@icarious

I hear you. Thats usually how it goes with most SVCs in India I suppose. When I had my Activa, first service, same thing happened. Floor incharge tried to shoo me away. Straight up went and had a chat with Dealership manager and viola I was a VIP in there. But at the time I did not have good relation with the dealership and SVC personnel. I was new to the biking world.

2.5 yrs later, when getting the SF, got comfortable with all the dealership and SVC folks so everythings good, most of the time. So yeah apparently, your relation with those people is more important than their skills.

Thats correct, Gixxer has 140/60 Radials in the rear but hornet has 140/70 nonradial I think

I would advice not changing the tyre size or type and stick to what is recommended in your manual.

As it happened when I got my Gixxer SF last year, Animesh was overcharging around 3k than what Tanishq was quoting so I cancelled my booking with Animesh and finally settled with Tanishq. The service quality of Tanishq is a hell lot better than Animesh too. Just a tip.
Oops, I have already made the dp before posting here. Thanks icarious for the PDI help. Got my babybusa last sunday from the fresh stock, the sales manager Mr. Pijush Ghosh (Rana Da) is my "parar dada" so got a good treatment there, even they gifted my friends and my gf dairy milk when handing over the keys, Got the motocross helmet at a bargain price of 1950. I personally feel that rapport is everything in the SVC, i owned a xtreme before and my thinking towards RAJA hero is like they are complete A*****e. one day saw a guy with passion Xpro getting entry in the service area, chatting with the guys, later came to know he is a friend of one of the sales guys. Thus, hoping the best from Animesh.
PS. i love the 1st floor of the showroom, Intruder and GSX's.. uff what a place..

i faced the issue some months back. the fix is simple, carbon deposit inside the key plug(where u put the key for ignition) go to service centre and tell there is carbon deposit inside they will open it up, clean it qnd put it back. Problem solved!

15T front sprocket, 45T rear, 132-links, 428 Pitch, O-ring chain. Rolon is one of the best and is available in most two-wheeler spare shops. Get original.

Ok. Thanks bro! So its not necessary to go to svc to get the spare and chain sprocket set of this brand and spec can be used bought from outside?

Are yo using this?

Yes, am using a Rolon on my GS. There might be other good brands like Diamond. OE for GS is DID, I don't know what it is for Gixxer 155 and SF. Also, Rolon can't be purchased at SVCs. You can get them at a reputed two wheeler spare shop and get it fitted yourself (if you have the tools and time) or with a local mechanic. You can DL the catalogues here:

L.G.Balakrishnan & Bros Ltd.

Did anyone used chain sprocket set of other brand of same specs from outside shop instead of the stock provided by the svc on their gixxer sf? Please give the details.

Hi guys! I purchased a Gixxer SF FI ABS version recently. It's been two weeks. I noticed that the engine kind of gets heated up. On the first day, it heated up and stalled. Today again it stalled and after starting, it was showing the malfunction light but it stopped glowing after sometime. Can you guys tell me if there is anything I should be concerned about?
Thanks in advance.

Interesting.

I had a talk with the AM a couple of days ago as I mentioned previously. Heres the thing and theres some logic to what he said which I cannot deny.

As per my observation, the rear swingarm is indeed not aligned with the chassis of the bike. This can be seen visually if you know how to look for it. For a more solid proof, the front and rear sprockets are not in a single plane. If you measure distance between a central point on the chassis and the ends of both the arms of the swingarm, the length will not be the same. Also after about 10k kms you will see an uneven wear on the rear tyre.

However, despite all of the above issues, I havent felt any instability; not on the highway, not in the city, not on the track and neither is there any kind of Pull to one side.

Now I am not a mechanical genius or a physicist but if the observations I made would have caused any problems, I would have felt something wrong with the functioning of the bike by now, which I havent. The handling and maneuvering capabilities remain solid.

The AM checked the chain and had said theres no accelerated wear of any kind. He also offered to replace my swingarm if that helped me to get over "my" issue but I knew for a fact that replacing the swingarm was not the answer. The problem is with the chassis and where the swingarm attaches to teh chassis.

Anyways I turned down the offer simply because if he went into replacing the swingarm, the bike would have needed to sit in the SVC for a couple of days. He gave me his assurance that if anything goes wrong prematurely, he will take care of it.

Finally the question that popped in my mind was, what if theres a problem with the chassis itself and not the wheel alignments? What if the chassis is the culprit?
But anyways I have spent a rather large chunk of my time worrying about trivial issues that concluded to nothing rather than enjoying the bike.

As long as the engine runs smoothly and I dont get any instability, I am fine with what I am riding.

Also I partially disagree with your observation. Its not just the 1st Gen BS3s. The latest 2017 SP SF ("Eruption edition") that arrived at my dealership 5 days back has the same swingarm offset.

If there was something wrong, there would have been a massive recall. In the end it seems like a subjective cosmetic defect after all.

Did you get it repaired at teh SVC? If not then take it to the SVC first.
Can you send the pictures of your swing arm . Because even I own a late 2016 BS3 edition SF and even I'm skeptical about the alignment of swing arm with the chassis.

Give me some time. I will try to take accurate images and illustrate the observation with Axes and what not.

Hi guys..

I've Gixxer SF 2015 model, run around 14000 km.
I'm facing a problem from last 6 months. Sometimes bike suddenly stops and don't accelerate over 3k rpm. That time If I try to accelerate quickly then it turns off but if I accelerate slowly it don't go over 3k rpm and turns off in couple of seconds. But starts working properly after switching off and on few times.
Faced this issue around 5-6 times in last 3-4 months.. Changed both oil and air filter but of no use. Service center engineer not able to tell and detect what issue it is.
If you know or have faced such issue let me know what the problem is and how to resolve it.
Thanks

Hi if this is the carburettor model then please have the carburettor cleaned, change or clean the sparkplugs. If this is the fuel Injected model then please have the SC clean the fuel injectors and do a full engine flush.

Hey thanks for the reply..

Should I take it to service center or getting it done through a local mechanic will be fine.

Purchased my black gixxer sf carb version 24 days back. I literally stalked the bike on youtube, instagram, facebook and even in real life. I read each and every review, saw each and every video realted to the bike and made my mind to buy gixxer sf. My choice was always the black version with red. The bike is super smooth on highways and really flickable and torquey in narrow streets. Didnt get to explore it really well. Instrument cluster is really superb. It has everything-3 types of trip meters, gear indicator, rpm indicator...and it is visible in the brightest day also..
Delievery was good, got a discount of about 5000 rupees and a benetton watch worth 4999 rupees through gold rush offer. And suzuki logo key chain.
Overall build quality is not top notch but good. Ground clearence is low but the bike bottomed out on just one speed breaker so far and that one was really sharp and badly constructed.
Bike looks pretty big in real life. Gixxer sf is a stare magnet, people get there eyes glued to the bike.
One problem or u can say a glitch that i think for now is engine heating, it heats up pretty quickly and pretty much. But that wont be a deal breaker.
I didnt go for the abs one coz i test ride the normal version and found the brakes to be pretty good and im not a really fast rider also.
Looking forward to munch more miles and to go on long journeys. Will post more as i ride more.
