You're valuable advice is highly appreciated. Please if anyone can respond ASAP, it'll be of great help. Thank you.
get engine checked by a mechanic first, then check tyre condition and lastly body condition.
rest is usual check paperwork and all.

Hi Guys i am using As200 since three years from the very first lot of launch and the first to be registered.

since the time of purchase i have been facing a troublesome issue with my bike. when i m crusing on speed of 80-100 for 15 20 kms the engine rpm suddenly raises to the rpm limit and cutting of the transmission, though rpm reaches the limiter but my clutch gets jammed and gives a neutral gear feeling. i either have to declutch the bike to get it normal or leave the accelerator and accelerate again. this keeps happening after every 4 5 kms from the start and it doesnt have a specific speed of occurance. it can happen on 60-70kmph or even 110-140 kmph. time of occurance is not specific.

have fought with service center for the issue for 2 years no solutions to it, got it checked by local mechanics but no solution. have got my clutch assemble changed twice but no difference. i really love my bike but this has given me a big trouble to go on long drives.

want to know if anyone here has got such similar problems and got it rectified.
if any solutions or recommendations pls inbox.

                Hello Rushank,

The same issue happened to me on November 2016 while on a trip of 500kms, mine is slightly different where i would be able to cruise at 50-55 kmph normally but beyond that 2-3 minutes my rpm limit light glows and tachometer needle would jump to 10+ even without matching the engine rpm which would be around 5-6k rpm actually, when the rpm light starts blinks there would be fuel cut off and my speed would reduce to 50 kmph, it was tiresome to ride 450 kms on 50 kmph, i got it checked immediately once i reached the service centre and they took two days and said there was some wiring issues which was crushed with the frame, after that i haven't faced it, recently got the issue but it was carburettor and no rpm issues after that, raise a complaint in bajaj portal, they would respond immediately, good luck.

                Nathan.

                • AS/NS 200 radiator fan dosnt start automatically

In my AS200 the radiator fan doesn't start automatically now a days. Previously it would start after engine catches some heat. I have tried flushing coolant, have also checked fan manually and fan is working. I guess now its the faulty thermostat possibly or do you guyz have any other clues??

