So I've done roughly 15k kms since I've owned the bike over the past 15 months. My front tyre has turned into a mesh with all these punctures. Need suggestions regarding front tyre replacement. use same MRF? or shift to other make? Any help/suggestion would be appreciated.

    cheers!

      Hi guys,

I have 18000 km on my gixxer sf(1 yr 6 mnths old). and i have done 6 service till now. using 300v for last 2 service as suggested by my friend. but for 1400 km run it feels ok(changing it every 3000+ run) and going smooth. but after 1400+ its getting some eng vib in high rev. I read some threads online that 300 v is for racing (for const high rpm) but 7100 is for daily use(i used to run my bike 40 km daily). so my questions are:

      1. should i move to 7100 10w 40?

      other questions:

      2. Is philips xtreme vision h4 is ok for my sf?
      3. Is it time to change the tyre(if yes which?)?
      4. is it time to change brake pads and shoe?
      5. my millage is constantly decrease(from 50 to 40 now). many time i have told the service center to retune . but ultimately nothing happend. So what is recommendation to increase millage?
      6. Is there any other thing that i have to change after 20k.

I am not sure why you have been using 300v, it's know this oil is for high compression racing engines. Full FS oil like 7100 or shell advance ultra is more than enough. Please stick to user manual. It provides a list of things that needs to be changed and the interval. Like around 12k km you should have changed the airfilter and spark plugs in xxx km like that. Do not deviate from the user manual, otherwise it will only cause issues.

It was recommended by my friend. But i think it was wrong decision. I will stick to 7100 from now. and as per as user manual i have changed all the things..like spark plug, air filter, oil filter etc. Even i want to change the brake oil but service center guy always says not needed. I think it is the worst service center(ksb chowk, pune).
I am only asking which ever parts are not included in user manual. like tyre, brake pads, brake shoe.etc.

Tyres, brake pads and chain sprockets are all wear and tear parts. They should be replaced based on usage. Tyres should be having tread indicator, but if you feel they are not gripping as before, then it's time to change. Similarly with brake pads too.

                Hey guys!
I am planning a nice long Mumbai-Nainital tour aboard my Gixxer SF next month (February). Although my riding will be in the daytime itself, I want to upgrade the lighting of my bike for the evening and night spins.
I need suggestions for the following :-
                1) Headlamp Bulb upgrade - I've read through some of the posts here which suggested the Philips Xtreme vision series of lamps, but am still unclear of which exact model would be a direct fit to the Gixx.
                2) Additional LED/Projector lamps I can consider mounting for highway use.

I'd like to know about any side-effects like blackening of the reflector , excessive battery drain etc. I do NOT wish to tamper with the reflector or battery.
I shall keep the said upgrades/modifications installed even after the tour as the night-visibility with the existing setup is considerably low for my daily highway commutes.
Wherever possible, please do post pictures of your setups and provide me with online links for purchase (or dealers in Mumbai) from where I can procure these upgrades/get them installed.
Lastly, if anyone wants to tag along with me from Mumbai-Delhi, I'm doing Mumbai-Udaipur on the 12th and Udaipur-Delhi on the 13th of February! Responsible riders are welcome!
                Thanks in advance!

                  Hi fellas,
I purchased my gixxer sf on 8th jan, completed only 200km as of now,

I need some advice from you guys.
We friends are planning a ride to kasol and adjacent places from Delhi around mid of february , would it be ok to take my bike on a long tour while in engine running in period?
I seriously dont want to join my friends as a pillion
I will skip the tour if it can cause any future performance problems.

Which gear do u suggest for a steep incline?
I m facing issues with climbing up the hill with pillion as light as 50 kg

I start at a speed of around 29-30 on second gear, and after 10 seconds it will come down to 22 or so. I feel if that incline was longer, bike would hv stalled.

Yes, incline with pillion is a tad difficult. You have to stick to a certain gear/speed where the engine is not too stressed or lugging. 25kmph is too low speed, keep it on first gear when you face a steep incline with pillion.

                                Hi
I bought Gixxer SF on November 8th, 2016. I have completed 1500 km. Bike is so good. I am happy with the bike.
I read reviews on this thread before purchasing bike so thank you all.

I am facing a problem with the bike. It is getting heated up while roaming in 3rd and 4th gear. Is it a problem? What should I do to prevent this?
                                Need your suggestions.
