain with obvious intervals and lubricating it with Motul C2.
One thing for sure, I ain't going back to SVC with my babe, ever !

Sorry for my late revert, i am unable to view updates on the Xbhp App so, I had to log through browser to post this reply.
The mechanic name is Azhar, the garage name is Safina Galvanizing at Jessore Road just after Emami City on the south and Dum Dum Central Jail more on the north. Akbar is another brother but Azhar does all the magic, these guys are not literate and it is best advised to visit them personally since their abilities are not very sharp over the phone (they even forget that it's me over the phone). Don't visit them on weekends because these guys serve to a lot of clients and you'll find atleast 12 to 16 bikes already waiting. They source their parts from showrooms or you can purchase too and give it to them. They have Motul stock usually and you can take reference of my bike when you visit them.

The bike has been running rather rough since the Sikkim trip, even after getting it serviced on returning to Calcutta.

I am much obliged to be able to assist my fellow Rider Brothers. A quick update, I had lot of difficulties this time to get parts because of non availability in the city. Basic parts like clutch assembly including the hub, cables, Con Nut assembly are not available at any dealer or distributors including Durga Auto (largest supplier of bajaj spares in Kolkata). My mechanics finally after 12 hours of searching found a shop at Wellington Street who happens to have every single bit of spares available and now selling them at a higher marked up rate with MRPs stricken off the packaging. According to SVCs, the spares are not being supplied from past 1 month and are hopeful to get them for 200 series after another month. You can KTM spares but not AS/NS parts. Believe me, my ride has been on stand for more than 24 hours and i will post a lot of details soon. I have overhauled my ride this time to the brink of perfection.

1.Where do you live?
The coolant temperature light may come on even if it's too cold
Make sure to use proper anti-freeze(coolant) to avoid icing up which may damage your water pump and radiator
2.If it's not due to cold weather, it may be due to a faulty coolant temperature sensor which is giving incorrect signal, making the system think that it's too cold.
3.Check for broken sensor wires.

Thanks.I live in Dibrugarh, Assam.So its probably because of the cold.I thought it only blinked when it gets hot.

Report this issue to service center might be a problem with thermostat. U can get it replaced under warranty
