Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
The windshield is not all that useful for protection against headwinds. I suggest you to use a proper helmet, preferably not a motocross one, and also good riding jacket that can offer you some protection against wind. Ducking in at 55kmph is completely your choice. I can do 100+ kmph speeds without ducking in on a naked bike with good riding gears. Don't make yourself look desperate by doing that on public roads at low speeds :P That's all I can say :POriginally posted by amateur4 ever View PostGixxer sf black
I am facing constant wind hitting my helmet. Why is it so just at speeds above 55 km pH. Gixxer sf owners please please help and comment

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I have done speeds near 100kmph myself on other bikes like pulsar 150 older version. But never felt so much wind. All other bikes go past me calmly ..even 100cc bikes and I seriously feel like facing a storm. Bending at 55kmph looks stupid.Originally posted by srinath2494 View PostThe windshield is not all that useful for protection against headwinds. but I did once and a platina wizzed past me..rider Looked confused as to what was I doing bending at that pace... In that pose.
But frankly its useless why do they design it like that? I mean its so irritating.
I'm thinking ..have i made a mistake. Experienced riders and sf owners please help

How would you compare ur experience with driving a normal naked or semi faired bike. I feel it gives more wind on head due to fairing. Do you feel same or is it some issue with my bikeOriginally posted by CMJ View PostHi friends! Completed 5000Km on my Gixxer SF MotoGp Blue. Completely satisfied and loving the experience. No problem at all. Its giving me a constant milage of around 50kmpl. If I push it harder then milege drops to 45-48kmpl.I am preparing for Leh Ladakh trip in jun 2016. Looking for Saddle bag and tank bag for gixxer sf. Becouse I live in a small village in district Jashpur of Chhattisgarh I want to purchase it online. Please suggest me which one to order. Also recommend Riding Jacket, Riding Pants, Gloves, Boots too. My budget for Riding gears and saddle bag, tank bag is around 30000/-Thanks in advance.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I've done up to 116kmph on mine, but haven't felt any such trouble with wind up to that ,and I didn't even feel the need to tuck in.(and the bike reached that speed in a jiffy BTW).Originally posted by amateur4 ever View PostI have done speeds near 100kmph myself on other bikes like pulsar 150 older version. Only thing I can think of about your problem is that your helmet is loose ,and it could be catching some wind.
I don't believe this to be anything with the bike at all.
But if you do find anything else , please be sure to post it here to let us all know.

Ride safe.Last edited by Alwin Tom; 12-25-2015, 07:30 PM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Calm down. If you're using an off road helmet, first, change it. Correct your posture. Because, that is one thing that could be bothering you. Do not say it's useless point blank. It's not. Only a few like you would have complaints like this. I own a naked gixxer and I have ridden SF extensively too. Except for a little added weight and tough filtering capabilities in traffic, I don't find any difference. Just find a good riding posture and try to hide behind the windshield when doing higher speeds. Also scoot your legs properly behind the fairing. Get a good riding jacket and keep getting used to the bike. Stop thinking that your ride will be windy whenever you get on the bike. This will solve most part of your problem :POriginally posted by amateur4 ever View PostI have done speeds near 100kmph myself on other bikes like pulsar 150 older version. Not a dumb question i would say. It still troubles me when I think about it, but it is all good when i do it subconsciously especially while riding.
The easy way is to keep reminding yourself that the knob does not go 360 degrees and that keeping the knob horizontal is fuel "OFF". Then it is easier to work it out that the tail of the knob should point up for Reserve and down for Fuel ON.
Or was it the opposite?

Up is ON. Down is Res. Now about the lever, The fixed end of the lever (the one pointing at off) is the one that you point at ON for ON fuel flow and at RES for reserve. hope its clear
