Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Anything below 7500 rpm... but remember to vary the speed frequently as the run in period is not over until you clock 1600 kms on odometer...Originally posted by Rahul Sibadkar View Postwhat Is the ideal speed to ride after the first service?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Has anyone changed their headlamp bulbs on their SF. I have got a Philips bluevision H4 and have to get it installed and its no easy since the right side has to be removed.
Any one who has done, pls can u post a video or steps to follow. Any mechanic good at doing this around Chennai.
I didn't go to the SVC because this is a higher powered bulb and they may not help in fixing it.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I bought gixxer SF in black two days ago and its really awesome . This is the first time in my life I bought a new bike and you can call me noob . however I noticed that at speed after 35-40 the right side handlebar have some vibrations in comparison to left side regardless in what gear and rpm I'm at, On left side I feel nothing . Is this normal ?
2nd is engine really gets hot , I can't even touch it for more than 2 seconds Is this also normal for new bike ? I never ran the bike more than 4.5rpm @ 60-62Kmph
I personally feel that black is more vulnerable to scratches and swirls . A slight swipe by hands are enough to make permanent swirl marks on my SF . I'm thinking to get a Teflon coat after first service but is it worth it

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I would like to know the views of you guys regarding the size of this bike. Do you think a 6 feet tall, 85Kg person is not suitable for the Gixxer SF and the bike might look small? I saw a pic of one of the owner in this thread on whom the bike looked too small.

and i have seen this bike in flesh in my clg.
and it does look a little small for a tall guy.
but when you sit on it, your legs won't feel cramped.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
New engines tend to get very hot in the beginning and will be fine after first or second service.Originally posted by Siddharth Mehra View PostI bought gixxer SF in black two days ago and its really awesome . It's not teflon coating, do a wax after buying some quality product yourself. Slowly you will learn how to do it and also will be better than the cheap product used by SVC after paying too much.

Have you tried lubing the chain with some good chain lube also? Since you changed the oil, this is another area where we feel roughness in riding.Originally posted by sagar.sutar View PostIts just 500 kms on my Gixxer SF... and engine started to feel rough... i have changed the oil already after 400kms but its still havent made any difference... is anyone facing the same issue...

Yes... I'm going to lube the chain tomorrow... but i didnt understand the last sentence of yours. do you think its mainly bcoz of chain not lubed OR engine oil change?Originally posted by Pulsar220F View PostNew engines tend to get very hot in the beginning and will be fine after first or second service.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
There might be two reasons where we feel the bike is running rough, one engine oil(assuming that you changed it to the correct grade oil and the correct amount) and another chain not lubed or dry. After water wash/rain also sometimes I lube the chain since it may feel rough. When you are lubing, don't just lube it, clean it thoroughly and then lube. You may use diesel to clean the chain if kerosene or chain cleaner is not available readily.Originally posted by sagar.sutar View PostYes...
