I have not removed the filter cover which is held by screws, there is a rubber like thing which we can pull out.Originally posted by Srvn View PostI think he is talking about air filter cover.

I left it open for months and nothing happened.more air can get in to the engine,I just removed the rubber cap not the filter guard and my mileage have also not gone down either...Originally posted by debargha.kit2 View PostIf he is driving without the filter guard then rip to his filter
And if he is driving without the air filter itself then time to leave xbhp

One of my Friend did try to do that rear disc break and he told me it's a pain in the A, so he got back to his drum typeOriginally posted by John P Daniel View PostNot marketing strategy. The swingarm needs to be changed along with the disk. The disc fits on the new rim. The brake caliper is fitted on dedicated spot on swingarm. That spot must be factory welded for accuracy. Drum brake swingarm doesn't need it since it rests on the axle. Same with old gen pulsar series. You can't fix disc brakes without swingarm change. We have What's App Group for Suzuki Gixxer, so Much can be shared there and problem can be responded ASAP.

Yes. The brake pedal section is quite complicated. But nothing a good mech can't handle. Anyway, stock configuration is the best and least troublesome. I'd advice procuring all necessary parts and spares before entering into the modding. It'd even make sure the mech works with less tension since all parts are within arms reach.Originally posted by Rapper Deepak Arya View PostOne of my Friend did try to do that rear disc break and he told me it's a pain in the A, so he got back to his drum type

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I have done 1800 kms from the 1st servicing, since yesterday it feels a bit rough,1st servicing was done 3months ago, i can feel a little vibration in handle and near the brake pedal and gear pedal, also a little bit of burning smell after revving the bike few kms.Still the hard shifting problem persists, its veey annoying. Is it normal at 1800kms after 1st service?Should i go for the 2nd servicing immediately? My daily commute 50kms..Last edited by [email protected]; 05-28-2016, 12:56 PM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Stock engine oil is good for only 2000-2500k....I would suggest changing it, also no need for service just oil change is enough. Go with the recommended 10w40 semi synthetic oil until 3rd service.Originally posted by [email protected] View PostI have done 1800 kms from the 1st servicing, since yesterday it feels a bit rough,1st servicing was done 3months ago, i can feel a little vibration in handle and near the brake pedal and gear pedal, also a little bit of burning smell after revving the bike few kms.Still the hard shifting problem persists, its veey annoying. Is it normal at 1800kms after 1st service?Should i go for the 2nd servicing immediately? Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Did some sticker work on my beast! Didn't go for much as it will just spoil the looks. Used only the ones which should be on a Suzuki Gixxer SF.
The Suzuki Emblem above is the authentic one bought from a Suzuki Parts Dealer! This is a single piece sticker unlike the other ones which were cut on Radium sheets by the computer.
I also have a video of the same on YouTube - https://youtu.be/fnSw98gEuTg

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
i got some white carbon fibre vinyl and will apply that to the rear hand grads. its getting scuffed because of womens rings! sadly still no gf lol.
hope this will protect it somewhat.
So i put in motul 7100 20W50 this time.
the manual doesnt say i cant put this in, its just that this is a thicker oil and can withstand higher temperatures.
I can instantly see that the bikes engine tone has muffled a bit in the higher RPMs, and the gear shifting is so much smoother!
So far have done 50kms and it seems fine. previously i used to hear rattle after a bit of riding, its not so pronounced now. will return back with efficiency. stock service centre oil gave me 40kmpl. being a thicker oil, it might give less efficiency. lets see how bad it is
fingers crossed.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I have noticed a significant decrease in the bike's mileage which has came down to 32! The temperature nowadays usually lies in between 40-48 degrees in my city. However, I don't ride much in day. My daily commute is only going to job at 6:30 PM and coming back at 4:30 AM. Should I go for different class of Engine oil?

whcih one are you using right now? the oil doesnt get thinner than 10W40 if you use motul.
make sure you dont use too much throttle, and try to cruise on constant speeds. you might get the bike tuned. how many kms has it done?
also 6 months old now!

meticulous cleaning with proper tools and waxing each time and buffing it off does make it worth it! look at the deep shine.
i have gone offroad with it and had wet sand plastered on it as well. but wax saved it.
i use turtle wash and 3M premium wax. use a compressed sponge for washing and 3m micro fibre cloth to wipe it down. Then wax i with a sponge and buff with another micro fibre cloth.Last edited by de.das.dude; 05-31-2016, 05:22 AM.
