Right now, you might feel that SF is nearer to the R15's capabilities. And it would be true in normal riding conditions that make the most part of our daily routine. However, the difference lies in the limit of the chassis and suspension. I would like to believe that R15 has higher limits in this regards, is more forgiving to the rider's mistakes and eventually allowing the rider to explore the capabilities of the wonderful chassis it is made with.

Gixxer SF will probably be not as forgiving, if you know what I mean. So basically, when the push comes to shove, R15 will show it's a superior package when ridden on the limit. Try it. Also, R15 is more track ready (it's best playground) than the SF.
Agree with everything you say here! But definitely not as noticeable on day to day basis which led me to this point of view and I wanted to understand what others think of it .

Exactly, not every motorcycle's worth is noticeable in normal riding conditions. Ride a Superbike in traffic and you'll wonder why is it so expensive. Doesn't mean it isn't worth its money

Dont rush over to complete your run-in period... its not good to hit highways just achieve more kms... The bike speed need to be varied for the first 1600 kms using all gears... do not ride at constant speed for long time... its important for mating process of an engine...

What I do ,, I start with low speed and low rpm ,, then go around 35-45 in 3rd gear , then same speed in 4th , then 55-60 in 4th gear and then again upshift to 5th gear and then lower to 2nd and 3rd gear @20kmph then go to 60 to 64, but never above 64 kmps and 4.5 rpm in whole process .. Is this good method ?

Completed my 1st service as it has been a month, though only clocked around 500kms on the clock. Had been keeping the RPM under 4.5k (ie about 60kmph) all the way, and since the past few days i have started to touch 70kmph occassionally.

First service cost was 640Rs, and only extra thing i had mentioned was to make the alignment of the headlight a bit better, which they obliged to. Also, the gear shifts are much much smoother now compared to earlier, with the bike responding to my wishes perfectly fine be it braking, cornering, speeding.

Really happy with the bike and awaiting the 1500km mark to unleash the beast!

PS: I am getting a small vibration on the backside of the seat when i go beyond 60kmph, though it is a very small one and i noticed it only recently. Evident when i ride alone especially. Not sure what could be the reason. Anyone experienced the same?

My RPM check was kept to 4k, so the light starts blinking as soon as i touch 60kmph

Have to check for any loose nut/bolt. Probably that is the case. Also, i have the tool kit under the seat, will try removing it before riding once and see if it makes a difference

                      Remove the toolkit.
                      Been there done that.
I think if you go through any potholes it'll cause an issue. or is the noise persistent on good roads too...?

Not much noise, just a small tickly sort of vibration on the seat and nowhere else. Handlebar, pedal, fairing all feels solid.

Tried it out today without the toolkit and seems like it has reduced. The vibrations seems to be when I ease out the engine from a higher RPM than when I am applying the accelerator. Will keep note of how it is going forward and keep you all updated!

Go to any hardware store... and buy Allen Key... and you can remove the fairing... buy horns which uses less than 3 Amp of power (and 12volts of course). Bosch ones are available on Amazon.in... it's simple plug n play horns... also consider changing your headlights with H4 55/60watts Philips/Osram bulbs...

                              I'm planning it too...

Went to see the Gixxer SF again today. Its a good bike. Drove the naked Gixxer and pick up was good. Found 2 things:

                                1. I am told that the MotoGP blue color fades with time. I think this might be true because the blue color on many vehicles is prone to fading. The showroom guys were like please buy the regular black or white and get the stickering done from local shops to convert it to the MotoGP edition.

                                2. The bike looks a bit small on me I guess. I got my photo clicked for reference. In contrast, I also saw a RS200 and it looks bit bigger and ok in size for a tall fellow.

                                I am so confused.
