...also, the normal convention for live power is typically on the FEMALE side of the molex connector. This reduces the probability of short circuit should a metallic object accidentally lodges into connector. You seem to have circled the MALE side of the connector.Originally posted by shaneadams View Post

I First connected in the female pin but didnt' get any reading from the multimeter.Originally posted by sgbikerboy View Post...also, the normal convention for live power is typically on the FEMALE side of the molex connector. Finally I found out the where the Ignition switch is. It is in the left hand side fairing of our bike. There are buch of wire connector molex in there. The black is the igntion connector. I removed and checked to ensure the electricals didn't work. Yahoo.
Attaching some of the pics for reference.
In the 1st picture I placed red wire of multimeter to the brown wire of the connector and got a reading in -ve 12v
In the 2nd picture I placed red wire of multimter to the white wire of the connector and goat a reading in +ve 12v
Most people said brown is +ve and white is -ve. One confusion is that if I connect + and - wrongly, will it short my battery.
I got reference from this video

From 2nd gear onwards cross 10.5k Rpm and at 5th gear shift up just as the needle is about to touch 11k RPM,Originally posted by Hunterkol View PostThis thread is going silent for longer durations now.
Can someone please assist to explain top speeds on AS200 above 140? How to make that happen on my ride?
You will easily cross 145kmph

One more thing, does anyone notices a burning smell like oil or something just after ripping to standstill?

Hi Fellow Bhpians,
Is there any general thread or forum section where people who have lost(stolen) their bikes can discusss about general procedure for insurance settlement, police-panchnama-final report related queries, things to follow etc etc?

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
I'd done 142 last month exactly 1 year since I got the bike. It was pretty dam easy. It could have done even more. Didn't have the guts though. Redline it in all the gears, bar 1st. You'll get to that point where you find you're bike is not pulling anymore. Shift before it, that's your sweet spot.Originally posted by Hunterkol View PostCan someone please assist to explain top speeds on AS200 above 140? How to make that happen on my ride?

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Gear specific rpm limits for 1st and 2nd Gears are very restricted like 4k rpm for 1st gear and 7k rpm for 2nd gear so, if you rev your bike too high close to the red line of 10k rpm there is a chance that you might end up damaging your bike's engine..Originally posted by NitSpeed200 View PostWhy not in first gear?
This information was given to me by a trusted mechanic from Bajaj SVC.
But, if you maintain the redline shift technique from third gear onwards you can easily cross 140..

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
I don't know whether there is a separate thread but I did this when my bike got stolen. Filed FIR in my local police station. Then intimated insurance agency. After some days insurance agent visited my premises and enquired about the incident. Then police came and enquired about the incident and took some area sketch where incident took place.Originally posted by vrnmhjn View PostHi Fellow Bhpians,

(generally insurance work is outsourced to other agencies for verifying and allotting percentage of claim. so be calm while talking to those people.)
BTW I got 90% claim amount. Claim amount is calculated based on the written down value of the bike. I.e. Cost - depreciation. Then went down to insurance office to complete the paperwork. After completing the paperwork, the claim will be deposited in your bank account after 90days.
Within that period we have to get non traceable certificates from the police station.
P. S. These inspectors will speak (enquire) as if we ourselves giving the bike to thief. So don't lose the temper till we get our money back. Make sure you have both the key of your bike with you and also original RC book for clearing the paperwork faster.

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Been redlining in all the gears for the past 4 years in my 200NS and engine is fine. From what I know it's perfectly fine to redline in all the gears and it can be termed bad for engine only if decide to stick the needle on the redline.Originally posted by randhish View PostGear specific rpm limits for 1st and 2nd Gears are very restricted like 4k rpm for 1st gear and 7k rpm for 2nd gear so, if you rev your bike too high close to the red line of 10k rpm there is a chance that you might end up damaging your bike's engine..

Re: Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences
Nitspeed it's good to know that your bike's engine is in good condition. this was told to me by SVC so I just passed the information..Originally posted by NitSpeed200 View PostNever knew about this. Been redlining in all the gears for the past 4 years in my 200NS and engine is fine.
But, then every mechanic's way of doing things is different and every rider's way of riding is different too..
Anyways its an engine from bajaj and my bike is only 4500 kms so, I am not taking any risks and following what I was told..
