400 bucks is too expensive for Motul by Suzuki oil. U may alternatively use Motul 3000 15w50 Mineral oil if the need be.

    Cheers
I thought of reusing the drained oil after 3k kms. I thought of changing oil before 2nd service. Is it a bad idea?

I would say run on the current semi synthetic oil till 3K kms and change back to Mineral post that, doing this will not cause any problems. Rest is up to you.

Yeah that seems good too. I'll change after 3k kms to mineral.

Well got my gixxy post service. They didn't bill for oil and said I have to pay 300 instead of 390 as they didn't bill(Yeah that's going to their pocket). I'm not sure what Engine oil they changed.

Engine feels smooth but throttle seems to be lagging a bit being FI. could it be due to oil ?

Guys. Huge problem. Apparently my bike is in critical condition (as said to me by the service centre guy). The problem in my bike particularly is that oil is draining too fast, even if ridden normally. This causes white smoke to come out of the exhaust. Now have given it to them..He said it'll take 5 days ! So annoyed because it's just 4 months old and took care of everything, run in period, regular servicing, etc! Has anyone faced this issue ?

Click a picture of the oil inspection window and post here for us, so as to get an idea of what oil could have been used in your bike. As to lag on the initial, check for chain slack, may it is too tight or loose. If the right grade oil has been used, there can't be any lag due to oil.

I am afraid your bike's piston rings may have worn off, due to which oil is entering the combustion chamber and been burnt off. White smoke emanates when oil is burnt.

Ask them why would they need 5 days? Even if the cause is as bad as the one I've described above they must be able to fix in a days time.

Actually its a very time consuming job more so with the SF, where removing and fixing back the fairng is another job, they said 5 days because, fixing this issue in a single day means they won't able to complete the regular service of other bikes and scooters.

Any my suggestion is , since this is quite a big issue, it must be done perfectly,
Don't make the guys at SVC to do it a hurry, which can make it worse.
              Cheers.

Thanks for the reply guys. I'm most heartbroken. Only done 3000 kms. I have taken engine extended warranty. And definitely I won't be paying for the repairs. I'll sue them if they persist to pay. So annoying.

the issue could be bad valve stem seals or damaged piston rings (further resulting in the block going for a toss). Don't pay a penny for repairs and make sure you have everything documented in the job card(right from the issue to what repairs they carried out). Keep a copy of all bills and job card and make sure you write your comments in the job card (like "will keep bike under observation after the major engine overhaul, not happy with suzuki quality") before taking final delivery.
For good measure also drop in an email to suzuki (or via their website) briefly explaining your situation and your bad experience with their product.

Yes you are right chain slack was too tight. Went to correct it and it's fine now. Thanks.

What is the Fuel Tank Capacity in Gixxer SF along with the reserve? Is it 9.6 l (Main) +2.4 l (Reserve) = 12l? I need to know to calculate my mileage. I didn't get a chance to do reserve to reserve yet. I did a full tank when it was 710 kms on odo and currently it is 1167 kms and still didn't go in reserve. There are still 2 bars left in the fuel indicator. Any ideas how much I am getting? This is in stop and go city traffic. Didn't hit the highways yet and stretch its wings. Just curious about the mileage before the 2nd service which is due next month (I don't want the SVC guys to mess anything up unnecessarily).

Hey guys, I have completed 14k kilometres on my gixxer and I'm starting to feel like the smoothness in engine is going away, I'm getting an grr sound when shifting gears sometimes.. And also the squeaking noise in rear brake never seems to go away even after service..Till date I have faced no issues but these are beginning to creep up now.. Can someone suggest me on what can be done to fix these issues?
