Check the bike thoroughly. Check for service history. Check whether the bike had any accidents or not. Check whether theres any damage with any component of the bike.Originally posted by tremonade View PostI'm getting a used Gixxer SF(rear disc version) for 50k(30k kms used). Is it a good deal? Is it a Rear disc version? If so, 50k seems decent for 30k kmsFor My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Oh alright. My friends were saying that 30k kms inside 2 years is too much. So I was a bit skeptical.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostCheck the bike thoroughly. Check for service history. And yes, it's a rear disc variant.

Yes its a bit too much for 2 years. If you put the math down, it comes down to ~40kms per day that the owner has been riding the bike daily for 2 years.Originally posted by tremonade View PostOh alright. My friends were saying that 30k kms inside 2 years is too much. So I was a bit skeptical.

But yes do take into account what kind of person the owner is and what his job is as well. You dont want to buy a bike from a careless person. Every detail counts when you are buying a used bike. For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
One more thing. I'm planning to add a few extra mods, such as changing headlights, horn, adding a few LEDs. So I would like to know. how much extra Watts can this battery provide?Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostYes its a bit too much for 2 years. Not my field of expertise.Originally posted by tremonade View PostOne more thing. I'm planning to add a few extra mods, such as changing headlights, horn, adding a few LEDs. So I would like to know. how much extra Watts can this battery provide?
All I have done is change indicators to LED indicators. Thats all. Horn is more than sufficiently loud. As for headlights, I dont do much of night time riding so I am not bothered about it.For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Took the delivery of the bike yesterday night. Have a few queries though:
1. Even when on Neutral, is it common that you need to hold the clutch while starting the bike? Because without holding it, it won't start. In other bikes, you don't need to hold the clutch.
2. This bike has run 19k Kms. Is it time to change the tires?

Congratz on the bike! Hope you got the owners manual from the previous owner as well along with the service recordOriginally posted by tremonade View PostTook the delivery of the bike yesterday night. Have a few queries though:

1. Thats a thing with ALL Suzuki bikes xD. Its like a safety thing of sorts so that you dont accidentally lunge forward if the bike is in gear when you the crank the engine
2. Look at the T.W.I on the tyres and see whether they are coming in contact with the road. If not, then the rubber is fine. From the photo it looks like the rear tyre is Michelin Pilot Street. smh

I checked the TWI, the back tire is fine since its new. But the front tire's TWI is touching the ground in a few places.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostCongratz on the bike! Hope you got the owners manual from the previous owner as well along with the service record

So which tire would you suggest for the front? The one in the back is Michelin Pilot Sporty.Last edited by tremonade; 07-07-2018, 06:09 PM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
How much do the SVC charge for servicing the bike including oil change and changing the air filter?
Also, I have made a few mods like bar end lights, hazard lights and all. So will the authorized SVC refuse to service my bike?

Replies in blueOriginally posted by tremonade View PostHow much do the SVC charge for servicing the bike including oil change and changing the air filter? Under 1000 INR if you opt for Motul mineral which costs 293 INR
Also, I have made a few mods like bar end lights, hazard lights and all. So will the authorized SVC refuse to service my bike? Modifying the bike voids warranty. If any electrical damage takes place because of your mods then you wont be able to claim warranty. For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
My bike's fifth paid service is due, but i can assure you the charges given belowOriginally posted by tremonade View PostHow much do the SVC charge for servicing the bike including oil change and changing the air filter?

Labour charge = Rs 300
Engine oil = depends what you want to refill with
Air filter = Rs 100 max
Oil filter = Rs 35
Also i have added bar end lights and hazard lights on my bike too, this doesnt hamper the mechanical warranty anyway, though if you added those lights by cutting and joining factory fitted wires than your electrical warranty may be void if any short circuit occurs in your bike. Thats the only reason i have added those lights without cutting or joining any factory fitted wires. So technically my bike is in warranty
But do not worry i have done the servicing earlier with all those they dont bother much ..!!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Thanks. Any idea how much the brake shoe costs? Cuz is making a squeaky noise while applying the rear brake.Originally posted by kuulbhaskar View PostMy bike's fifth paid service is due, but i can assure you the charges given below
