Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I too had the same issue in the handlebar, pulling towards left hand side.. I asked the SVC guys and they told me that the handlebar is slightly bent and he adjusted the centre bolt .. I had a rear tyre puncture once before few months .. I thought that handlebar issue could be because of wrong alignment after fixing the puncture...Originally posted by Gixxer_SS View PostCheck the rear wheel alignment also to rule out alignment issue

I have noticed vehicle pulling to left hand side on my Gixxer SF. I have attached pic from the front and the front tyre isn't vertical.

Also if you look at the handle bar the left side looks lower than the right

This looks like a front forks fitting issue. Can anyone please guide me how to adjust the front forks DIY. TIA!

Thanks to icarious for the info
Time for an Update Gentlemen: ECSTAR R5000 Mineral oil has been launched @335 INR along with ECSTAR Chain Cleaner and Lube (2 in 1) @664 INR
My Advice: Ignore the Chain cleaner and lube, take a look into R5000 if you want. Motul mineral might get discontinued.
Note: Look at the image of the bike on the label of R5000, its the Gixxer SF

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hello folks,
i am glad to own a 2015 model gixxer a few days ago. It was my dream to own one. i have noticed there is no leg guard in my vehicle also the left hand side of the switch console comes loosen and moves itself whenever i pull the choke lever. shall i fix it or it needs to be changed? any other bikes leg gurad will suite for this or is good to go with the stock one? expecting your valuable comments
Another query:
i had recently changed the engine oil from ASC. I asked for the normal mineral oil but they showed me a specific brand which they said is the oil they using for gixxer. The oil looks like synthetic and 10w40 ''recommended by suzuki motor corporation, Japan''. The price of the oil is 371 Rs. I was only intended to pour normal mineral oil because i normally change the oil once the km covered 2.5 k to 3k. so my question is why suzuki itself provides a synthetic oil instead of normal mineral oil. is this oil ok for my gixxer?. how many km i can cover with this one? and how comes a synthetic oil comes for just 371 Rs ??

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hi Guys,
I feel that my bike's engine is not smooth as it used to be before. I have clocked around 21k kms on odo and it has been close to two years since I bought the bike.
Too much noise in the engine and its like something is rubbing. Also it feels like a old vehicle making the noise like a pressure cooker whistle.
Is it because, as the engine ages, the smoothness is lost or is it cos of my driving.? Proper break in, timely service and timely change of engine oil has been done.
Any suggestions or advices?
Thanks,

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
The Oil you mentioned is semi synthetic mix by Idemitsu. It was used on my bike by the service center and from my experience its nothing great. While riding in hot summer afternoon in traffic condition the oil really suffers and engine sounds rough and vibey. But now that monsoons have arrived it would not be that bad. The service centers were not maintaining mineral oil stock but now Ecstar oils have arrived and they would be worth trying.Originally posted by cbzee View PostHello folks,

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
i asked the ASC guy if there any other oil but they said are stocking this oil only for gixxers. Hope i can find Ecstar oil in some other ASC for my next oil change. Apart from the oil we get from the ASC, can you suggest some aftermarket oil which will be optimal for our gixxer?. it shouldn't have to be semi or fully synthetic. just mineral oil. by the way, thanks for the heads up buddy!Originally posted by Gixxer_SS View PostThe Oil you mentioned is semi synthetic mix by Idemitsu. Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
There are very less options for 10w40 mineral oils and its difficult to find them. If you are alright with 20w40 mineral oil then there are many brands available. It would be wise to check the oil specifications instead of just going by a brand name. Check the JASO and API specifications while comparing and choose the one having the latest specification/standard.Originally posted by cbzee View Posti asked the ASC guy if there any other oil but they said are stocking this oil only for gixxers. Semi synthetic oils I personally wouldn't recommend because they never tell us percentage of synthetic oil in it. So we can't be sure what we are getting.
For Full Synthetic oils use the one which mention Ester as they give best performance but are costly.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Some SVCs stock Motul mineral oil, you might want to check it out. Other than that there's the Shell AX7 in 10w40 grade which is "semi synthetic". It lasted around 2000kms for me and was good enough.Originally posted by cbzee View Posti asked the ASC guy if there any other oil but they said are stocking this oil only for gixxers. Don't go for 20w40, it makes the engine noticeably sluggish.Last edited by Shashank K R; 06-08-2018, 06:28 PM.

Get the valve clearances checked. Also check the air filter and spark plug.Originally posted by Vasanth Kumar Rangaswamy View PostHi Guys,

Thanks,
If it's making too much of a mechanical noise (don't know how to describe it, something like a 'kat-kat' or 'clung-clung'), you may have to get the cam chain tensioner changed.
The whistle noise seems to be normal. You can ignore it.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Thanks buddy. Shell AX7 semi synth is already in my list and hoping to try it for my next oil change. Is it safe to downgrade to mineral oil from semi synthetic? though there are not much mineral oil in 10w40 grade. most of them are either semi or fully synthetic.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostSome SVCs stock Motul mineral oil, you might want to check it out.
