Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread

Interesting, what company is it from?

Also 92 is enough.

I’m from a Sri Lanka. So we have 3 agents who distributes gasoline to whole country. 70%ish controlled by government fuel stations. They offer Petrol Octane 92 and 95.

Others are IOC (indian oil company) and laughs lanka. Now laughs also have 92, 95 where IOC stations have Xtra premium 95 and Euro 3 something (91 or 93 octane)

The price difference between Octane 92 and 95 is LKR 10/= (INR 4.60)
Gov. sells 1 litre of 92 octane at LKR 117.00 (INR 48.88) and 95 octane at LKR 128/= (INR 53.48)

IOC sells LKR 3 rupees more than gov fuel stations.

Hello! I had the same doubt but I don't think it really makes much of a difference as the engine of gixxer doesn't work on high compression ratio.

Wow you got some pretty cheap fuel there in terms of INR. But yes if you want to go for government fuel then 92 RON is enough. If you want to go for IOC fuel then go for the Euro 3 that you mentioned which must be 91RON. Xtrapremium is 91 RON with additives

No worries buddy i had managed to install the FZS V 2.0 Tyre hugger on my SF, as the default welding holes are missing with FZS hugger so i have made the new holes on hugger where we had the default welding holes so it's filts perfectly fine, now only waiting for to install L shape plates to install on right side hugger holes for giving support.

Now my bike is totally mud free just like summer condition......

I recently bought a used Gixxer SF but unfortunately within a month or 2 its piston or crank got faulty or you can say that engine is almost dead .. can you suggest me what should I do get it serviced or just sell in at the half of the cost ( I bought it for 58K)

Its not in riding condition now - before that it was giving 30-35KMPL. It was bought for the first time in Jan-2016

I dont know the exact as the person from whom i bought the bike had tempered the meter -- but I guess it would be somewhere near - 25K

Ok, so let me just ask you a few basic questions:

1. Did you ask for service record before buying the bike?
2. Did you inspect the bike properly before purchasing it?
3. Did you test ride the bike properly before purchasing it?
4. If you knew the odometer was tampered before purchasing it, why did you buy the bike anyway?
5. Did you buy the bike from its First owner?

There seems to be a lot of BS in what you are saying. What do you mean by "I guess it would be somewhere near 25k"? What is the Odometer reading RIGHT NOW?

I felt exactly the same way you do bro. This guy has knowledge to surf online and so. Buying a motorcycle without checking above basic points is absurd.

Exactly! But still if the date of purchase is jan 16', he should be able to get a warranty claim right?
