I'm sorry bro, I misquoted the price. I just checked my Amazon order history and the product page; the bulb is for Rs. 695. (original post updated)

    But its totally worth it.

    Thanks
Sure, here's the link! Don't bother the comments and the description being for cars. Its a 12V H4 type bulb which is exactly the socket that the SF has.

      2. If i exceed the speed limit of 60(4.5k rpm), Will there be really bad consequences? (everyday, I have to travel on a 10 km long relatively straight road and its not possible to maintain that speed on such a nice road )
      3. Why does the bike struggle so much in the first gear, 2nd and above its smooth.
First post here. Would love to hear your thoughts
PS:- Bike is MOTO GP rear Disc.
      1. No, only when your manipulating the gear shift lever. The only exception is 1st gear in stop and go traffic to prevent engine stalling. Also, learn to downshift as per speed and don't go click, click, click at 15 kmph to bring down 3 or 4 gears.

      2. Yes, you will not run-in the engine properly. Its new and tight. There's a reason why Yamaha and Suzuki put a rpm restriction in their fun-filled bikes for the first 1000 miles which translates to 1600 kms. Voluntarily vary the speed and don't keep it constant - just hold your horses for the run-in period.

      3. Gixxer and SF owners will shed better light than me.

      P.S. congrats and ride safe.

The bike's manual says to use a 35W bulb but I've been using this since around 6 months now without any issues. You can find better 60-65W bulbs but this one does the job nicely and I usually ride at night so that should mean something.

The official svc guys wouldn't change the bulb for you. Buy a bulb and get it changed by a local mechanic. It's easy and would not cost you more than 50 rupees (or 100, depending on your mechanic)

I have the original packing, so attaching a pic just in case...

What is the color of the light bro white or yellow??
Are u facing any reflector melting issue due to overheat ??
Have you added anything like relay or just plug n play??

Its yellowish in color but not as yellow as the stock bulb. No issues with the bulb/battery/reflector; using it for almost 6 months now. Not even a relay is required, its like you said - plug and play!

                Hi Gixxer sf owners,

I have been waiting to buy Gixxer sf with Disc brake , now i see many people reporting disc brake version does not have good braking power. Please advise if that is an issue in a particular batch or everyone using gixxer sf with rear disc felt the same.

Most manufacturers deliberately keep the rear disc brake bite low to avoid locking up. Especially on motorcycles that transfer a large chunk of their weight to front on braking. One motorcycle that does not do this is Avenger - due to the long wheelbase and steering angle, I think. IMHO, don't get eaten by group psychology - test drive and find it out yourself. There's no way Suzuki would have released this in the market if it's poorer than the rear drum w.r.t. braking power.

Go to aliexpress and search "mobile motorcycle bag"
Get the ones that has a cover and that can make your phone roughly waterproof
There are many vendors and the price is from 350 - infinite
Get the 6 inch or xl Variant
You wont have to change it in the future and it comes with sponge paddings so small phones will not jitter

                          Hi,
Just got my bike last week.Have already clocked 240kms. I've noticed to following not so likable things.
                          1. The transmission heats up a lot, Usually i get a burning smell out of it.
                          2. I've gone above the 4.5k rev limit twice. (touched 6-7k for 5-10 seconds). The engine heats up a lot after that.
                          3. Rear Disc lacks crisp and punch. Felt the drum unit was much better.
                          4. Horn is absolutely Bonkers.
                          5. Shifting gears is a nightmare and the clunking sound of gear shifts is really scary.(Heard it goes away with time)

Also i have to following queries.
                          1. Do you always have to hold the clutch when you are slowing down? (even though you are not down shifting).

Even I'm facing few of the issues mentioned.
My bike struggles in 1st gear, it feels as though it's approaching the redline even though it's around 5k rpm.(P.S only in first gear)
The engine heats up if ridden above 4.5 rpm.
Also my sounds a bit low comparatively.
(Mine is a naked gixxer 6 months old)

Bro that's the Best advice ever.

I think people need to develop an understanding before assimilating anyone's opinion...shortcuts in learning bike stuffs only creates confusion

Thank you, that's what I have learn't here. Some complaints might be genuine though. If it is, you guys have to write to Suzuki.

Every one almost wrote off GS saying it rusts everywhere pretty badly when the fact was only the initial batches had problems with fuel tank rusting - this Suzuki replaced free of cost even to people whose warranty was over. Other common places of rust are swing arm, center part of brake disc and exhaust cylinder head bolts - I found that unicorn and Yamaha's too rust badly here. Every make, machine in my apartment rusts badly due to the proximity to the sea. There are other general common misconceptions - Suzuki is heavy on pocket, after sales is bad and getting spares is difficult, etc. Most are made up. Some are true but its mostly the same across all brands. Frankly, I see no reason why my next bike should not be a Suzuki. If I change brands, it would be Yamaha mostly. Somehow, the manufacturers who sell less make the most fun-to-ride and reliable machines.

The rear disc might be weak, in that case, I recommend getting a drum brake version of Gixxer/SF which is more than sufficient.

My friend, I understand your frustration but please don't post both in Gixxer and Gixxer SF threads. And try to keep the starred words to a minimum :-D. If you don't treat your bike the way your dealer treats you, no warranty is required.
