Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hello.. does this Philips Bluvision throws yellow light or white light? I read reviews on Amazon where it says it has good white light. So is this worth buying and gives good visibility? Do you know difference between Philips Xtreme Vision - Crystal vision - Bluvision - Whitevision..? And of course, which is better for Gixxer SF.. as all of them are 60/ 55 W..Originally posted by kannanmr16 View PostH4 is a direct fit on Gixxer. I have Philips Bluvision 55w(H4) bulb and pass light is working. It's how the light is connected, that causes this. Please take it back to mechanic and show him.

All those are 55w. I only used Bluvision and bulb is still with me in good condition, just not using it now. It throws yellow light with a tinge of whiteness. Is better than stock. But I think xtremevision is better.Originally posted by sjv0110 View PostHello.. does this Philips Bluvision throws yellow light or white light? Not using because I could get a xtremevision from a car service center when I went there.Originally posted by sjv0110 View Postnot using now..? any specific reason.. I was wondering if long term use of 55w will cause damage to reflector
Damage to reflector, that I am not sure, but it is going to take time.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Dear all
I read nothing but praises about the Gixxer & the SF. As owners, can you let me know the negatives of this bike?
1. Apparently the Gixxer SF heats up due to the fairing.
2. Cold start seems to be a problem. Will Bangaloreans chip in please?
3. The rear brake is poor. This is known.
4. Starter motor has issues.
5. Hard gear shifts.
6. Narrow seats that cause discomfort.
7. Poor pillion comfort.
Anything else... ?

You quoted only Negatives. Do we have to choose by counting minimum Negatives or Max AdvantagesOriginally posted by rapperswil View PostDear all

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
1. My experience, not true at all. I have driven for hours (3hrs exactly) without break in 95-105 speeds. Nothing happened. Didn't feel the heat at all.Originally posted by rapperswil View PostDear all

2. Didn't have this either. But then every morning I kick start rather than use starter. Starts in one kick.
3. Yes, true.
4. Haven't faced this in over 6 months of usage. Maybe it was there in previously, but not now.
5. Yes, I blame the engine oil that the SVC uses. I have used a different oil and the difference is huge.
6. Seats could have been wider yes.
7. I don't take pillions for long rides. Just short ones and they didn't complain. Could be a different story if they sat for long.
One more thing. Short mudguards. They spray mud in heavy rain/sludge.

Which Oil do you recommend? My 2nd service is due in a week.
Also if you could elaborate on the difference observed, price and best source for the oil, that'd be great!