Why is it not turning on automatically? Help me

                    Hello Tribe,
My apologies for not being active for past 6 months, I had trouble getting a decent device since mine smashed to shreds. I went through past 6 month's post of all the respective members about the common problems everyone is currently facing so, I am gonna jot down some crucial information that maybe helpful is resolving most of the issues.
I have taken my Beasty for her maiden, multi-day circuit trip of around 2000 kms and let me emphasise that, it was amazing to ride her through Tarmac, Dirt, Gravel, Jungle Trails, up hills, down hills, village roads, storm, rain and even crossing a river on a boat. It was pure orgasmic pleasure. I have fallen in [emoji180] love with her, again [emoji4].
A friend here asked about tyres, currently on MRF FX1 stock size up front and Michelin Streets stock size at the rear and they held pretty well apart everywhere (including the crazy corners of Patratu and Ajyodha Hills) but be cautious on loose gravel and slush. I have been using them for 13k kms and still have 18 to 19k on them to go. The FX1 might give away a little early maybe.
Now, lets come to the issues of our model. The thing with this machine is, you gotta listen to it, put ur brains and senses into it. Although it shares all its mechanical aspects with the NS, it on no means performs like NS at all. Trust me when I say that because I ride with a hood which has 3 NS, 3 220s, 2 Domis, 3 CBRs, a Himalayan, 3 390s and a Triumph Street Twin. The quality of components is extremely poor, I left my ride idle for 7 months (almost) without a single startup and 7 litres of fuel in the tank. Although it was covered, it had suffered degradation just by sitting idle. The entire Carburetor (slider, pilots, lines, screws, seals) corroded. The chain and sprocket rusted and swollen, the fuel lines jammed, the spark plug hobs rusted, the wheel bearing and the ball racer rusted. It was heartbreaking but, the battery was is tip top condition and so was the engine and the starter.
I have practically faced all the issues you guys have mentioned and by that, I mean every single trouble but, I worked towards it to resolve those issues.
Lets start with the most common issue, Powerloss. This problem is a sum of multiple components failing to perform in sync. Starting from the Petrol Filter, the Carburetor, the spark plugs and the valves. Not to be left out, the engine oil. You need to ensure every unit here is performing the way it should, the valves should be ideally set, check the rocker arms, the timing chain, the timing chain tensioner, the spark plug hobs (connector), spark plugs themselves, fitting of the Carburetor, its jets, the slider piston in it, the petrol tank, its lines and most importantly the MECHANIC.
I am at 23500 kms on the ODO, when I start my Beasty she growls, it is so deep that my friends bring their ears close to hear if she is on [emoji23].
I used Motul5100 15w50 from 5000 all the way upto 18000kms and then changed to Motul7100 20w50. Why? Because I primed her engine, I did not jump to engine oils just because everyone was using them, I tried another brand Repsol but did not change the grade. The oil was good but not for more than 1800kms. I switched back to 5100. I changed the carb, rocker arms, spark plugs, timing chain and its tensioner at 18000 and switched to Motul7100 20w50 at the same time (also the air filter and the petrol filter). The valve clearance wasn't set right so I had cold start problems and fluctuating revs with low range per litre. Synced the valves right and the problem was gone. Yes, it was expensive but, the transition is felt when I turn the throttle, I can ride her at 40 on 6th and mover her to 151 without changing gears.
Second issue is the handling, its the extra weight upfront, compensate that with changing the ball racer to its original part which has two plastic housing holding the metal balls with equivalent distance from each other. I tried the most commonly used replacement which was the ball racer set of 220. DON'T USE THAT! Doesn't lasts for more than 1500kms on great Indian desi roads. Use the original OEM spare as mentioned. Refer to 99rpm.com for spare parts and components. The primary reason for discontinuing AS200 was these complaints and issues which SVCs could not address. I have done my research guys, I know what I am saying. The left swaying, its the uneven weight upfront. The fairing, coil placement and the windshield. You put a 70 liter luggage on the rare seat and it will be gone. Use Motul or any other fork oil with dampening value of 15WT to 20WT with 225ml in each fork. Check for oil seal leakage. Keep tyre pressure at 25psi upfront, do not upsize and align your forks right. Change the wheel bearings regularly, take the bearing numbers and purchase bearings of better quality like NGK, Tiscon or TVS OEMs. Not all bajaj spares have good quality. Get NGK spark plugs, refer to their site for OEM replacements. If u are done 20k kms, change rear suspension bearings, oil seals, pivots.
Check for rear wheel and sprocket bearings as well in similar manner as the front. Try and change them at the same time.
Drain the coolant after 7k kms, wash tje line with distilled water and refill.

The thing with AS200 is, it was an untested variant which had a negative feedback. I hardly see AS200 at Kolkata, my home town but was amazed to see the model in numbers in South India and Himachal.
I love the seating posture on it, so damn comfortable, the seats hurt after 50kms but I worked a little bit on it too. Another suggestion, change the entire hub assembly of the clutch, don't just change the clutch plates or just the pressure plates. You will understand why.
I am back and will be delighted to help my fellow tribe brothers. I apologise again for not being around. I am sharing some pictures with you all too.

Sorry Vicky for the late revert. I am guessing you must have bought the rubbers for your ride by now but still, I feel I should provide you with the info.
Its been 13k almost, using the stock size but would recommend 140 section instead. Amazing at wet roads and corners, medium compound makes it agile and holds leak quite well. Had a 4 inch nail in it and rode it for 200kms before I could repair it.
Slips on gravel and sand, not recommended for off road use. I have another friend who uses the same combination as mine and its his second set now in use. Lasts almost 30k for PSRs. Use nitrogen instead of regular air.

Accelerator cable gets stuck or its damage, faulty slider piston in the Carburetor, faulty clutch cable.

Thermostat switch has coolant residue or its malfunctioning. Drain the coolant, flush the line with distilled water, pour in new coolant have the thermostat switch checked. Could be a faulty wiring issue too if u have made any mods.

Monoshocks can be repaired easily by someone who specifically repairs shock absorbers and struts. Will cost you 750 to 1200 depending on quality and warranty of work. No big deal, warranty should not be less than 6 months however, the Monoshock will last for 1 and a half years.

I have been following your posts and I must say that the effort you put in with this bike is staggering. So many experiments, so many failures and so many fixes later, this post very well sums up whatever issues any of us might face in the long run. I wonder many times if it is worth putting in more effort for that extra smoothness. I have been lucky that I don't feel any major issues with my bike. I just hope we had just 1 competent service centre in Bangalore which can reliably the few persistent issues with this bike
