Pulsar AS 200 Owners Review and Experiences

    3) clunky gears and low pickup
    4) not able to hit 110 kmph, fuel cutoff at 7.5k RPM

    Things i have replace or worked on

    1) Clutch plates replaced
    2) spark plugs replaced
    3) Carburetor cleaned
    4) Carburetor fuel tube replace
    5) Cone set replaced / worked on
    6) Front and rear brake pads replaced
    7) Frond Fork worked on (Overhauling)
    8) Console part worked on for noise
    9) Battery Charged
    10) Air Filter changed


    As of now, the bike acceleration was very much improved, controlling the bike is too easy now as forks and cone set worked on, was able to hit 130 kmph now and its easy as compared to before, gears are silky smooth as Clutch plates changed

    But the improvement is not what i expected, still the vibrations need to be worked on, as checking with the SVC for tappet clearance / engine housing, they said the worked on but no difference in the vibration, shoot out an email to customercare and raised a complaint on portal too.

    previously every SVC I visited told me that NS / AS 200 variants will vibrate no matter what we do to resolve it, but after raising the complaint now, the SVC supervisor calls me and asks me to bring the motorcycle for checking the vibration.

    Hope my problem of vibration gets resolved tomorrow, fingers crossed.

      I had the same purpose and now you have cleared it, believe me its more than 6 to 7 pair of allen screws required to be removed in order to access carb....my bike was facing troubles during my ladhakh trip...and failed horribly to climb khardungla...so had to return back. .. In Leh we managed to remove fairing and tank but ended up breaking the idle adjuster screw shaft on carb...so again I advise you to go to a skilled mechanic...cause its always easy to remove than installation...

        Here you go bro:
        1. Spark plugs, replace if not replaced. Use Bosch.
        2. Air Filter, Checka and replace if necessary.
        3. Fuel lines, replace is not done so at 10k.
        4. Get the carb cleaned thoroughly, be careful with rubber gaskets and parts in it. Don't soak them in petrol or any chemical.
        5. Get the clutch assembly checked.
        6. Accelerator and Clutch Cables replaced if not done so in last 10k kms.
        7. Have the valve clearance asjusted if there is any noise, don't touch the head otherwise. The lesser you open it the better.
        8. CON nut assembly greased. Change the roller balls if necessary, check for smoothness on the inner lining of the racer, change it if you feel friction on the surface.
        9. Front and Rear wheel bearings replaced if not done so in last 10k kms.
        Sprocket bearing replaced if not done so in last 10k kms.
        10. Check for sprocket wear.
        11. Have the radiator coolant drained and washed with distilled water. Re fill with new.
        11. Rear suspension link rod cleaned, greased.
        12. Get the brake lines bled.
        13. Get the brake pads checked and replaced if necessary, do replace the caliper rubber bush.
        14. Do have the fuel filter changed if not done so in last 8k kms

        It is exhaustive to have so much looked into and replaced. But, it regular as well preventive maintenance to keep our ride in top notch condition.

        These are what I would do but, its your discretion bro.

              Hey guys, there is powerloss between 5k to 7k rpm. Bike jerks like there is no fuel. Took it to the svc. Svc guy said carb is fine after riding it. He said have to check some coil. I read lot of people having this issue. But couldn't find any solution. Any help on what might be the problem. Dont want to take it frequently to the svc. Thanks

                Hi guys yesterday I was riding from banglore to Davangere which is around 250km. So as I was near chitradurga my console started to blink, showing wrong speed and I stopped my bike, as I felt something burnt, so I turned off the key. And after 1min I turned the ignition and nothing happened, there was no power horn was not working neither indicators were working so I thought fuse may have blown off and I opened my rear, front seats and left panel and replaced the burnt fuse with the spare one and my bike came to life so I continued my ride towards Davangere which was just around 60km and now suddenly my spare fuse was also burnt now and I was stuck in middle of highway, self was not working and some people helped by pushing my bike and it started so I slowly came to Davangere and I went to bajaj elictricals to test the wiring of my bike because I thought some short-circuit is causing the fuse to blow off. So they were good in testing and told me that radiator fan coil is burnt and it's causing the short-circuit so today I'm replacing my radiator fan it's costing me around 1.5k. So my bike just covered 12k kilometres in 12months is it normal to replace the fan have any of you done that or encounterd this problem or is it only my bike??????

                  It should be covered under warranty. It is an electrical fault, normal to happen due to accumulation of dust or foreign particles. The spare is costly but I feel it should be covered under warranty. Check with Bajaj, shoot an email.

                    Bro the issue needs to be analysed. This issue although common has different solutions though.
                    Powerless at Mid Range means wither the fuel is not flowing or air or the valves not working they way they should be. Spark plugs can be blamed too.
                    So have the following checked as suited:
                    1. Clamps from Air Filter box to Carb and from carb to the Engine head are tucked and fit properly.
                    2. Carb cleaned and serviced thoroughly and by that I mean removing the jets, needles, float, using compressed carb cleaner to clean the internal fuel lines as well.
                    3. Have the rocker arms and valves checked.
                    4. Verify if the electrical hobs connecting to the spark plugs are supplying constant electricity to the plugs. Clean the connectors.
                    5. Have all three spark plugs checked.
                    6. Get the fuel tank, filter and tubes checked for clogging.
                    7. Check for fuel quality or adulterated fuel.

                    I have mostly covered all the possible parts which can cause this problem. If there is a problem, it has to be either one or more from the above.

                      Thanks for solution buddy. Have checked the plugs. Plugs are fine. Need to check carb and other things. Its hard to access the carb in as 200. Have to take it to svc only. None of the mechanics want to work in this bike. Since removing the fairing is hell of a work. I tried removing the fairing. But its hard to.

                        Hey guys. Have finally found the way to remove the fairing. There is a screw under the front on both sides

                        Then there is 2 star screws near the console area on both sides. These screws hold the side panels of the fairing.

                        Removing this will give access to remove the tank.

                        Putting it back together takes some effort if you are working alone.

                          Hi everyone. I seek advice from all AS 200 users. I'm planning to buy a used AS 200. The bike has clocked closed to 19k on odo. What are the pre-requisites before buying it ? What all should I paying an hawk's eye to ?

                                its exactly my situation now, but have serviced the carburetor a week before, airfilters changed, valves adjusted, battery recharged. still there is evident power loss around 6k to 7k rpms, couldn't get pass 104 kmph, but at times i have that insane pickup and it goes to 115 kmph all of a sudden from 100kmph, its very scary.

                                previously the bike stalls at traffic very often that too at noon times, had taken it to svc and they suggest to check the CDI unit and the coils but it would take two days, so i skipped it and went on a road trip. started at 6 am in the morning and the bike performs well in every aspects, but after 10 AM the stalling problem occurred again(may be due to heat), was travelling to dindigul, while reaching perambalur at 10 am, there was evident power loss at 5th gear around 6k rpm and stalls after sometime. need to switch off the console and have to wait around 10 minutes to start back. it continued till i reach home and it stalled like 12 times and i reached dindigul at 2.30. went to local bajaj svc and said the issues, they said the same too, need to check the CDI and coil.

                                took the bike from svc and was told that there was only wiring issue. while returning chennai this morning there was power loss at 7k rpm often but the bike didn't stalled.

                                scratching my head and fed up on the svc.

                                thinking of selling my bike due to the poor service from bajaj, even after raising complaints in the portal they seem to be lethargic on finding the issue.
