Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
First time my gixxer fi stalled while running on a speed breaker @2nd gear. It was 10-12 KMPH and it did not lug so that's not the reason. I tried starting immediately but it stuggled and didn't start. It started few secs later once I tried again.
Lately I'm noticing weak battery. Indicator buzzer used to annoy me but now it's hardly audible. Could that be the reason for stall? Battery is pretty new as my bike just run 1700 km. Weak battery this early ??

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hello mates,
Just i need a small clarification. Any one have changed your stock headlight bulb to 60w, is there any battery drain problem? I've booked for gixxer sf fi and waiting for it.
Usually once in a month I'll be doing an overnight journey in my RE classic 350 for about 750 kms from chennai to kanyakumari Is the alternator perfect to handle 60w.
Can someone please take a snap of electrical chart in user manual and post it here.

Listen, just call up the insurance guys, the number should be there on your insurance paper. Tell them that you've had an accident and take the form for filling the details about the accident.Originally posted by presidency View PostRecent accident damaged my front n right side fairing.

They will apoint a Surveyor who will come and check what can be covered.
So take the bike to the SVC for inspection by the surveyor. All plastic and damaged thngs will be covered 100%. You'll have to shell out something around 50-60% on labour costs and minor "repairs"
I advice, ask the surveyor himself as what will be and not be covered 100%. And try to cover as much as parts possible under the claim
Once he has approved, wait for the bike to get repaired and the bill. Now you just have to pay the bill and bajaj will refund the amount with your deductions.
So basically you will just end up paying 10-15% of the whole bill.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Your post helps me a lot bro. I am from Chennai. I am thinking of changing these handlebars. If possible, please share your experience till now with those clipons, also I want to know the levers are adjusted for not hitting the fairing?Originally posted by Avinash666 View PostSorry mate, didn't think of filming the work while it was being done. So I don't think video will help.
Moreover, I can guide you through all the processes that was done.
First of all you need to replace this
with this
. As I mentioned in my previous post. Its just a piece of cast iron, into which a thread was grooved in the lower part to tighten into the fork. The upper part had to be shaved to 39mm (fork dia of R15.). Just remember, the lower half is to be identical to the stock cap. Upper part has to be 70mm long and 39mm dia. And dont forget to make a groove for the oil seals as it is in the stock caps.
After fixing the clip ons you might want to drill a hole to the base to tighten thus bolt for extra peace of mind.
As you can see, there is still some gap after turning the handles completely, so the handles lock as they should.
This is going to be the riding posture.
notice the steep angle of levers. This is to avoid hitting the front fairing while turning the handle.
Now talking about the cost break-up,
Handle bars--- 2x₹350=₹700
Fork cap replacement
(Lathing and metal)---2x₹400=₹800
Drilling for extra bolts---- 2x₹30=₹60
Labour charge---- ₹500
Any other query, feel free to PM me. Cheers.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Bro .....clipons on sf will increase the turning radius of the bike and sitting posture will also be somewhat lean toward the handle, which is uncomfortable.Originally posted by Navk View Posthttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6pHRNnIDT-U

If i were you, i would have stick to stock. Clipons on sf may ses very stylish and appealing, but ot got some disavantages as its not factory provided as stock.
Its your decision. Make the best of it.

Re: Gixxer SF 2017 price
in case you haven't bought it already, on road price of the gixxer SF in delhi is 1.07L (1.09 for SF FI) from Auto Zone suzuki in Okhla Phase2. paytm charges you ex-showroom price plus 500 convenience fees. once the showroom confirms your order the rest has to be paid at showroom when you take delivery of your bike.Originally posted by Shiva99 View PostI want to know what is the exact price if Gixxer SF 2017 on road in Delhi is? Yesterday, I stumbled upon Paytm and they are selling it for around 92k but on Suzuki website they mentioned that the on road price is around 1L. I am in a dilemma. Can you please help with this. Attaching a capture of paytm page.
