Its a nice find!Originally posted by kuulbhaskar View PostThere is a price error going on in amazon.in for motul c1 chain cleaner and c2 lubricant @Rs 495 that too of 400ml pack. Normally it sells for Rs 990 both and Only the Lube c2 costs Rs 500 around ..so its a steal deal for those who do their chain cleaning and lubing themselves so hurry up !!
However heres the thing, you tend to use more of the cleaner than the lube. Thats why I buy Kerosene by the liter for very cheap and use Motul Chain Lube
I have gotten Motul chain lube on a very good sale day at 360INR. For another 100INR or less you could get a higher quantity of either Kerosene or Diesel. For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Okay i have done my first service yesterday at 847 KM. Our suzuki office recommends 750-1000 km as the initial free service period. Now i just want to make sure the speed and rev limit i can do till next service at 2500 KM. I believe its 6000 RPM at 60 KMPH. Is that correct guys?

I don't think there is a limit for speed just don't rev beyond 6500 rpm for the next 1000 kms.Originally posted by White Fang View PostOkay i have done my first service yesterday at 847 KM. The speed is not important. The RPMs is what matters.Originally posted by White Fang View PostOkay i have done my first service yesterday at 847 KM. Breakin RPM range is independent of service interval.
Upto 1600kms keep your RPMs below 7000
After 1600kms you can rip it open.
The 1600 is cumulative distance (odo reading) not 1600 after 800.
Remember, the bike makes peak torque at 6000rpm, meaning your effective range would be somewhere from 4k to 6k rpm.
Dont lug the engine in the name of fuel saving.
Peak power is at 8000RPM but dont bother about that. Its not what the bike was built for.For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Wonderful comment. Thank brother. I'll set my RPM indicator at 6500.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostThe speed is not important. The RPMs is what matters.

I noticed SVC filled oil to go little above F level. Should I drain the excess oil ?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
If you are using Motul mineral, Idemitsu SS or ECSTAR R9000 or any 10w40 motorcycle oil for that matter, the standard container capacity is 1000mlOriginally posted by White Fang View PostI noticed SVC filled oil to go little above F level. Should I drain the excess oil ?
Gixxer holds 950ml with a filter change, 850ml without a filter change.
Almost always you get the filter changed along with an oil change, so thats 950ml required. However SVC people pour the entire bottle in. This is a not an issue.
An extra 50ml is not going to cause any problem. For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I don't think this is any quality branded oil. Most service centers use Havoline 20W40 big drums as they are cheap to buy. They use this loose oil to refill the engine.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostIf you are using Motul mineral, Idemitsu SS or ECSTAR R9000 or any 10w40 motorcycle oil for that matter, the standard container capacity is 1000ml

Anyways i will get a semi synthetic oil change around 2000 kms.

That does not look like Havoline to me. Havoline has 10w40 oil as well so theres no reason for your SVC to use 20w40Originally posted by White Fang View PostI don't think this is any quality branded oil. Explore our range of fully synthetic, semi-synthetic and mineral motorcycle engine oils that come with C.O.R.E.+ Technology and ZoomTech.
In that case, buy your own oil from an automobiles spareparts shop and get it changed at SVC.
Havoline is from Caltex, never heard of it. Googled it and it seems to be a brand from Phillipines. Funny enough this oil is not exported to India. For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Referenced pictures was to illustrate the size of drum they use. This is the company responsible for havoline sri lanka.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostThat does not look like Havoline to me. Havoline has 10w40 oil as well so theres no reason for your SVC to use 20w40

And they online have 3 grades. I searched everywhere in SL (online) for quality mineral 10W40 engine oil but came empty. I saw there is a semi synthetic oil from Mobil which can be used to gixxer.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Yea, you can do exactly that. Since you told me before that the SVC has permitted you to bring any choice of Oil yourself to be replaced in the gixxer, you can choose whatever brand you want > Mobil, Shell, Motul, ECSTAR (if available).Originally posted by White Fang View Post

TBH, I dont believe in Semi Synthetics. By definition their base stock is supposedly made of Mineral+Synthetic groups, but none of them ever mention what % of each is present in it. For all I care, it could be 99.99% mineral and 0.01% synthetic groups and they will call that Semi Synthetic.
So go for Full mineral or Full Synthetic.
Change to full synthetic at 4000kms if you want not before that. Ideally I would switch to FS at ~7000kmsFor My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Yeah mate. Following your advice I’m planning to go FS by at least 5000. I can go FS in my next service as well but there is no point I believe. For FS i can opt for Motul 300v or Liqui Moly 10w40 Street brands. I can’t remember seeing Motul 7100.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostYea, you can do exactly that. Using SS will at least give me advantage over havoline. These idiots use 20w40 so i have freedom to use 10w40.
