Has anyone placed Fog lights on their Gixxer SF from Bangalore? If yes, where do you get the clamp here in Bangalore?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I'm using an LED headlight since the past 3 months, but the only problem is that on roads where there are yellow street lights(almost everywhere), the streetlights overlap the light from my bike since yellow>white. So I'm planning to go back to halogens. So which halogen bulb would you recommend? Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket bulbs?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
So as per you Royal enfield has smoother engine than Gixxer and is value for money.
Have you heard about Dominar?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hi All,
Again here with the query regarding another roadtrip. This time planning to cover around 1000km in a day.
I am planning to my home town by bike on these diwali holidays. I will start from Pune to Kota. Planning to take the Indore route as it is shorter. I have read everywhere that the Gujarat roads are better but that adds 200km more to the trip and making it almost impossible to cover in 1 day.
I need some help regarding the same.
1) Has anyone travelled from Pune to Rajasthan. Which route have they taken. Because the Gujarat route is good for cars as they get 2 expressways (4 wheelers only). Are MP roads good enough to travel through and keeping avg speed of 80-100kmph.
2) Luckily my service is also due a week before trip. I have covered 11000 kms till now, should I go for synthetic oil this time as I have to cover 2000kms (return journey) and don't want to keep changing oil.
If yes, which one should I opt for and it's price.
3) Please suggest some good headligjt bulb. Don't want to use LEDs as they blind the coming traffic. But since I have to cover 1000km means I have to ride for some time in night too. And gixxer's headlight, well no comment on that.
So must have to change it. Please suggest anything which works.
4) Any other tips, I know travelling in larts 500-600 km a day sounds more sensible, but I want to push the limit. In my trip from Chennai to Pune, max I covered 650km in a day. I want to pust it to 900-1000km.
Please give your inputs and please fast since Diwali is near so is my trip.
Cheers

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
You can go through Gujarat. Only Vadodara to Ahmedabad - 95KM is Expressway strictly limited to 4 wheelers. Until then you will come on National Highway only. The Highway was opened updated just little over a year back, so it's perfect. Now, if you are going towards Udaipur then you will follow Vadodara - Dakor - Kapadvanj - Modasa - Shamlaji - Udaipur route, which is short. There is a patch of about 20KM from Dakor which is in bad shape but for two wheeler it won't bother you much. But do go through Kapadvanj city and avoid bypass - it's totally broken road.Originally posted by utkarsh17 View PostHi XBHPians,

Now, if you are going to Mount Abu first than you will go to Ahmedabad - Himmatnagar - Ambaji - Abu Road and on. This route will be traffic free once you cross Ahmedabad. You will easily cruise over 80kmph.
Overall, Roads are 90% perfect as I went there last month on both routes.
I wouldn't recommend you to drive during the night on any of these roads. If you can tell your first destination in Rajasthan, I may suggest you place for a night halt. Driving over 400km on a bike is tough, you have driven it before, but I would suggest you not to push the limits. Always better to take a good rest and avoid driving after sun in areas we are not familiar with.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I am not planning to visit any locations. Just want to do endurance trip. If I go by Gujarat it will be 1100 km, and for 150cc bike that is too much. So I was planning to go via Indore-Ujjain road.Originally posted by zvhipp View PostYou can go through Gujarat. Only Vadodara to Ahmedabad - 95KM is Expressway strictly limited to 4 wheelers. Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Hi All,
This is my first post here, pardon me for any mistakes or silly queries which i may ask.
This query is about break in. i have bot the gixxer sf fi ABS variant last month and completed first 800 km with 4500 rpm limit and also first service done. in this 800 km i tried to vary the rpm and reach 4500 rpm then change gear or some time reach 4500 rpm and release throttle so i slow down to may be 3000 rpm and accelerate again this i was doing as the traffic permits. i tried acceleration and deceleration in each gear.
now my question is for next 800 km, should i try to accelerate to 7500 rpm and then change gear? because i can try that in 1-2-3 gears but it will be hard to do it in 4th and 5th gears as i mostly drive in city i might not see a stretch or safe to do that, will that effect the bike in any way or is it just fine to vary rpm and stay in limit is ok, say i might not even touch 7500 rpm at all is fine?
