Hi guys, I'm new here.

I am considering a Gixxer SF but I have a question, I've seen it mentioned a few times that the turning radius on this is leads to long/lengthy turns which are awkward while it's fine for the naked variant. Is that how it is?

Secondly, how tall is the bike? I'm 170cm, which is about 5"7' so I know I can ride it but do you think I could flatfoot it properly?

You’re about my height and you can handle the bike without any hassle bro. You can hit flatfoot without any extra effort.

Do you always ride with a pillion? If not then your bike is actually returning very low fuel mileage as I'm getting about over 48 kmpl and I ride mostly solo at about the same speed as yours and upto 110 kmph on highways which I hit twice or maybe thrice a week.

Thanks for posting bro. Yes I do always ride with pillion. I always have to go on uncomfortable roads bro. I hardly get to hold the throttle for a long period of time. So that may be the issue for the bad fuel mileage.

Hi guys, going to get my Gixxer SF FI ABS tomorrow. I did PDI today and bike looks very good and brand new. The 10th, 11th & 12th character of the vin are J83, while J means 2018 which is good, 11th character with 8 is confusing. does 12th character ie. 3 represent March now?

11th character indicates the country where the vehicle was manufactured

Numbers 12 through 17 are just sequential numbers.

I have another question. How do you guys feel SF is in traffic? Like flicking and maneuvering in traffic. Does the faring feel a little obstructive in that or all good?

Fairing is not your concern... RVM's are the main culprits in maneuvering in traffic.

Got my Gixxer SF FI ABS blue color today. Rode 52kms on first day itself. Really enjoying the ride. Fab bike I must say.

So I went to a nearby Suzuki showroom and they were all out of Gixxer SF's to test ride, talked to the owner and he's assured me they'll be available later this week. I tried out the naked one and I felt like the bike was quite light and the ride was quite smooth. I assume the fairing weight etc doesn't make a huge difference in that regard but feel free to correct me.

So is there anything I should know before I consider buying? I noticed a few posts earlier talking about decoding the chassis number to find out Mfg and which lot it's from, is there some issue in a specific lot that's been identified or anything I should check in the bike(besides PDI)?

Quite wrong there...

Not gonna spoil anything, I will have you figure out the difference. SF is better than the Naked even though people say its just cosmetic. If you have a proper understandimg of how things work, you will figure out the difference easily.

Maybe I didn't word it right. If I get a Gixxer, I will go for SF but since there wasn't one to test at the moment cause they all got bought I had to settle for test driving the naked one to get atleast some feel and not feel like time wasted and I enjoyed how light it felt.

What I'm saying is, will the 5kg heavier SF actually feel heavy/cumbersome on the saddle? I'm assuming (and hoping) not but if someone else here has experience I'd appreciate if they could let me know.

I'm a novice rider so I wouldn't say I have a proper understand of anything which is why I'm asking here [emoji12]

Like I said, I will have you figure that out, so you can appreciate it better. That being said, you wont be making any mistake choosing the SF over the naked.

The reason why I am not going to say this is because many SF owners are not aware of it and only the most astute of SF owners will get it.

Also unfortunately most showrooms dont keep an SF for test ride. Not their fault though, the company doesnt provide them with a Demo SF. Because of this showrooms resort to using retail SFs for test rides and an unfortunate chap ends up buying that test ridden SF.

It's under extended warranty now... Any idea if they will replace under that.? Else how much it would cost if you know..

Yes it will be replaced under warranty. Dont know the price of teh part.
