Thats really heart breaking. Wanted to keep this bike for atleast 3 to 4 years. I hope there will not be spare parts shortage in future. Dont think I will buy a bajaj again as they are very unpredictable with their product line ups.

They will be bringing back the AS range which will be more focused towards ADVENTURE SPORT tag.

Hello friends, posting this here as both the NS200 & AS200 almost has the same engine!
Hello friends, a serious issue here! My friend's 2013 model Pulsar 200NS was not behaving properly in the end of the 2016, i.e Dec31(to be accurate).

The problem is that even though when the bike has adequate fuel, the engine shuts down itself when it is running like the bike ran out of fuel... And when we try to restart the bike, nope.. It's not at all responding! But after sometime, when we crank the engine, it gets it's life again.. But as soon as we twist the throttle, it goes off again!

It was given at a local mechanic shed and he told that, coil has been fused and that was the culprit, he told. Then he asked us to change it and take the bike back the next day!

After then the problem was completely resolved and till date it performed well!

But today the same happened again and it's making us go mad!

As we are noob to this section, we couldn't find out the cause for this problem!

Please help and let me know the root cause for this problem!

Am guessing that either the fuel pump or the accelerator cable is the cause!

Or maybe it's all just because of 'Airlock'?

Please help me to sort this problem.

Am seriously fed up of this problem as I am sending this to you people standing in the middle of the road!

        Thanks!

        Ride safe!

Spares will be a real pain in the .... already svc dont keep even the basic spares for this bike. I have been waiting for the bikes console, exhaust and a few screws and connector from speedometer and crash guard for two months now to arrive and be replaced under warrenty. Things are about to get worse now. I think its best to sell off the bike while we can before the resale value crashes.

              You have exclusivity..
              Thats what i think.

There may be slight delay on spares, but unlike other brands, bajaj won't have issues on spare parts for a discontinued bike.

NS was stoped eariler, buy there wasn't any spare issues.

              Cheers.

hi guys, i am considering swapping clip ons to a proper riser handlebar on my bike. Purely for comfort on long rides.
Has anyone done/attempted something like this ?
i have seen a few instances whete people have just drilled new holes and put on handle bars on CBR.
but i am not sure if it is possible or safe to do on AS200.
                Any advise will be welcome

NS production was never stopped - only SALES in India was stopped. Production was continued and NS'es were being exported and continually sold in other countries.

Now, Bajaj has announced that they are DISCONTINUING the AS line. That's different! I believe that the AS will not only be discontinued in India, but WORLDWIDE.

That said, the NS and AS shares many similar parts. So, you might still luck out with an equivalent part as the NS line is continually supported.

Barring quarter fairing and full rear mudguard, i dont see any differences between NS and AS.
And NS is just updated and has huge worldwide following.
so it sounds a bit absurd to worry about parts.
kawasaki bajaj 4s champions are still on road with all spares available over the counter.
so dont imagine pulsar would have parts deficiency

You ASS200 guys better go to the SVC and ask if they have specific spares. Chances are, they won't. Legally they should have spares for 7 years, but practically the SVC won't bother to stock them, simply because it ain't fast moving. Just see the post above where the guy is waiting for spares to arrive under warranty. If that's the case now, imagine two years down the line.

I beleive, AS shares most of the parts with the NS except the fairing. Why are u facing issue with sourcing an exhaust and crash guard, isn't that the same as NS?

And if someone is planning to keep the bike for long, and faces issue with fairing you have the option to convert it into NS.

It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!

AS 200 shares most of the parts with NS 200 not all parts. Secondly there are a lot of structured differences between Ns and As which includes wiring paths and the frame so converting will be costly. Let alone small svcs even the bigger ones like in Chandigarh do not keep sufficient spares for this bike. Even small stuff like screws and cables are barely available with them.

Exactly my point. It was anyways frustrating that Bajaj decided to let our share it's look with the AS150. I've never faced any issues with spares till now in Bombay. There was once an issue outside Bombay, but that was the SVC fault as they delayed in ordering the parts for some reason. Maybe cus it was a warranty replacement

Buy RS200's upper plate if you are planning to drill holes since the NS/AS's upper plate has holes in it. Drilling on the stock plates can weaken it.

                                Hey Guys !
It's been 3 weeks now that I have seen anyone posting anything in this thread. Why has everyone gone silent?
Well, a few stuff for me to share with you all. Got new tyres for my ride, the MRF FX1 100/80 up front and the Michelin Street Radial for rear again 130/70.
I should be awarded for using the Euroslips for 12k before switching and boy did I see the transition. The ride is smooth, confident, grippy and awesome handling.
Had some issues with top speed which I think has been resolved though I never had the chance to open the throttle yet after the rectification.
Had the seat made with high density foam and sturdy material for both Rider's and Pillion's and it is a relief now for long rides.
I am planning a headlight job, I have been introduced with an automobile light expert Devraj of DVJ Auto Tech A.K.A. "The Light Doctor". I have seen his work on AS200 and a friend's also a member of Xbhp NS, who has recently got his lights worked up. He did the rewinding and wiring with all product and what a result I must say. Gonna cost me near 8k but by what saw it is worth it. I am at 12400 kms on ODO and I have no complaints about the ride. Posting some pictures of my new tyres. Do post updates about your ride guys, it is nice to read about everyone's ride.
