ashwanth.r Wow, this is why I am a big fan of xBhp! Even a seller or person at SVC won't tell you in this detail. Infact in many cases they don't even know answers themselves. But then for all your help comes xBhp with awesome and au curant riders!

Thank you Ashwa! 😊

You are welcome. I have learnt most things from Xbhp only - and have recycled them and presented to you. Read different threads when you get time - we can learn a lot from other's experiences.

Guys is there any Bike cover specifically tailored for the SF? I visited my area's Suzuki spareparts store and they showed me GSX150's (Naked Gixxer) bike cover.

Nice to hear that. Is it the official suzuki bike cover or an aftermarket cover. Can you give me the Amazon link for the cover. Also if you happen to have the original package of the bike cover can you post a pic of that or can you post a pic of your bike with the cover on. I would really appreciate it. Thank you

(The spare parts store I visited seem to have lied to me that there is no specific Bike cover for the SF, in which case I will be shooting an EMAIL to Suzuki HQ)

Hi,
It's Been about 3 weeks since i got my bike. Blue sf with rear disc. 500km completed on the odo.
I do a lot of highway riding as my office is 30kms away from my home. I maintain a 4-4.5krpm and 55-60Kmph speed for the majority of the journey. The engine/transmission heats up a lot. I can feel the heat near my feet. After stopping i can smell a burning plastic smell from the engine compartment. Is it normal for the new bike? Also i have exceeded the speed limit (went up to 80kmph for a few seconds) and rpm (upto 6k rpm for a few seconds.) on 4-5 occasions. Will this cause any problem??. The first gear is very lethargic and by 4-5k rpm it feels like its reaching red line. Has anyone else experienced these problems?? are they normal or is there any cause for concern.??
Thank you.
Regards
Sagar.

Your mileage?
From your concerns it looks like it badly tuned
It has been the issue of many riders in the forum

It's completely normal . New engine with tight clearances shall have high friction as the parts wear in and seated . So more heat shall be produced . New paint shall also get baked by engine heat and give smell like that . At 500 kms you should take it to few bursts of speed after warming , nothing to worry . Only keep eye on usual things like engine oil level and fresh oil , tyre pressure etc and watch out for any parts or bolts that may come loose .

There is no noise or vibes. Just the heat. Will get back after the first service. Thanks

Just because you saw someone redline the bike in first gear on YouTube doesn't mean you have to do it too. Please don't destroy this bike, it's a very reliable machine.

Your are still in run in period, follow it. There will be initial smell like oil burning, this is quiet normal. There is no tuning required at this time, it will heat up since the engine is not setin...just enjoy the ride and follow the manual for first service.

Hi,My gixxer is 6 months old and I'm facing over heating issue.I'm getting a mileage of ~48kmpl(shifting gears @ 6k rpm) and the bike kinda struggles in first gear, it feels stressed @ just 4-5k rpm though it can redline. Is this the case of badly tuned (lean mixture)??
Also when I test rode my friend's Gixxer, even after doing 80-85 and shifting gears @ 6.5rpm the heat produced was less comparitevely.
Is my bike good?
Will this effect my bike's engine life?
Please help!!

Hello guys , I have completed around 8k on odo. Last week got my service done and asked them change oil.. after that the engine is getting hot very fast. It smells different and I could smell it sitting upright. Never had this issue before .
