Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
They won't fit. The stock forks are 41mm. So you need to find 41mm cliponsOriginally posted by Devilsfdey View PostAre these clipon bars will fit on gixxer sf ?https://m.ebay.in/itm?itemId=391367761190
And even if you find the 41mm clipons, it won't be a direct fit. Someone has installed it and is facing some problems with it. You can google it.

Hey I completely agree on the 41mm clipons, but its nowhere mentioned on the ebay site that it is not a 41mm clip on. So I guess one will have to confirm that whether what size they are, and 1550Rs is pretty cheap, thats great.
Also, I would like to know your opinion on the images shown. The handlebar is directly and closely fitted to the forkholder, which I think may be a good fit because it wont touch the head of the bike unlike the guy who has put the continental gt clip-ons, which are spaced more comparatively and hence touch the head. So I see a light at the end of the tunnel (of clip-ons
)
What do you think?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
So guys I test rode the Suzuki gixxer SF today ......and the gear shifting of the bike that they gave me for test ride was not that smooth...so I asked them about this..and they told that as it is a new bike..that's why the gear shifting is not smooth and it will be okay after 1st service....so is it normal for new bikes to have such type of gear shifting????

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hey guys, i have a problem with my bike shutting off once i come to a stop with the clutch held, it started yest after i slowly dropped my bike at a standstill and yest was also the first time i managed to do a high speed run. When i start the bike it runs at 1k and slowly increases to 1.5k. Any clue what may be the problem? How long will it take to get fixed at the svc? My bike was completely fine before yest.

It wont take much time if its the Idling issue. They may charge you for this, because they open the side panel and adjust/ test the rpm with a deviceOriginally posted by Tloren View PostHey guys, i have a problem with my bike shutting off once i come to a stop with the clutch held, it started yest after i slowly dropped my bike at a standstill and yest was also the first time i managed to do a high speed run. Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
This is a common issue for all gixxers. New ones have tight great change.Originally posted by suvam dash View PostSo guys I test rode the Suzuki gixxer SF today ......and the gear shifting of the bike that they gave me for test ride was not that smooth...so I asked them about this..and they told that as it is a new bike..that's why the gear shifting is not smooth and it will be okay after 1st service....so is it normal for new bikes to have such type of gear shifting????
I have covered 2700km as of now. The shifting is better than before, but it's still a little tight. Also it's time for chain lube too.
I change the engine oil to Mobil1 Racing 4T full synthetic 10w40. I will let you know how it performs after.

As some one mentioned here does changing oil from stock to a different one before free services voids warranty ? Is it true ? I am planning for the shell advance ..Originally posted by Abhilash Sekhar View PostThis is a common issue for all gixxers. New ones have tight great change.

I installed Naked Gixxer's handle bar mirrors on my SF.. feels better while driving, better visibility and handling in traffic. My major issue was stock mirrors got loose, so used to move on a typical bumpy ride.Originally posted by rapperswil View PostIt is possible they polished your front disk rotor due to which the pads are not able to find grip. My experience suggests this will take longer than 2 days. You might want to use detergent soap and wash the disc rotor.
'Polishing' is a scam.

Hello all
I guess the mount for RVMs on the handle bars are standard across various manufacturers. Has anyone tried fitting any model / FZ's mirrors on the Gixxer SF?
Local dealer has no RVMs for the Gixxer. I would like to remove the mirrors on the fairing.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I did this long back and think will never install those stock mirrors for SF ... Also the new gsxs 1000f also has mirrors on handle bars and that convinced me .Originally posted by sjv0110 View PostI installed Naked Gixxer's handle bar mirrors on my SF.. feels better while driving, better visibility and handling in traffic. Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
No. Changing oil won't void warranty. Just stick with the recommended grade for better compatibility. I changed to shell advance few days before and the engine revvs more freely. Even hear shifting was too smooth. Go for it.Originally posted by Aniket Kuber View PostAs some one mentioned here does changing oil from stock to a different one before free services voids warranty ? Is it true ?
