Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Please dont provide such useless suggestions. Those mirrors make things far more worse instead of improving them. Do you have any idea why the original RVMs are as long as they are? If not then try to understand that first.Originally posted by Harshit Dave View PostYou can try to install P220 RVMs on the Gixxer SF.
As for your query, you can remove the Fairing mirrors and install the Handle bar mirrors from the Naked gixxer. Should cost you around 150 INR a piece. Your city maneuvering issue will be instantly solved. Also there is no need to go for any other mirror. Stick with whats designed for the bike and you should be fine.Originally posted by nitr0X1811 View PostI have a small query, the stock mirrors on the SF fairing are giving a lot of troubles while navigating through the dense Bengaluru traffic and hence wanted to swap them for the Naked Gixxer ones. For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Bro! Some people don't buy the P220 only because of the mirrors! That bad they are in terms of visibility! Definitely Naked Gixxer's handlebar mirrors, or even some newer bar end mirror designs look like they have good visibility (the one's where the mirror is above the handlebar grip like the Continental GT's, not below)Originally posted by Harshit Dave View Post

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
When is it recommended to replace the clutch and throttle cable? I know it depends on riding conditions / riding style and other factors, its just that I don't want to risk them getting snapped in the middle of a long trip. Right now its 7300kms on my odo.
Also, lately I am having incorrect readings with my fuel indicator. It updates very very slowly. So slow that it shows full when the tank if half full, and it shows empty by the time I fill my tank for a few days. What could be done?Last edited by icarious; 10-02-2017, 08:44 AM.Suzuki Gixxer SF Rear Disc + Carburettor Red (28th October, 2016-Present),

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Ideally cables last 2-2.5years or 25k-30k Kms, if you'd like to be on the safer side you could replace them at these intervals.Originally posted by icarious View PostWhen is it recommended to replace the clutch and throttle cable? Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
hi guys,
the bike is at 470km and after parking it today , the rear tyre area started squeaking near the chain at slow speeds.
1st service will be at 750km , am i supposed to take some care while riding to not make a mess of it, or is normal to ride till 1st service?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Ah thanks. Yes, I like to be on the safer side. Don't want the wires to snap in the middle of a trip. I don't have any knowledge whatsoever how to replace these myself. Ok, so there's time but I will do it around then. I guess I will make it a point to replace them when I replace the tyres.Originally posted by Srvn View PostIdeally cables last 2-2.5years or 25k-30k Kms, if you'd like to be on the safer side you could replace them at these intervals.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
But, replacing them by yourself is not very tough. You could check in svc's when mechanics work on these tasks on other gixxer's and there is always online videos to help you learn more.Originally posted by icarious View PostAh thanks. Also, always make it a habit of carrying spare cables and in case of need to change them, you could do it on your own.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Its not the replacement procedure that scares me away but the 'optimal' tuning. But I have to learn some of those DIY myself eventually. Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Idimetsu engine oil I believe 🤔🤔Originally posted by Pelasgain View PostHi guys,
Its been 14000 km now on my SF. The bike now rides like a hot knife on butter.
As for the good parts:
1. The gears change has become smooth and i can now launch my bike with ease.
2. The suspensions have toned down and now dampen undulations better.
3. The new engine oil is better, but i still have to give motul another try. (i dont quite remember the name right now. It was something from "I" some Japanese name. Checked the reviews for it before i gave a thumbsup to the SVC.)
4. Havent calculated the actual mileage, but its quite decent for me. I fill her up every 10-11 days given my average daily run of 48-50 km.
As for the Cons:
1. The RVM's have gotten a tad loose and getting them tightened is headache as the SVC guys yet dont have the required pliers.
2. Sometimes when i launch the bike (i.e. with proper clutch ratios and throttle opening rations in mind and not hard upshits and full throttle openings) and the gear shift isnt perfect there are vibrations on the left side of the handle but nothing on the right side which is a bit weird.
3. Headlights need to be upgraded
P.S. If any one can help with how to get the RVM's tightened.
