I recenly saw that my bike chain looked too dried off and brown patches were seen as if they were rusted. Also the gear shifting was a bit harder. so immediately I went to a popular automobile shop nearby and bought a chain cleaner and chain lube spray of AutoFOX. Now after applying it the chain looks wet brown patched gone and the gear shifting has also improved to much smoother. Has anyone used this AutoFOX brand.? it it ok.?? Does this impact my chain warranty??? I choose this because for me Motul brand was quite highly priced at around 300rs.
Yes, it was a good decision to buy a chain cleaner and lube. It increases the life of the chain and makes the bike run smooth.
The brand is not known to me, but it will work. Motul sure is expensive but it is more sticky and lasts long. 3M, Rolon and TVS chain cleaner and lube are other options you can try. All are good with little price difference.
No cleaning and maintaining the chain will not impact the warranty in any way. It is recommended to clean and lube the chain regularly to increase its life.

The brown patches are the rust patches, it happens when the chain is not lubricated. Happens more during rainy season, as the lube gets washed away quickly and the water starts corrosive action on metal. Clean and lube the chain regularly to prevent this. There are lots of opinions on how often should you clean and lube your chain. Some do it after every 500 kms, some say it should be done after every 700-1000 kms. I just check the chain when I clean the bike(sundays), if it looks dirty or dry; I clean it and lube it, no matter how many kms it had done. Usually you have to clean and lube the chain more in rainy season because the water washes the lube and dirt and mud sticks to the chain. Hope this helps brother. Ride safe.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Ya thats exactly the price I also paid. Cheers. :-).

Not an expert in this, but I think paint thinner is too strong liquid. Even petrol is not suggested to clean the chain. Kerosene and diesel are good for chain cleaning.

I am getting my bike's chain cleaned by water washing guy with paying an additional of RS 10. He will clean it by applying diesel using brush then a high pressure wash.

Clean it with kerosene it cleans very well. I would suggest spray kerosene using empty collin bottle.

Hey guys did anyone find out solution to chain problem .too much sound is still coming in 4th & 5th gear from chain most probably. Suzuki mechanic & my dealer in dehradun are very bad & not listening to the problem at all. I have filled & sent feedback form to company .but there is no response .there is no email of company nor any customer care number. What am I suppose to do other than a court case which is a last option .

No, don't use paint thinner. Not recommended. It may do more harm than good.
If you find chain clean spray expensive, Diesel will be the cheapest option. apply diesel liberally on the chain with an old tooth brush, then use an old cloth to wipe the chain or use strong water spray to wash off. Then use the chain lube spray as normal.

Happy to help brother. I have been riding a R15 V2 for more than 2 years now. So I have a bit of experience in maintaining a sports bike. I'm glad I could be of any assistance. Ride safe. Cheers

Is it possible for you capture that sound in a video/audio if possible?

                          Hi Guys,

I have recently bought this super machine. I really love this Blue beauty, but unfortunately I made a small crash in its "sports fairing".
Later on I did a makeover with the sticker, which absolutely hides the crack.

See the attached image below. It might be helpful for someone.

Cool man... I also have a scratch in the same place nearby.. I can also do like this. Buy I wont.!! bcoz I could see lots of eyes falling on my bike. In tamil its called (Kan Drishti).

So in order to reduce this, the stratch will help. (example: For cute small babies their mom keep a black round kajal in the cheeks). So small scratches are always good according to me.. 😉😎

                            • A newbie seeking suggestion from the tourers

Guys i own a gixxer sf
                              Need suggestion from the tourers
Been involved in some sort of trips activity
The bike is performing is well enough for 70-90 kmph cruising speed throughout the highways.
Recently did a 160 km ride
(i know its a puny number not worthy of being trip but none the less someone has to start somewhere right?)
While returning i discovered somesort of rattling noise is coming from the engine
I stood by the svc while returning and they told the timing chain and the adjuster is on their last threads
But the mechanic who has been like a family friend adjacent to my house told me nothing is wrong with the engine and the sound is coming from the exhaust
Im in a dilemma what to do?
I'll try to simplify the problems

1.ratting noise after some 50-60 km
2.after cold start it seems someone is dragging your bike from the rear end
It goes away after 2-3 km

Can anyone help me with the problems?
Others are telling me its nothing major and it can be rectified on the next service but i am too much skeptical about my bike
And yes my bike is over a year old and i have done all the services and runned in my bike according to the norms and i take good care of her
Now running on the idemitsu ss oil

It would be helpful if someone guides me

And moreover i have a 400 km trip next month
(Still its a meagre number compared to what the pros have done don't laugh please)
Would someone please tell me how much time can i cruise at a time at 70-80 without killing the bike before i take a break?
I know its a silly question but I'm new to this genre and couldn't find anywhere else other than xbhp to ask the questions anyway it would be helpful if someone guides me what should one do in these kinds of trips
