Do check the PDI thread at https://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcy...on-thread.html . Also given I am from Kolkata, if you have not done already then do take a quotation from Tanishq Suzuki too. As it happened when I got my Gixxer SF last year, Animesh was overcharging around 3k than what Tanishq was quoting so I cancelled my booking with Animesh and finally settled with Tanishq. The service quality of Tanishq is a hell lot better than Animesh too. Just a tip.

Hello guys. Hope everyone is enjoying their life with Gixxer SF.

Now heres a recent update regarding my issue and how it was resolved.

I have clocked around 23000kms in my blue beast. Bought the bike exactly 2 years before. Around 4 days back I heard some noise from the front disc brake, while i ride the bike. Some stratching type noise from the disk brake. So I showed it to a local mechanic and he advised me that the disk pad might be worn out.

So went to the nearby suzuki showroom. Asked for front disk pad set and paid 351rs (including GST), then went to the local mechanic again and replaced the disk pads (just 5 mins work) gave him labour charge of 50rs.

And tadaa.. the sound was gone. And new brakes for my blue beast. So total expenses was 401rs. :-).

Hey there. I dont have a full list of all spare parts details. But know the rate of some parts which i have already replaced in my bike.

              1. Engine oil filter - 43rs.
              2. Air filter - 117rs.
              3. Chain sprocket set - 1650rs (both front & back sprocket along with chain).
              4. Front disk brake pads - 351rs.

Hope this helps u little. :-)

I think I have seen somewhere in the thread that it is due to over tightening of chain. But not sure if that is exactly the problem. Hope someone in this thread helps us out in this issue.

Phasing out early generation older schemes is nice too in the sense it provides a rarity value to those old models. I haven't seen much of my 2016 Plain Double Disk Red out here as much as I have seen people riding around the MotoGP Edition Blue. So ya, the variety is great for people who like to stay apart.
I have one of 2016 dual disk Candy antares Red Bike. I agree that this color is rare to see on road. I see mostly the blue ones on Bangalore roads.

Just got over with my 5th service last week (6900 kms on odo) and the issue of engine vibes started kicking in post 2k on odo. I repeatedly told them to fix the vibes during each service -- they tried adjusting the tensioner chain etc but it persists. I am beginning to think this may not be the smoothest of the Japanese bikes (in the likes of Unicorn 150 / Yamaha) that I thought this to be. The vibes are still bearable. I just wish it was butter smooth and vibe free.

There are many owners who say that the vehicle vibe free and very Smooth. It used to be Smooth initially. Now I hear a lot of different sounds from the engine. Those are clearly audible while wearing helmet. Not sure if it is normal.

It is still smooth for me at around 20300 kms on odo (less than a year old). How many km have you clocked?

I'm facing this little problem with the fuel indicator, when I switch on the ignition it sometimes shows fuel level at the lowest , then i have to switch off and restart, then it shows the actual fuel level... this used to happen very rarely in the start, but now it happens very frequently. Please Help !!! Thankyou

                              Hello friends,

I got my gixxer sf with rear disc in October 2016. Haven't had time to explore it as just 2067 kms done so far. But I loved its performance and handling on the only out of city ride of 45 kms each side. No problem noticed so far as such.

I have a query, I find its suspension to be on the harder side (actually more so due to my sensitivity for the lower back pain). Monoshock is set I think at point 3 !!. What can be done to make it a slight softer. Plz suggest, I need this slight adjustment. Should monoshock be set at 4 or 2 to make it softer.

One adjustment I have done recently is that got extra foam padding done inside seat cover to make it softer ! Its effect is yet to be seen. is it Okay?

Riding gears are already bought long back. Getting some luggage, and soon will start longer rides. hence needs you experienced riders guidance. I am new to the bike world. Have been a long distance hardcore car traveler since 2009 though

                              thanks

A1. Above 3 is towards stiffer side, below is softer. So you might wanna go 2 or 1
                                A2. Thats fine
A3. If you are gonna install rear panniers or anything of the sort then you have to keep your rear shock at 3 or above otherwise the rear will start hitting the rear tyre on bumps with extra weight on the back.

I believe to go down the preload numbers its clockwise spin.
