It is not difficult, it is rather time consuming. The seat, side panels, tank cover, tank and both side tank panels are to be removed in order to reach the Air Filter box. That's why SVC avoids doing it.
It is a paper filter and SHOULD NEVER BE SOAKED IN ANY OIL OR LIQUID!

    Replace if necessary.

      Hello xbhpians!!
Need some suggestions, my as200 just completed 8000kms on the odo and its time for me to change the engine oil.
Till now was on bajaj dtsi 10000 oil but, want to upgrade to motul.
Which one should I go for? Motul 5100 20w50 semisynthetic or motul7100 20w50 synthetic oil?
Which one will be more smooth? Oil drain interval not so much important..
      Thanks in advance..

I would suggest you to get motul 5100 first and after that 7100 . The drain interval for motul 5100 is 5k and for motul 7100 is 7k . But i drain 7100 at 5k kms.

Problem is motul5100 comes in 15w50 and not bajaj recommended 20w50.. Will it be a big problem?

Nope... Using a lower cold visco rating will make no difference. It won't be a problem

Sorry bro i totally forgot that motul 5100 grade is 15w50. Some members of xbhp said me to get 5100 first and after 7100. Get 7100 then because now your engine has run more than 5k kms then 7100 will be good option. It makes engine butter smooth . Get 7100 20w50 for sure. Drain it after 5k kms.

I don't think they can tell the difference between the grades if you don't tell em

Guys can anyone post a video here or on youtube about the process to remove the tank farings side panel in order to reach air filter and tappets.. this would be required for some as we dont see qualified tech in remote places and for other mechanics to see and learn.. Also helpful in DIY

Could anyone record a video when they visit SVC or elsewhere?

Not the AS200, but I did this is on my NS200 - close enough....

It’s been 14,000km since I had my engine top rebuilt in Chiang Mai and I’ve not done the valves clearance check on my Pulsar 200NS. And since it was the Chinese New Year holiday and I&#…

Not trying to be offensive or being a smart-ass here, but seriously, if you already have PHYSICAL ACCESS to your bike but yet not have the mechanical confidence to remove the FAIRINGS and fuel tank (which I believe should be rather similar to the 200NS), I really, really, REALLY wouldn't recommend you opening up your engine top and / or messing around with your tappets!

                              Appreciate your response brother..

Anyways that videos were not for me but for local mechanics who are not trained and or are afraid to handle such bikes just to change air filter or accelerator cable..

Last time my accelerator cable broke around 150km from civilization and around 300km from authorized service station and local mechanics had no clue to open up this bike to replace accelerator cable.. it may be helpful just in some cases though like i had earlier.. Finally I did manage by increasing the throttle rpm and rode at 40kmph for 300kms and got it replaced..

Well.... same logic applies to the mechanic, isn't it?

BTW, I've always replaced the air filter on my own... And periodic lubrication of the bike's cables hopefully see it lasting for a long, long time (it's 4 years old, and I'm still using the original clutch and throttle cables that came with the bike).
