Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
hey, I got my bike from the same showroom. Well their service center guys are nice generally, just tell'em your problem, I see no reason why they wont fix it. I'd suggest, go at a time when you can wait and get it done there and that time itself, any weekday probably or a early on a weekendOriginally posted by ivanrvf View Post

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Okay so here's the thing. I am 6'0 and i was confused between RS200 and Gixxer SF.
The things going for Gixxer SF were :
-No nonsense punchy engine for its segment
-Fairing to a Naked bike. Looks sweet
Things against it :
-Looks short for my height
-Fairing doesnt looks as good when compared to RS200
-Not as much a dedicated riding position as is required for a faired bike. It seems i am sitting on a Naked bike but Voila ! its a faired bike.
Things going for RS200:
-Well the whole bike itself. It looks muscular, not too dedicated riding position !!
-The power ofcourse
- Fuel Injection
-It looks best for my height (pictures attached)
Going against RS200:
-Its a Bajaj
-Recent incidents
-i dont think i can flick it as well and confidently as my old Stunner
-My family members being finicky about such a powerful bike.
Having test ridden the Gixxer, i couldnt believe i was riding at 70 kmph until i saw the speedometer.(The console has real good features but looks alrighty) It reached that speed without breaking a sweat. The ride was so refined whereas my Stunner would scream badly to reach those speeds also. Though i felt the ride posture of my Stunner a bit more dedicated and sporty than Gixxers which i love and would miss in the SF. Couldnt flick the bike much though in the test ride. But i am dead sure that my Stunner is a damn good at flicking and i would literally decimate the traffic which again would be missed as SF being a bit stout than the Stunner.
Also i feel the bike looks a bit short on me? Does it ?

The old guys at the group might remember me
The very next day got the bike

So coming after a very long time
Good to see the group rejuvenated into life

If quality and good resale value matters then Suzuki gixxer sf or r15s
If power figures matters then rs 200

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hello Guys,
I Went through all the posts and then decided on Gixxer SF and got it a month back. Clocked 1000Kms and done with First service.
I had a very nice experience before the first service. I got 51 km/lt mileage in Bangalore traffic which is really great from a 155cc bike.
After the first service I have a few issues. Got the bike serviced in Aryan Suzuki(Domlur, Bangalore)
1. Self start is not working, reason clutch switch is not working. They do not have stock in the service center and I am struggling with the kick start. (Its been more than 3 weeks)
2. My digital consoles light blinks when i honk with the headlights on ( Is it happening with all Gixxers?)
3. Putting bike in 1st gear and holding the full clutch still my back tyres are revolving. ( Does this usually happen?)
4. After 1st service I feel the timing between acceleration and move is lagging. Should I check this with the SVC guys.
5. My clutch is placed fully ( Will this burn my clutch plate? )
6. Mileage has dropped to 40 km/lt.
Appreciate your responses.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Went to Kiran Suzuki today. Got a very bad response from them. Mr. Kumar does not respond properly. The sales guys are totally pathetic. One of the sales guys scratched my right side sticker fairing and claimed that I dropped the bike that is why it happened.Originally posted by shailendra.k View Posthey, I got my bike from the same showroom. Below is my mail to Suzuki:
"
Hi,
I m writing my second feedback to Suzuki. Before taking delivery of bike, the sales person made me sign the paper with assurance that the bike is fine, they were reluctant to show me the bike. The moment I realized the defect I shot a complain in Suzuki website in the morning 23rd November 2015. I got My bikes delivery on 22nd November 2015 evening. I have purchased the bike from Kiran Suzuki, Goregaon west. Today I showed my defective bike to the dealer and they refused to accept that it is manufacturing defect. I got call yesterday from Kiran Suzuki, thane to come to service centre at 8 30am. I asked him Specifically whether your calling from goregoan west Kiran Suzuki, he replied yes. Today I went and the shop was closed. What is this kind of service? Now I again went to Kiran suzuki at 9 30am. One guy, maybe from sales department, from the dealers shop went to see my bike closely, scratched the sticker on right side and literally came back claiming that I dropped my bike since there is a small scratch near the right side of fairing sticker . I was blown up by this gesture and fired him back because today morning I washed my bike and I noticed nothing at all. Now the interesting part is the claim that he has made nothing to do with the defective part. Because the fairing is tilted to the right side and the scratch is on the right. Your smart enough to make a conclusion of this claim. There is some nuisance going on at the dealers shop. Mr. Kumar came, made a job sheet and said it will take half an hour to fix it. I told him I don't have time, as I have to go to work. He said he wil call back in half an hour. Sales person called up and said what happened that's all. After that no call. I called back in the evening, they said that they have fixed it, I went in the evening the problem remained the same. Just wasted my time. Mr. Kumar said he will get an engineer to check the bike. Now I am in no man's land with no proper information and bike.
In my original mail I did not complain about the dealer, I clearly mentioned there is defect on my bike. But looking at today's reaction from dealers shop I am really disappointed and angry. The bike was already having a manufacturing defect and now the scratch on the right side of the fairing sticker. I don't know why dealers is reacting this way, it is like they knew already about the bike.
I have personally met Mr. Kumar from Kiran Suzuki Goregoan west and spoke on call with Mr. Mughal. I have given a brief idea about today's incident to both and now mentioning to Suzuki as I don't see any actions taken from both them.
How pathetic are the sales guys. Attaching image taken today of my bike at the dealer. Look at the image and tell me does it look like the bike has been dropped.

