And I could also take out the shade from that point. I think we can remove that shade opening these locks. Has anyone tried it?

Well the shade layer may come out by doing so.
But I wonder why do you want to do so. Bcoz, it really helps during hot sunny days and also during Rainy days. :-)

Moreover its the main part of the Motocross style helmets.

Hi everybody and hello to xBHP. Great job for creating such a page to share the gixxer owners experience. Well done. Also kudos and hats off.

Am a very proud owner of the Gixxer SF - Moto GP edition. From Sep 2015. Am from Tirunelveli. So after the second service of the bike @ 2042 km. I decided to drive my "Blue Beast" from Tirunelveli to Chennai (Where I work).

The distance I needed to travel was 647km. Well this was my first long ride on my first bike (Gixxer SF). Well as usual people around me advised me not to travel so long in a bike. They told "You will get back ache", "your bike will break down due to engine heat" bla bla bla. But my family supported me and also I have the passion to bike riding and believed my Gixxer SF. So I was very excited to travel long.

On Jan 30th 2016, morning 9:05am I started my journey towards Chennai with my riding gears (Protects body) and Helmet (Saves life). Well the journey was a new experience and filled my joy. I loved the way my bike was going. It went vroom vroom. I could easily reach a speed of 105kms on my Gixxer SF.

Overtaking vehicles, rolling over speed breakers, was awesome. I took a 1 hr break after riding for 250kms non stop. Took some snacks and lots of water. After which I again continued the highway journey. Again I took a second break for 45mins after riding 550kms.

Finally reached chennai at night 9:45pm. Its a awesone experience. I loved it. Overall the Gixxer SF is a great lovable bike to travel long as well as short distances. On my experience from this long travel, I conclude

      Bike performance - 5/5 stars

      Mileage - 5/5 (I got around 53kms)

      Handling - 5/5

Braking - 4/5. (No rear disk :-(. But front
      bybre brakes are awesome.)

Looks and painting - 5/5. (Turned heads where ever I went. Mostly while waiting in traffic or red signal.)

So. My first bike Blue Beast (Also call it Optimus prime - Transformers) Gixxer SF is incredibly awesome. :-) Thank you sooooooo much SUZUKI.

          Hello Guys,

Writing my first post to this forum after joining xBHP.

So I tried the DIY route to get the SUZUKI logo onto the Black SF. Bought the sticker pack for the blue one and asked if SVC can help to adapt it for black.

They refused so I had to cut out the blue potions from the Sticker pack and paste them on bike.

Below is how it looks now.

Well, it definitely adds flair to the rather vanilla black version.

PS: It was really tedious to cut out the SUZUKI portion and stick on the bike; even suffered air bubbles on some patches.

Surprisingly, they also offered the tank pad. Pic is below.

The advice that i am looking for is on the Horns. I am rather dissatisfied with the type of horn fitted as it definitely doesn't feels right with the persona of the bike.
It's sounds shrilly and screamy type. I would rather appreciate the one that is on FAZER FI if anyone here has noticed.

So, I looked at it up close and found FAZER FI has 2 of the horns fitted from MINDA; 1 Hi type Other Low type.
Our SF has also got the same MINDA horn but only single.

Will adding another horn to the bike (as in FAZER FI) affect the performance of the battery and add other effects on bike performance or not is my concern?

          Advice and comments welcome

I faced the same problem.. then I fitted my SF with R15's RVMs.. Its won't be perfect.. but much better than the stock ones.. then i didnt face the problem in traffic

And yes the Red color SF has already reached the dealership; I saw it yesterday at their workshop where I bought the Body graphic sticker.

I asked SVC guys also.. they told that the full swing arm assembly should be changed and involves various other parts as well.. estimated price was approx 12k.. really not worth it..

The truth is only the rim is needed to be changed and discs and master cyclinders are required which may cost 5k
But they want the whole piece of meat so they are marketing as you need to change the swing arm so there may be no difference between the drum and disc units.
                  Its a dirty marketing strategy

So guys in the above picture, whats shown is the fork cap of the front suspension fork. I just want to know, whether the part pointed at is the groove for the oil seal

                    if anyone knows, kindly reply
I am not sure but i will give a shot.. I think its for the ball bearings since its a fork assembly. That groove will also be packed with grease..

Yeah bro but it creates a drag on high speeds. I return from my job at morning 4AM so most of the times, I take my bike to 100-110 KMPH. At that time, this shade creates much drag force and when there's high winds, it really moves my head both sides. Also tried leaning down on bike but doesn't help much. So thought if anyone has done it, I could do it too. And we can always put it back in rainy days.

Motocross helmets apart from wind drag do not provide adequate safety. Better buy full face helmets.

Not marketing strategy. The swingarm needs to be changed along with the disk. The disc fits on the new rim. The brake caliper is fitted on dedicated spot on swingarm. That spot must be factory welded for accuracy. Drum brake swingarm doesn't need it since it rests on the axle. Same with old gen pulsar series. You can't fix disc brakes without swingarm change.
