Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Hi,Originally posted by shaneadams View PostI don't know whether there is a separate thread but I did this when my bike got stolen. Filed FIR in my local police station. Then intimated insurance agency. After some days insurance agent visited my premises and enquired about the incident. Then police came and enquired about the incident and took some area sketch where incident took place.
(generally insurance work is outsourced to other agencies for verifying and allotting percentage of claim. so be calm while talking to those people.)
BTW I got 90% claim amount. Claim amount is calculated based on the written down value of the bike. I.e. Cost - depreciation. Then went down to insurance office to complete the paperwork. After completing the paperwork, the claim will be deposited in your bank account after 90days.
Within that period we have to get non traceable certificates from the police station.
P. S. These inspectors will speak (enquire) as if we ourselves giving the bike to thief. So don't lose the temper till we get our money back. Make sure you have both the key of your bike with you and also original RC book for clearing the paperwork faster.
Thanks for your reply. I have gone through the FIR registration, insurance claim intimation, police panchnama and insurance third party surveyor investigation. I am awaiting final untraceble report from police. I have also prepared subrogation and ideminity bond as asked by insurance company.
Just want to know, how much time did police take to provide you the untraceable report? or did the insurance company asked for it before settlement?
Regards

It depends how efficient the officers are. They don't give untraceable report till 3 months from the date of the FIR.Originally posted by vrnmhjn View PostHi,

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Thanks for sharing brother. I do not intend to take my bike to 140, I asked because i need to know the potential of my ride and wether it is as good as the rest of the same machine. I went for 400 km ride this sunday with a line up including NS, CBR and 390, where our average was 110 km/hr. Apart from handling issue probably because of tyres, I could easily cruise at 110 without noticeable loss of power seamlessly. We covered 120km before taking a break and found it swift. Fairing noise and vibrations are I guess traits of Bajaj. Nevertheless, the machine worked beautifully through out. I had a full tank and just to be on the safe side, filled another 2.5 litres on way back. Trip neter shows 440 kms with the last bar being visible even today.Originally posted by IamAditya View PostFrom 2nd gear onwards cross 10.5k Rpm and at 5th gear shift up just as the needle is about to touch 11k RPM,
You will easily cross 145kmph
Just share if you do have a solution for a noise from engine which sounds like tappet but it ain't and only comes when the bike is revving and not at idle. I did adjust the valve clearance so I know its not that. Also, the handling and vibrations on the handlebar.
Ride Safe !

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Bike stopped pulling at 10.5 rpm but dont keep the bike on 10.5 for long time shift as soon as rpm needle touches 10-10.5 and your engine ll be fine [emoji41]Originally posted by randhish View PostGear specific rpm limits for 1st and 2nd Gears are very restricted like 4k rpm for 1st gear and 7k rpm for 2nd gear so, if you rev your bike too high close to the red line of 10k rpm there is a chance that you might end up damaging your bike's engine..
This information was given to me by a trusted mechanic from Bajaj SVC.
But, if you maintain the redline shift technique from third gear onwards you can easily cross 140..

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences

I'm bit worried right now.....

It could be that you are running on a lean mixture and the bike overheated and stopped. Does your bike idle at higher rpms than normal after a long ride?Originally posted by chandusanjith View Postguys my bike is 3months old and clocked around 2500kms.Today i was cruising on highway and my bike was not going above 8k rpm and speed was just 120kmph.And suddenly it stopped in the middle of highway .And after some attempts engine came to life and from there on i was doing 70-80kmph my bike was doing good and after i ripped up my throttle and my engine shutoff.

HI,Originally posted by Anubhav M View PostIt could be that you are running on a lean mixture and the bike overheated and stopped. Does your bike idle at higher rpms than normal after a long ride?
starting idling rpm will be on 1.5k and after the ride it goes to 2.5k

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
It is a sign that the fuel air mixture is too lean. You will have to tune the carburetor accordingly. I had the same issue. After the bike was properly warmed up the rpms would hold at 2.5 -3k rpm for some time after a ride and then gradualy come back to the usual 1.5 k when idling.Originally posted by chandusanjith View PostHI,

My shocks are toast. I did a little bit of off roads... Some bumps were huge. On my way back cornering seemed a bit weird. Checked and I could see oil. It's just like a seesaw now. No resistance. Can it be saved or it's done?

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
It takes police 90 days to confirm that they cannot find or locate it. In my case they didn't issued the report to me yet I got my settlement. I guess the insurance company directly collected it from police.Originally posted by vrnmhjn View PostHi,

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Hello everyone
I am posting after longtime
I was having vibration and pickup issues with my bike so went to svc centre
The mechanic was knowledgeable . He started the engine and said me that there is issue with crank or shafts and bearing from which vibes occur
He told me that i have to submit my bike for 15 days for inspection and every part of the engine will be opened.
My query is that my odo is 13000
and i am wooried about my engine because it will be opened completely so will all the parts will be fitted according to bajaj measures or just the way the mechanics do
Thank you

Search for the best BAJAJ SVC in your state, and take your bike there.
If you know some good local mechanics, then show them and ask what can be the reason?
And mention the same reason at a bajaj SVC, so they dont need to open the bike completely to find the issue.
Cheers.Last edited by IamAditya; 02-09-2017, 07:25 PM.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Sounds like your fork seals are gone. It's best to have a mechanic take a look at them and judge if simply replacing the fork oil and seals will help. If you've used the bike extensively after losing the fork seals, it's possible that you might have to replace the shocks.Originally posted by Vicky_New_Guy View PostTo avoid stress...
