Thanks ..will go for shell advance ultra 10W-40. That's the same one right .. On amazon for rs.700 right now ..

It seems to be an old product as people mentioned in the reviews. So check carefully before buying it. U can always get it from any shell station and they ll replace it for you.

I have booked Gixxer SF last week,On road price here in Kolkata is Rs.103691,I have opted for a finance for 1 year for Rs.52000 @ 10.75 %,the dealer asked me to pay Rs.60000 as Down Payment and Rs.4800 monthly for 12 months,bank is charging processing fess of 5% which is included in the Down Payment.I am paying Rs.14000 extra in which around Rs.6000 i am paying as Interest and Rs.2600 as processing fess.My question is whether the dealer is tricking me or not? bcoz still i am paying Rs.4000-5000 extra odd amount excluding processing fees and interest.Pls help me guys,dont want to pay extra amount for nothing.

I did this long back and think will never install those stock mirrors for SF ... Also the new gsxs 1000f also has mirrors on handle bars and that convinced me .

Can you guys post some pics of the naked gixxer mirrors? Also when you remove the stock mirrors, that area hosting the stock mirror wont look un finished? What did you do with the stock mirrors? like they exchanged the mirrors or you have buy new?

I have booked Gixxer SF last week,On road price here in Kolkata is Rs.103691,I have opted for a finance for 1 year for Rs.52000 @ 10.75 %,the dealer asked me to pay Rs.60000 as Down Payment and Rs.4800 monthly for 12 months,bank is charging processing fess of 5% which is included in the Down Payment.I am paying Rs.14000 extra in which around Rs.6000 i am paying as Interest and Rs.2600 as processing fess.My question is whether the dealer is tricking me or not? bcoz still i am paying Rs.4000-5000 extra odd amount excluding processing fees and interest.Pls help me guys,dont want to pay extra amount for nothing.

Dont pay a penny above Rs. 103691. I would rather suggest you take a bank loan for 5 years and finish it up in the first 3 yrs itself. This arrangement will not be much different. Its way sorted bro.

But dont pay a singel rupee above that amount

So I will be booking the gixxer sf in a few days....and yesterday i test rode the bike....and felt that the pick up of the bike was not that great....in fact I felt it was same as my Honda activa.....so is that a problem...?? And is the pick up of the gixxer sf not that good??...BTW the bike that I test rode yesterday was a new bike...

The pick-up will suprise you after the run-in. Of course you cant expect pickup of a 200cc or an r15 or more. But the pick up is sufficient for daily commuting and overtaking. Maybe you should test ride someones naked gixxer, there are many out there. It'll give you a fair idea (pun not intended )

Can you guys post some pics of the naked gixxer mirrors? Also when you remove the stock mirrors, that area hosting the stock mirror wont look un finished? What did you do with the stock mirrors? like they exchanged the mirrors or you have buy new?

I have closed the stock mirror hosting with the same colour nuts.. I got them at a very small local shop ..

Guys what's the ideal time to get the 3rd service done .. I have done around 5300km right now and 2nd service was done at 3000km.. I feel the engine is very gruf now and gets heated easily... The manual says around 7000km ..

Got my bike and almost drove 500 kms... I hear a wacky sound and I guess it is from the chain. When I accelerate there is no sound when I stop accelerating and the bike is on move, I hear that tack tack tack sound which is disgusting. Should I go to the service guys to fix this or there is a quick fix which I can do it on my own? Please help.

You need the chain tightened. Check if you can move the chain up and down more than 20mm, if so then you need it tightened. You can do it but the SC should do it for free.

Thanks ..it was not actually polishing, just a diesel wash.. I think that's what they did ... They applied diesel to the disc ... But its been more than 2 weeks now and its bad .. May I will try to wash the disc with detergent like u said and check else on the next service will check with svc and change the disc pads.

Same thing happened after my first service. Just use alcohol to wash the disk. leftover vodka/rum would work too. rinse of with lots of water.

So guys I test rode the Suzuki gixxer SF today ......and the gear shifting of the bike that they gave me for test ride was not that smooth...so I asked them about this..and they told that as it is a new bike..that's why the gear shifting is not smooth and it will be okay after 1st service....so is it normal for new bikes to have such type of gear shifting????

common problem since they are assembled in haste. I had prob with 4 to 5th shift and they fixed it at first service. Now its super smooth!

Hey guys, i have a problem with my bike shutting off once i come to a stop with the clutch held, it started yest after i slowly dropped my bike at a standstill and yest was also the first time i managed to do a high speed run. When i start the bike it runs at 1k and slowly increases to 1.5k. Any clue what may be the problem? How long will it take to get fixed at the svc? My bike was completely fine before yest.

Your clutch cable needs to be tightened, as your clutch is slipping. This gets worse with using for a while since clutch metal expands with heat. Its an easy fix. You can do it too, follow the manual.

Why bother? Just changing the filter hardly makes any difference in performance. You need to change the jets in the carb to use the extra air you will be allowing in.

Bro get it financed by HDFC. HDFC will give loan of the ex-showroom price, rest you pay in EMI. I took it like that over 2 years. 4500 emi.

Haha! You need to open the throttle up to get the full grunt, else the system is such that it doesnt give full performance. This is so that you can have good economy as well as great power. I get around 45km/l in city and i dont even turn off the engine at stop lights.
The engine really opens up after the first service and it really wants to rev hard. Unlike scootys, you will find power only after 6K RPM.
But still this engine has so much torque that you can literally start off riding in 1st gear without applying any throttle. This is visible in 250cc + bikes.

Check if your engine oil is at the correct level. My engine sounds loud after 6K RPM too, dont know what thats about.

Do you mean gruf as in performance dips like when you run low on fuel? if so make sure there is no cloth in your storage space. if its all clear get the carburetor tuned. Probably the jets have clogged from bad fuel which had dirt in it.
