Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Yes someone did change it to a 60W bulb here. But its not really recommended since electricals is only good for 3ah compared to the 60mah required for 60W bulbs.Originally posted by stegoshen View PostHello mates,
Just i need a small clarification. Any one have changed your stock headlight bulb to 60w, is there any battery drain problem? I've booked for gixxer sf fi and waiting for it.
Usually once in a month I'll be doing an overnight journey in my RE classic 350 for about 750 kms from chennai to kanyakumari Is the alternator perfect to handle 60w.
Can someone please take a snap of electrical chart in user manual and post it here.
i use a Philips whitevision and its a lot better than the stock bulb. Do a lot of night riding and after you adjust the angle properly its definitely enough.

That is unfortunately not provided anywhere
Think of it this way, the battery will last 1 hr while discharging 3 amps. which is what the current light requires (2.9 amps @ 12V)
if you use a 60W lamp, then, 6amps will be consumed so battry will get discharged in 1/2 hr!
Even still, you need to remember that all the wiring/fuses/ etc are made for 3 amps. with 60w you will be doubling the rate so thats not a smart idea. It will definitely cause issues later on in the bike's life.
Many people hence attach separate LED lights to a plate bolted to the front licence plate. LEDs are pretty low power consuming.Last edited by de.das.dude; 03-22-2017, 10:43 PM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hey guys,
Not sure how to tell the issue exactly. Whenever I turn the bike in low speeds, the weight is being applied to the front wheel and sliding away to one direction. When I checked with a mechanic nearby, he advised me that one of the fork has twisted. He said the fork can be adjusted, he is not sure about cost. Since my free services has already ended, please advise me whether I can take this issue with SVC or mechanic. Also, let me know if the same issue persists again if it is adjusted.

Gear shifts will become smoother with oil change over time. Gear shifts are harder compared to other bikes, you'll get used to it.Originally posted by Harshad3154 View PostHi friends, bought sf bs4 yesterday bike is good but gear shifting is very hard
