Can I use it?????
1. The ride height increases. The pillion seat height also increases.
2. A small hit to the acceleration (although I've not felt any loss in acceleration).
3. Increased ground clearance.
This helps me a lot since I'm quite heavy and the stock tyres touch speedbreakers at almost every one (I have tried changing the suspension setting, helped a little).
4. Maybe safer for the rims due to increased sidewall, but the rims are pretty strong.
5. Stiffer ride due to the increased sidewall.
6. I've forgotten this point in the past - the riding posture becomes more front biased, ie, it does affect the handling in some way.
Stick to stock tyres if you're happy with them.Last edited by Shashank K R; 01-13-2018, 12:08 AM.

Good info. brother! I thought it might hit the stock mudguard due to increased sidewall.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostA 140/70 tyre does fit.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Doesn't hit anywhere.
Also, anyone planning to upsize, don't. Forms a highly exaggerated profile on our small rims. Stick to 130/70, 140/60 or 140/70, most preferably 140/60 since the other suitable sizes overgear the bike (and also 140/60 is recommended).

There was a periodic tak tak sound coming from the front sprocket (mileage - 13000kms). Inspected and noticed that the front sprocket had begun to hook, causing that sound. Hence replaced the front sprocket alone since the rear sprocket and chain were in good shape. Replaced it with Pulsar 150's front sprocket, costed ₹93 (Credit - sandeep.cf).

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
Yup, it's the Rosso 2, but in 150/60. Not a good option. The 140/70 will form a better profile, but still isn't a good choice - due to our roads and the power our bikes produce.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostDiablo Rosso II, probably 140/70.

Not mine however, it's a friend who decided to splash 7k on this tyre as his riding style was "very aggressive". I still use the 140/70 Pilot Street Radial.
Oddly, the 150/60 is cheaper than the 140/70 here.
It might be, but I've seen other stock gixxers with the same issue.Originally posted by THANIGAIMADHAVAN View PostChanging the tyre and sprocket problem, related bro??????Last edited by Shashank K R; 01-13-2018, 12:56 PM.

Check my previous quote, I mentioned theres a 140/60 option available. I am surprised your friend dint go for that option.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostYup, it's the Rosso 2, but in 150/60. Not a good option. Why the Michelin tyres and not the MRFs?For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

The 140/60s weren't available here. My attempts at convincing him to go for the 140/70 were in vain.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostCheck my previous quote, I mentioned theres a 140/60 option available. I am surprised your friend dint go for that option.
Why the Michelin tyres and not the MRFs?
I'm using the Michelin right from 45kms since my stock MRF had a sidewall puncture right outside the showroom when I was taking it. Didn't notice it till the next day.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread
I am planning to change my tire after 32k kms. 130/70 is in my mind. Has anyone tried it? I didn't like 140/70(rode another Gixxer fitted with that profile tire).Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostAlso, anyone planning to upsize, don't. Another tweak I did to my chain is I removed all the O-rings. Now the bike is rolling freely when the clutch is depressed. Also the chain rolling resistance has become very less. All the chain noises are gone. Its been 200kms and there is absolutely no problem, need some more time and kms to confirm. There was a periodic tak tak sound coming from the front sprocket (mileage - 13000kms). 130/70 will overgear the bike just like the 140/70, but not as much.Originally posted by sandeepcf View PostI am planning to change my tire after 32k kms. 130/70 is in my mind. Has anyone tried it? I didn't like 140/70(rode another Gixxer fitted with that profile tire).
