Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
handlebar alignment? Or do you mean fork alignment? If the handlebar is not straight then yes it should be changed by the SVC. Definitely include it in your complaint.Originally posted by Shashank K R View Post

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I'm not sure but some people have said that changing the handlebar didn't help. It didn't help for me either. My bike had a fork bend from the beginning itself (I never had any fall until recently) which I found out after a few months. But - the bike tracks straight, the only symptoms being the gap and the riders palm paining.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View Posthandlebar alignment? Or do you mean fork alignment? A lot of new gixxers straight from the factory had this problem. Showroom guys give their age old excuse "it's normal sir".
Fork alignment was a problem I faced when I went in a pothole hard. Even this - I figured out that the lower T bolts were loose when I was adjusting it. This isn't the issue.
Also some international forums say that using a laser alignment tool is a PITA and inaccurate, main complaint being that it is hard to see. Also this thing is super expensive. The motion pro tool was recommended by Ari Henning too, I went for it due to its cost and ease of use.
This. The same thing was told to me for my activa and they said they'll fix it. They took ₹500 for fixing it but I didn't notice anything different. My father said he felt a difference so I didn't bother.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostThank you for the link. When I took my 2nd hand Eterno for its service few years back - the SA told me the scooter had "stance". I didn't know what that was and he explained how the rear "bonnet" was slightly deviated. He told me it happens commonly after an accident/fall. The vehicle tracked okay so we didnt do anything about it.Last edited by Shashank K R; 03-22-2018, 10:35 AM.

Not until you cut any wiring .Originally posted by tremonade View PostIf we add an headlight switch to the BS4 models, will it void the warranty?
I have connected the low beam wire to a external switch so it can only turn on/off only when your headlight is is low beam. this method doesnt require any cutting to original wiring !!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Mostly not. Sometimes it voids only the battery warranty, and not the warranty of the rest of the motorcycle (discretion advised) Though, as long as the wiring aren't spliced, warranty can be claimed.Originally posted by tremonade View PostIf we add an headlight switch to the BS4 models, will it void the warranty?

Hello guys,
I hope all are doing well. Posting here for a small advice from you guys.
Is it good to use an injector cleaner liquid? This doesn't require removing the injector itself and clean but just mix the cleaner material to petrol full tank and let it do its job. I've ridden 3500 KM so far.
your advises are much appreciated.
Cheers..!
PS: also same question goes with fuel system cleaners as well.Last edited by White Fang; 03-27-2018, 03:51 PM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
There's no harm in using Fuel Additives or Fuel System Cleaners on an FI or Carburetted system. They are usually made of kerosene or alcohol and can be used directly added to the fuel tank. Then there are aerosol type cleaners which are specifically for thorough cleaning of the throttle body or the carb when they are dismantled.Originally posted by White Fang View PostHello guys,

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Oh.! Cheers to your advice bro. I had some doubts since this is not a high end bike and addictives might harm the parts. In city rides with a pillion i get 35-39 kmpl mileage for a refill. Avg. weight of rider and pillion is 140 kg and I ride around 60-70 speed ranges when i see a clear rode but most of the time that speed is limited to seconds only and then i come up with traffic. So using these addictives will improve my mileage or is it entirely depending on my route to work and home .?Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostThere's no harm in using Fuel Additives or Fuel System Cleaners on an FI or Carburetted system. Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Using additives won't increase any given mileage per se, all they do is keep the fueling system clean for a crisper fuel feed. Rest depends on the quality of the fuel used and the way the bike is ridden.Originally posted by White Fang View PostOh.! Cheers to your advice bro. Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hi guys, I'm new here.
I am considering a Gixxer SF but I have a question, I've seen it mentioned a few times that the turning radius on this is leads to long/lengthy turns which are awkward while it's fine for the naked variant. Is that how it is?
Secondly, how tall is the bike? I'm 170cm, which is about 5"7' so I know I can ride it but do you think I could flatfoot it properly?
Thanks.Last edited by PeasantCommuter; 03-28-2018, 09:20 PM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Turning radius is the same for both SF and naked variant. And no its not long/lengthy. IMO its acceptable. You can comfortably and safely perform a Full U-turn within 2 adjacent standard lanes.Originally posted by PeasantCommuter View PostHi guys, I'm new here.

The seat height's at 780 mm. I'm 5"5' and I'm able to tip toe when on the saddle, so I don't think it should be a problem for you to flatfoot it.Originally posted by PeasantCommuter View PostSecondly, how tall is the bike? Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Do you always ride with a pillion? If not then your bike is actually returning very low fuel mileage as I'm getting about over 48 kmpl and I ride mostly solo at about the same speed as yours and upto 110 kmph on highways which I hit twice or maybe thrice a week.Originally posted by White Fang View PostOh.! Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hi guys, going to get my Gixxer SF FI ABS tomorrow. I did PDI today and bike looks very good and brand new. The 10th, 11th & 12th character of the vin are J83, while J means 2018 which is good, 11th character with 8 is confusing. does 12th character ie. 3 represent March now?Whats there in a signature?