Thanks but i have tried R15 too.. it looks too short my height and with fantabulous rear seat design but literally lack of comfort makes it lose the cut.. And well recently came to know that Honda Hornet 160 is launching this December. And saw the bike at Revfest. I think Honda now too has come to the party. They, for a long time, were missing a sporty looking naked bike below 1L mark. I think that this would be taken care of with the Hornet. And going by the pictures too i think Hornet looks better than Gixxer 155 on any given day. Though it can be subjective too. And talking about the SF, a faired bike is prone to damage even if it falls while at halt. So i dont want any unnecessary expenses. Also i saw a drag video on youtube where Unicorn 160 beat Gixxer. So going by that and with Honda's assurance, i think Hornet will be huge success IMO.
But then lets wait and watch how things unfold.

Well I am astonished by the revelation of such an incident. The pictures don't seem to show the tilt or sticker damage. Can you focus, click and post again, probably in daylight. Also, take an opinion of on this matter from some experienced.
And what exactly do you mean by the tilted fairing? is it tilted inwards or outwards?
Besides all of this, how is the bike performing?

2-I does for mine too
3,4,6-Does your clutch lever have adequate free play. If not the clutch may be partially disengaged. This will cause faster clutch wear, loss of power, not accelerating as much as it sounds, and of course reduced Mileage.
BTW I get only 40-45kmpl from day one.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
But Hornet 160R being a Honda you have to deal with Expensive(better very expensive) Spare parts, below average ASCs and last but not the least absence of Engine Kill Switch.Originally posted by ani2607 View PostThanks but i have tried R15 too.. it looks too short my height and with fantabulous rear seat design but literally lack of comfort makes it lose the cut.. Thanks for the reply mate. Clutch does not engage fully. Even if I hold the clutch fully I feel the bike is trying to move.Originally posted by Alwin Tom View Post2-I does for mine too

That was my first post and within 30 minutes of my post I got a call from the showroom stating that I can come and change the clutch switch. That's really a quick response. Showrooms do follow XBHP!!

You are correct. But it feels good to know that the overall quality is superior than what others have on offer. Hence spare parts wont be required much cause spare parts are required jab parts kharab ho. :P ASCs i agree are bad. But then i will find some local mechanic. I guess folks here can help me with that. Talking about Engine kill switch, are you sure they are not giving that ? cause then it will be a huge disappointment. I hope they also bump up the power and torque figures a bit as said in many articles i have read. (Also i just keep on swooning over its pictures and as per the saying i have formed "Bikes look better in flesh then in pictures" so i am just waiting how good it would look when launched)
I guess the whole conversation here is going OT. :P
But then we are still doing a comparo with the Gixxer SF here, aint we?

Even i could not see any tilted fairing in pictures. You could use paint and highlight the tilted part and put both sides fairing side by side. Then it can actually show the differences.Last edited by ani2607; 11-27-2015, 01:29 PM.
