Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
guys i dropped my bike because a stupid driver stopped his car suddenly and i had to brake since i was on like 70 but i did what i could but rear wheel locked then the bike got unstable instead of leaving the rear brake i pressed a bit of front too and that's where i feel ikr im stupid i argued a bit to the driver but he said its my fault so i didnt bothered fighting him can you guys tell me how can i repair the damage nothing is broken just the scratches and 2 of them are deep im posting images
The faring is a three piece set and different on the left and right side.
The greater damage is on the middle piece, on the faring so id say u can just get that portion changed.
The lower portion has got just a single scratch, i guess u can live with it, but then that is just an opinion.
The faring is not that costly after all.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Even though lower than the AS by about 6 bhp, the CBR also could come in as a good touring machine. I agree with Rahul N, Allen you could consider the CBR 150 as well although price could be deciding factor. Delhi price is ~ 1.35 on road.Originally posted by Rahul N View PostWhy don't you consider Honda CBR 150R, which gives you power for highway ride and also some good mileage!!
Honda CBR is good for touring!!

Yamaha YZF15-S is way better than CBR150.Originally posted by GauravD View PostEven though lower than the AS by about 6 bhp, the CBR also could come in as a good touring machine. Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I was looking for quiet a few models in the market before SF was released.
I was looking for faired models as I know I will be using them for long rides. And the only two models that were in market within my budget was cbr150 and r15. Went to showroom and checked both.
Didn't take a test drive since I don't know driving at that time (feb-mar this year).
Cbr 150 was 1.43 on road in Chennai then, for 40k more u can get 250r. Had heard good things about cbr250 being better for touring so I was more inclined on buying 250r.
Then came the shocker, they don't have any 250r in stock. What they have is one red colour, but it has been in garage for a long time. They said that a new version will be released later in the year so that's y they don't have any in stock and wait for the new release. So decided to check my other option.
When I visited Yamaha showroom, I could immediately see that the pillion is not possible on the v2. But otherwise it was good looking. I specifically told the showroom guy I was thinking of 150r or r15 v2, and if he was in my position what he would choose.
He plainly said go for 250r, better bike all-around. V3 is coming but he didn't know the changes in that version of r15 except new colours.
That's when the news of SF came and rest is history.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
If CBR250 was available and if I could have managed to stretch my budget a little at that time, I would be posting ownership reviews there.
Anyway after getting SF I am happy that I opted for this. But I will certainly be in the market this time next year to upgrade it to maybe in the 250+ range.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Thanks guys, I ll check out cbr 150r, but I everyone has the opinion that R15 is way better than cbr, anyway i don't have the budget to go for the 250r now. Is the cbr 150r worth the money over the sf. I ve pretty much narrowed it to the sf after going through the AS 200 ownership thread. Boy, those people have some serious problems like broken engine, weird engine sounds nd stuff below 1K km, and here u people are singing praises since day 1. I guess the Japanese really knows their trade. How fast can the cbr 150r go nd is it better than the R15 s? 🙆 thanks in advance

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hey guys!! My Baby Buza had its 2nd free service today!! Took a short nap in 200 ft road Chennai!! As the road was wet and slippery also water clogged there around 1+ ft though!
Planned to revv the bike till 10k rpm and the bike is more smoother now gear shifting if crisp !! Only cons is that disc was a bit slippery and sounded keech keech!! ;-) as they show in Vicks advertisement !!
I've seen many saying gear shifts are hard !! I've enquired the svc regarding this issue !! Those guys adviced to lube the chain and also asked to hold the clutch til your handle bars
Happy with the service provided by Jain suzuki pallavaram !! Would definitely recommend and the guy who attend my bike is Mr.Antony! Such a cool headed guy answered my questions without any sign in his face !!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
hello.. did you manage to remove right side fairing..? any pointers? I am also planning to do so for changing headlight bulb.. but currently in transit with Aliexpress so will take sometime to get in hand..Originally posted by sagar.sutar View PostGo to any hardware store... and buy Allen Key... and you can remove the fairing... buy horns which uses less than 3 Amp of power (and 12volts of course). Bosch ones are available on Amazon.in... it's simple plug n play horns... also consider changing your headlights with H4 55/60watts Philips/Osram bulbs...
I'm planning it too...
Happy riding

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hi, I have just recently changed the headlamp. Though the manual says that the right side fairing needs to be removed to change the headlamp,it's not the case.Originally posted by sjv0110 View Posthello.. did you manage to remove right side fairing..? any pointers? I tried removing the faring myself but had problems and so had to goto GP road to get it changed. They didn't remove the faring at all, but got the bulb changed.
