I guess folks here can help me with that. Talking about Engine kill switch, are you sure they are not giving that ? cause then it will be a huge disappointment. I hope they also bump up the power and torque figures a bit as said in many articles i have read. (Also i just keep on swooning over its pictures and as per the saying i have formed "Bikes look better in flesh then in pictures" so i am just waiting how good it would look when launched)

I guess the whole conversation here is going OT. [emoji14]
But then we are still doing a comparo with the Gixxer SF here, aint we?

    +1

Even i could not see any tilted fairing in pictures. You could use paint and highlight the tilted part and put both sides fairing side by side. Then it can actually show the differences.
Its confirm that there is no engine kill switch for Hornet 160.[emoji20]

After riding for 5km I get a burnt oil kinda smell from the engine. Is this an issue?

Thats sad. Now lets discuss whether no engine kill switch would suffice. :P
(I am just in love with this bike !!)

And if it looks anything less than how lovely it looks in pictures then Gixxer SF it is..

If we buy bike in December and get it registered in January then is the bike considered 2015 or 2016 model?what I mean is will it affect resale value.

I guess it depends upon the manufacturing date cause many a times you will see people suggesting to see the year of manufacturing as it directly affects the resale value. Registration is a mere formality to get the vehicle registered on your name. Although not sure about it.

It will be considered as 2015 model, because registration will be done with the manufacturing date in bike. Resale value depends on manufacturing date. In Papers you will have manufacturing date.

Correct me if I am wrong.

If one doesn't care about kill switch hornet should be a better machine!!
Kill switch is mainly used during traffic signals.

But we can know more about a bike from its 'Ownership and Experience' thread, waiting for one such thread for Honda Hornet 160.

How are you saying Hornet 160 is a better machine? Have you ever ridden one? I am not saying it is bad. But it is better to judge after it arrives on the road.
I don't think it is currently available to buy.

Not really. If the bike is under 500kms its normal, above it means there is an issue with piston rings worn out or oil seals damaged. Make sure u don't wipe the engine with mobil diesel mix, it causes these burning smell when it gets hot.

Brother its a unicorn with just different clothes. And you know unicorn engine has been decimating the rivals right from the moment it was born. Add to that more power and torque, shod with fatter tires, the best design for a naked bike currently and Honda's name to it and i think they have a winner at hands. (If you ignore Kill switch which i think most people will)

Though finer details can obviously be commented upon once the bike is launched. But let me tell you, people dont care about these finer details. Gixxer obviously is the best of the lot in this segment. But what numbers is it making? On an average around 5000 a month. Talk about Unicorn 160, it makes around 15000 a month and i would still say Gixxer is the best of the two.

While I agree that 70% of the people are gullible, the 20% in the rest are very rational.
btw, there is nothing wrong with Unicorn160 in comparison with Unicorn150. While rest is out of scope for this thread, do furnish statistics with your claims.

The Figures you have furnished are Gixxer & Gixxer SF. So i stick to what i said. Okay well lets make it 6000 a month.

And well now since you have furnished the details. See the FZ sales. Well those are again FZ+Fazer but just look at the number. It simply strenghtens what i said. People just dont care about the finer details. And i still would say Gixxer is the best of the lot SO FAR.

Also idk why you brought Uni 150 into this. I was comparing Uni160 and Gixxer. And yes Uni 160 is only better than Uni150 going by looks and all.

And one more thing. Where are the other 10% ? :P

                                ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Okay but first tell me Uni 150 ha been discontinued. Right?! Cause that was the presumption behind my debate and that the whole monthly numbers were just those of Uni 160.
