Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
You cannot ignore those dashboard fairing and mudflap plastics, they look really gross like activas unless they are shiny black. On these blacks, you can use pidilite or 3m dashboard cleaner as suggested earlier. wipe off with dry cloth everyday, but yes of course wash it over weekend and apply again.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View Post

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I dont have a rear fender because I did a custom rear fender elimination. As far as the dashboard is concerned, it will fade if its exposed to the Sun for over an extended period of time. If you cover your bike you have nothing to worry about. I have a custom piece of fabric I use to cover the dashboard in public settings if I have to leave it under the Sun. Also the dashboard IF after a long total period of exposure fades away, you can get a new one (its very cheap, trust me). I do all that but I donot apply wax anywhere on the bike simply because that shine is Short lived. The side effect is that the Wax attracts Dust on an accelerated pace. The shine will be there on one day, the next day its covered with Dust. This effect is less if you just wash teh bike and leave it as it is.Originally posted by shailendra.k View PostYou cannot ignore those dashboard fairing and mudflap plastics, they look really gross like activas unless they are shiny black. Instead of doing a postwash detailing I would rather do a Detailed Wash with specific cleaners for Rims, Plastics and Brake rotors. For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Make sure the oil level in your bike is correct. Seems like oil issue. If oil level is fine, then have then check the oil filter. sometimes if the filter is too jammed up, oil wont be getting to your engine parts. This would explain hard gear shifts as well the gear noise as well as overheating engine.Originally posted by sufi859 View PostAnd another one , the engine is also heating too much with rock hard gear shift.
I have ridden in bumper to bumper but it never overheats. Mostly because you dont even need to use throttle. 1st gear without throttle is enough to make you go 6kph. which is enough when ridigng slow bumper traffic.

well seems like you are redlining your engine from day one. Its clear that your engine is work down already since you did not break in. This explains all your problems.Originally posted by sufi859 View PostYes I m doing it. Can't resist on this blue monster.!!

Could you share what it looks like with the fender eliminator? I was thinking of getting it done as well.
Thanks

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I am not redlining the engine from day one, but after a 15 days or so, i did it occasionally. Now the heating issue with the engine, yesterday i took my bike to svc and discuss with them the heating issue he got the trial on my bike and conclude that the engine is heating at the permissible limit and he showed me the sensor at the engines bottom and explained me that if any issue will occur with the heating of engine i will be notified by the malfunction indicator. He assured me to ride it with no worries, being the FI model i will be notified by the malfunction indicator if any problem with the bike occurs. He also checked the oil level and said that the level is fine.Originally posted by de.das.dude View PostMake sure the oil level in your bike is correct. Seems like oil issue. Later he showed me an oil container and asked me to use this oil at next oil change, he said it is the synthetic oil which will cost me around 390. I am little confused because once i asked the price for synthetic oil by castrol and the vendor said me the price around 750.Last edited by sufi859; 04-26-2017, 02:07 PM.

I haven't seen anyone in Noida who has done this. But, you can get it done from Sector - 9. There are many decent ones there.Originally posted by dexterz View Postanyone from noida that has done seat modification like in this video? im trying to get the same for mine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEOiQeJdMrc

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Did you read what was written on the back of the container? Its the Idemitsu SS oil that sells for 390. Just opt for the Motul mineral oil that costs 308Originally posted by sufi859 View PostI am not redlining the engine from day one, but after a 15 days or so, i did it occasionally. Also doesnt matter whether you were redlining it from day 1 or after 1 month. How many times and for how long did you redline it for before the First service at 800kms? After that how many times and for how long did you redline it before the 2nd service at 1600kms?
If you read your manual it clearly states that you are supposed to stay below 4k rpm till first service and below 7k rpm till 2nd service.
But dont worry, ride your bike sensibly and everything should be fine. For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
The wax is not just for shine. It helps protect the paint from fading and also prevents small scratches (not the deep ones). Also protects the paint from the effects of UV rays and the sun.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostI dont have a rear fender because I did a custom rear fender elimination. Of course if you're washing the bike every week and cover the bike, waxing won't make sense.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
The way the manual says to break in is the soft break in method but after thorough research I found out that hard break in is the way to go. Although I was skeptical about whether to follow the method or not but finally decided to do so. And if you do it properly then the bike becomes a different machine all together. The performance is better than that of the bike which was softly broken. So redlining the bike before 1st service is OK.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostDid you read what was written on the back of the container? Its the Idemitsu SS oil that sells for 390. Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
the rear view mirrors of my bike needs to be adjusted or tightened for once at least a month. While surfing the web pages and YouTube, I find few people have the same problem and they changed the rvm's with pulsar 220s' rvm's. could someone please tell me whether to go for that?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
No need to do anything as such. Just go to your nearby mechanic, ask him to add one nut of the same size to each of the RVMs. I had the same issue and probably every Gixxer SF owner.Originally posted by Navk View Postthe rear view mirrors of my bike needs to be adjusted or tightened for once at least a month. I was also fed up from the RVMs, then i found this video and it solved the issue.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
thanks bro,1. but the rvm's are a bit lengthy and protruding a bit,due to which the rvm's tends to damage while maneuvering in traffic conditionsOriginally posted by Harshit Dave View PostNo need to do anything as such. 2.Also the rear view is not good with the stock rvm's.
these are also my reasons for thinking of an alternative rvm for my bike.
