Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Cleaning and lubing the chain is okay - it is part of the routine service. Adding petrol or oil additives is just a way to make little more profit.Originally posted by tremonade View PostI never told them to add the additive,I only asked them to change the rear fender. Don't know why they added the chain lubricants and all.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Has anyone changed the sprocket kit for Gixxer SF?
I called up Avanish Suzuki in vijaynagar, and they said the kit costs 1.3k plus extra 250 for fitting.
Then I called up Nine Star Suzuki in Sarjapur road, and they said it will cost 1600(he also told me the MRP is 1600) plus extra for fitting.
Now, do different service centers have different rates? Can anyone confirm what's the exact price of it?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
How much does the front fairing cost?(the one covering the headlight). Because the part which hold the screw is broken on the top, so I will have to change the whole thing.
Also, I'm planning to change the battery. Which one would be better?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hi All,
I am going to own my first bike and I am really confused between Gixxer SFI FI ABS and Fazer FI V2 2018. I need expert suggestion on this.
I live in Mumbai and I am buying the bike for below 2 reasons -
1.Daily Commute
2. Long drive once in a month.
I am having this confusion mainly for the following reasons -
1.After sales servicing of both the brands in Mumbai. Yamaha or Suzuki whose servicing is better in Mumbai.
2.Pillion riding comfort.
3.Braking of both the bikes. As I will commute daily in Mumbai traffic, braking is very important.
4.How much better is Gixxer SF FI for having an ABS.
Looking for some expert advice.

No pillion comfort in Gixxer opt for Fz insteadOriginally posted by archiereds View PostHi All,

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Get a UG5 Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTSi if ABS is not a concern and if it is, then go for the RTR180 ABS or RTR200 ABS depending on your taste.Originally posted by archiereds View PostHi All,

Not sure about Mumbai but down south Bajaj offers the best after-sales support be it in terms of service or spare availability.
I'm yet to come across a performance motorcycle that comes with a comfortable pillion seat.Originally posted by 8reaper View PostNo pillion comfort in Gixxer opt for Fz insteadMotorcycling Experience:

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Retrofitting a fairing on gixxer is not a straight bolts on job, still there are some people who have done this. You will have to weld a lot of brackets for the fairing plus the headlight arrangement will need changing.Originally posted by 111diablo111 View PostCan we fit fairing to Gixxer to make it as Gixxer SF? 1.Daily Commute
2. Long drive once in a month. (For occasional long drives Gixxer SF FI ABS is better)

1.After sales servicing of both the brands in Mumbai. Yamaha or Suzuki whose servicing is better in Mumbai. (Don't know about service in Mumbai but Suzuki spares are cheaper than Yamaha)
2.Pillion riding comfort. (FZ is better)
3.Braking of both the bikes. As I will commute daily in Mumbai traffic, braking is very important. (Front brakes are better in Fazer they have better bite. Gixxer SF FI ABS has better rear brakes with disc as standard)
4.How much better is Gixxer SF FI for having an ABS. (During monsoons it is impossible to judge the surface friction and adjust braking. ABS is safer and worth the investment. I chose the Gixxer SF FI ABS over the FZ just for ABS)
Looking for some expert advice.
