More than half tank , it's something with the fuel indicator I guess or may be something electrical, it basically shows empty tank sometimes even if there's fuel in the tank, so have to switch off and on to get it right

[QUOTE=MotoBlizzard;1312159]A1. Above 3 is towards stiffer side, below is softer. So you might wanna go 2 or 1
          A2. Thats fine
A3. If you are gonna install rear panniers or anything of the sort then you have to keep your rear shock at 3 or above otherwise the rear will start hitting the rear tyre on bumps with extra weight on the back.

I believe to go down the preload numbers its clockwise spin.

          Thanks a lot.
No, I won't go for panniers or likes, will use saddle bag when taking up longer rides.
Yes, I think going to no. 2 on monoshock would be ok. However, I'd wait for few longer rides to see my endurance and real situation before changing. I al also doing regular stretching exercises for strengthening lower back and neck muscles as this biking bug has bitten deep

          Will update

Might be a problem with the float or the resistor. Get it checked/replaced at SVC

Also given I am from Kolkata, if you have not done already then do take a quotation from Tanishq Suzuki too. As it happened when I got my Gixxer SF last year, Animesh was overcharging around 3k than what Tanishq was quoting so I cancelled my booking with Animesh and finally settled with Tanishq. The service quality of Tanishq is a hell lot better than Animesh too. Just a tip.
Animesh svc guys are one the laziest mechanics i ever saw. The floor manager too is a worthless. Gave for bike service for accidental case. Needed 3 hr to work on it, they took 3 weeks and at the end of the 3rd week, still no work done. Complained to shwroom manager and got the job done but still some problems still exists the mechanic skipped. I got a total headache. Today am gonna f**k them all up.

Met with a side collision with a bike which came from right hand side road inspite of his side signal being red.

After collision, felt smwhat unusual thing with the gear lever. The distance from the foot rest to the shifter felt more and i have to strain my feet more to change the gear up or go more up and press to gear down. Do anyone met with a same prob. Or what may be the exact prob be?

Yes plus they overcharge on on road price too citing all non-sense. Had to cancel my booking and turn to Tanishq near Behala (which is quite far from my place). 2 months back as it was raining I decided to visit Animesh's workshop in New Town and the guy messed everything up. Front Disk and the Chain. Well, take my advice, if things don't work out between you and Animesh, try visiting Tanishq in behala. I am not saying that they are 'world class' when it comes to service quality but they are not rude. You can make them listen. The floor manager is polite. There is a mechanic called Prasenjit who does a decent job.

So this message is for everyone out here. The service mechanic messed up with my Carb settings in my recent service when I reported him of vibes @ 4500-5000 RPM. After this, the bike was feeling jerky in 1st and 2nd and was becoming a nightmare in stop and go traffic. I wish I had stopped him from touching the factory carb settings. Until now I never considered learning to tune the carb but I did today to fix the issue myself. Even though the tuning feels a hell lot better, but I can't seem to get the RPMs rock stable in default idle (1500 RPM when warmed up). I tuned the carb by setting the idle to 3000 and got it to stable but as soon as I return the idle to default the rpm sort of fluctuates (+- 500). Should I ignore the erratic rpm in default idle as long as the tuning keeps the higher rpms sable?

Can everyone out here with expert knowledge share their carb settings (turns) from the leanest most point (when the bike is just ABOUT to stall) for the Gixxer? I want to know the average sweetest point everyone who tuned the carb themselves are getting. I am not much mileage hungry, I just want to bike to perform and stay stress-free and cool.

Also what is the factory setting from the leanest or the tightest most spot of the screw?

Buddy, YOU had the collision. How can we tell you whats wrong with your shift lever?

Maybe go to a showroom and compare the shift link and shift lever with a new bike and see if anything is out of place.

Also there is no need to get all angry and riled up. If you are having problems then send an Email to Suzuki. Dealerships get really scared when they get a call from Suzuki HQ regarding customer complaints.

P.S: This forum is not a place to vent your frustrations. And try keeping foul language to yourself please.

You mean this is the factory default from the tight most position? No other hacks required or the factory setting is just fine?

Watch the video (11:00 onwards). If you havent replaced any component with an aftermarket that affects the Carb, the factory setting is what you should be aiming for.

Just finished watching it. The guy is really very precise. Thanks for the link.. No I didn't add any aftermarket stuff.

I am not sure if I am qualified to answer this query. But I have seen the guy in Tanishq trying to straighten out my shift lever using a pipe like rod as part of regular service. The shifts felt a lot smoother (may be cause he fixed the angle). Not that I dropped my bike or had an accident, it was just a regular service. So I wonder if its possible to fix your distorted lever.

They are much better in 'sincerity' of attending you and their behaviour. Make sure you stay with your bike (just keep a little distance but don't leave and sit in the waiting area even if the cleaners and janitors ask you to) and tell them every issue you face when they are filling your job sheet. The best thing is, the mechanics test ride the bike 'before' and 'after' servicing it and asks you to take a ride and come back if you have any issue. Have a word with the mechanic before he takes your bike for a test ride. Tell him everything. Here is the link to their showroom / SVC https://www.google.co.in/maps/place/...3!4d88.2747532 . Ask for a guy called Prasenjit. As for Animesh, I also noticed that they overcharge a little for servicing too. Tanishq charges Rs. 100/- for chain lubing and they do it real nice. Animesh quoted Rs.200/- for the same from me the last time for the same.
