I'll suggest yo to purchase an adventurer sports bike 😀 and not to tamper with this piece of beauty. In addition....the bike looks ugly without the lower fairing parts.

True that. Removed the lower fairing for painting it. The bike looks the best in full fairing only.

Don't act too smart bro.. redlining new engine is good.. no need to stick with what manuel says. Break-in with low rpm is for older engines.

Painting it black?

This is my friends bike. He will be soon doing the red black stickering job that the current sf comes with so painting the lower fairing black. The complete black gixxer sf also looks great.

Any idea about the cost of the Front and Rear rims in Gixxer? Where do you guys get the rims checked for any bend? Does the SVC do it? (Just a little paranoid after I recently hit a pothole : / )

You can get it checked at the SVC. I'm not sure about other than SVC. Secondly, the cost of the rims is around 6K.

First of all, no SVC is "best". Unfortunately an SVC will perform good only if you are actively supervising your bike. Meaning, dont leave your bike at the SVC and go off to work. Take a day off and stay with the bike until the service is completed. There are many reasons for black smoke. A black smoke indicates unburnt fuel. Most likely your engine is running Rich. If the black smoke issue started recently then get the spark plug checked. It most likely will not be a carb issue.

If it helps I have heard some gixxer owners say Gem Suzuki is good. Dont take my word for it though.

As per my personal experience with hyd Suzuki service centres no Suzuki svc is best in our hyd. I found that the Mahavir Suzuki which is located in the Kukatpally Y junction is good enough for general servicing & for minor problems.

Thanks for the replay. i went to mahaveer suzuki at kukatpally and said all my problems, they took total day for service and gave bike at evng 6PM and tested it with pillian and now bike pulling some what better then past and pickup also improved slightly. i think all gixxers are like this only. i need to check the smoke after riding it for 1week and update it. in service report they wrote about spark plug gap etc.i felt that the engine sound is more than another gixxers.

Can i know that our bike will make sound at 4.5 to 6krpm that feels like its is struggling to move

I don't think the bike struggles between 4.5k to 6k rpm. At these rpm's, the bike is actually super cool with buttery smooth ride.

Actually, the bike is not struggling at 4.5 to 6k rpm but the sound it makes with pillion feels like that. After 6k rpm the wind noise covers the engine sound.

Engines are run at the factory level a bit already. It is then up to the user to break in the bike or break the bike. As simple as that!

All engines need breaking in - from 50cc to 7000cc. And all manufacturers recommend a slow break in, right from TVS Shakti XL Super to Dodge Charger/Lamborghini Aventador.
But then there came a guy, called Motoman to the world who gave a different formula that was more exciting. People followed, but nobody came back after 50,000 km to prove that Motoman's method works.
Heck, race bikes are never run in, they're ripped from km 0, but then those engines are stripped multiple times every season.

Want reliability (and warranty)? Stick to what the more knowledgeable party (manufacturer) says.

Guys my second service is in due and my odo count is just 900km and I have just done 400 km after my first service and there is barely any change in oil level. My doubt is should I go for the engine oil change or get it done in my next service.

I didn't understand what exactly u r pointing about. What type of sound u r getting ? And what is this struggling to move ? We're do U stay? After the service also r u experiencing problems right.

Nothing is going to happen if you change the oil early. If you change oil even 100kms after the previous oil change, nothing will happen.

Until you are within the service period just do as the manual instructs. Get the full service done which includes the oil change irrespective of how many kms you have ridden otherwise you can kiss your warranty goodbye.

Also tell them to use the Motul 10w40 mineral oil. Dont use the SS Idemitsu oil. Not sure whether you used Motul in the first service or not.

the engine sound of the bike will make me feel that its struggling, but its running well. i am staying at bharath nagar. after service bike performance improved but not to my expectations. I don't know whether i am expecting more from bike or bike not performing well(pick-up).

i need to check with other gixxxer to confirm whether my bike is in problem or running well
